This article analyzes the representation of culture shock in Andrea Hirata's novel Edensor, focusing on the experiences of the main characters, Ikal and Arai, as they interact with European culture. Using Kalvero Oberg's culture shock theory, which includes the stages of honeymoon, crisis, recovery, and adjustment, this study explores how both characters undergo shifts in mindset and attitudes when confronted with foreign cultural values. The paper also discusses the impact of culture shock on their character development and its relevance in today's global socio-cultural context, including migration and international education. Through this analysis, it is understood that culture shock is not merely a clash of cultures, but also a crucial process for learning and personal growth. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to interdisciplinary literary studies, particularly in understanding the relationship between literature and social-cultural phenomena.

Linux kernel security is a critical aspect of ensuring the integrity and stability of operating systems. Vulnerabilities like Dirty COW (CVE-2016-5195) illustrate how exploitative threats can severely impact systems, particularly those that are not regularly updated. This study analyzes the working mechanism of Dirty COW, its impact, and mitigation strategies based on Linux kernel hardening techniques, including the use of security modules like SELinux and AppArmor, as well as the Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) technique. Through attack simulations and mitigation evaluations, the findings emphasize the importance of regularly applying kernel patches to maintain system security. This study aims to provide practical guidance for enhancing Linux kernel resilience against exploitation attacks.

This development research aims to create digital-based learning content on psychological first aid as a first step to reduce self-harm behaviour as an effort to provide psychological support in crisis situations. This is due to the rampant cases of mental disorders that lead to self-harm. This learning media development uses the ADDIE development model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis of the trial results and the effectiveness of the media conducted through a survey to 57 students regarding the understanding and user response to the media developed using 8 (indicators) of assessment. Digital learning media produced in the form of educational content uploaded through massive online open courses and also through 2 (two) social media, namely YouTube and Instagram. All respondents gave an assessment that their understanding of PFA and self-harm increased after reading and watching the educational videos presented. Digital learning media can be an effective tool in educating mental health, including PFA to deal with self-harm. Recommendations and suggestions for further development are to expand the target audience and conduct further research to assess the long-term impact of media on self-harm management.

Students need to be equipped with employability, which leads to individual efforts to utilize their knowledge and skills to the fullest to find and maintain employment. One strategy to meet employability standards from companies or recruiters is to increase emotional intelligence. Individuals who have a high level of emotional intelligence will be more confident in displaying their employability. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and employability in students participating in the UNNES PRIGEL MBKM program. The approach used was quantitative correlation and involved 350 students selected through quota sampling. Research data were taken using the employability scale and the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (SEIS). Furthermore, the data were analyzed using Pearson's Product Moment correlation technique. This study obtained the results of the emotional intelligence and employability correlation test, which resulted in a count value = 0.626 with a significance value of p = 0.001 and p < 0.05. These results indicate a relationship between emotional intelligence and employability in college students.

The 21st-century skills are essential component of curriculum frequently implemented in schools and universities to equip students for competition in the labor market. Integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) into Project-Based Learning (PjBL) promotes active student engagement and interdisciplinary problem-solving to tackle complex issues. This article aims to provide research recommendations on how the STEM-integrated PjBL model affects students' 21st-century skills and to provide information on rarely-researched trends in this field. A Systematic Literature Review was conducted following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, utilizing Harzing's Publish or Perish software, VOSviewer, and Google Scholar databases, focusing on thirty references published between 2019 and 2023. The findings indicated that the STEM-based PjBL approach significantly enhances students' 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving abilities, thereby preparing them to navigate complex global challenges. Effective implementation requires interdisciplinary teacher collaboration, technology integration, and supportive learning environments. However, the analysis highlights that the integration of STEM and PjBL has not been extensively associated with collaboration and communication skills, presenting a valuable opportunity for future research in this area.
