Unstable financial conditions in insurance companies can serve as an early indicator of potential bankruptcy, which may have wide-ranging impacts on policyholders, shareholders, and the overall stability of the financial sector. Therefore, early detection of bankruptcy risk is critically important. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Springate model in identifying potential bankruptcy among insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2022–2024 period. The Springate model was chosen due to its simplicity and its ability to provide quantitative insights into a company's financial condition. Data were collected from the annual financial statements of 16 companies selected through purposive sampling based on the completeness and consistency of their financial reporting. The model applies the S-Score calculation as the basis for classifying companies into financial distress or non-financial distress categories. The analysis revealed that six companies consistently exhibited signs of financial difficulty, with three of them identified as being in a state of financial distress for three consecutive years. Meanwhile, the other ten companies demonstrated stable and healthy financial conditions throughout the observation period. These findings indicate that the Springate model is reasonably practical as an early detection tool for bankruptcy risk, particularly in the insurance sector, which is influenced by various internal factors such as risk management, as well as external factors like economic fluctuations and government regulations. Therefore, this model can be utilized as a decision-support tool for both management and investors in making strategic financial decisions.

The main issue addressed in this study is the gap between normative policies and actual practices regarding gender mainstreaming (GMS) at the Education Office of Tangerang Regency. The aim of this study is to analyze the implementation of GMS policies using Smith's theory, which includes ideal policy indicators, target groups, implementing organizations, and environmental factors. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that first, the ideal policy is outlined in Regent Regulation No. 10 of 2019; however, it has not been systematically elaborated in the Strategic Plan (RENSTRA) and Work Plan (RENJA) of the Education Office, limiting its implementation. Second, the target groups, such as teachers, students, and the general public, have not fully understood the concept of GMS, as the dissemination of information remains minimal and unfocused. Third, the implementing organization, the Education Office, has not yet optimized coordination in implementing GMS with schools, nor provided comprehensive, specialized training. Fourth, environmental factors, such as strong gender stereotypes, limited gender-friendly facilities, and low public awareness, are significant challenges in the policy’s implementation. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of GMS policies at the Education Office of Tangerang Regency remains symbolic and requires strengthening of institutions, more intensive socialization, and active involvement of all stakeholders to achieve more optimal success.

Stable temperature regulation is essential in various industries to maintain product quality and energy efficiency. This study analyzed the water temperature regulation system using PID control through MATLAB simulation and the actual implementation using Thermocontrol and PT100 sensors. In the simulation, the PID control parameters used were Kp = 3.0, Ki = 240, and Kd = 60, while the tuning results in the actual implementation were Kp = 3.0, Ki = 0.5, and Kd = 1.2. The simulation results showed that the system could reach the setpoint faster (±330 seconds), but with a high overshoot (±20.8°C). In contrast, the actual implementation shows more stable performance, with a much lower overshoot (±0.8°C) and a time to the setpoint of about ±345 seconds. These differences in performance can be influenced by environmental factors and the physical characteristics of real systems that are not fully reflected in the simulation. Although the simulation provides faster results, the actual implementation is more adaptive to changing conditions and better able to maintain temperature stability. This research can provide important insights into the development of more effective and reliable temperature control systems for industrial applications, as well as demonstrate the importance of proper tuning in PID control systems to achieve optimal performance.

Tempoyak is a traditional fermented paste made from durian in Indonesia, favored by the Malay ethnic group. While tempoyak holds a unique and significant place in Indonesia's rich culinary diversity, there is a notable gap in research about it compared to other fermented foods such as kimchi. More investigation is essential to grasp the microbial composition, interactions, and possible health advantages of tempoyak, which may offer benefits like boosting the immune system, reducing cholesterol levels, exhibiting probiotic qualities, preservation, and possessing antibacterial effects. Researchers could also discover vital insights regarding the history, cultural significance, production methods, microbiological issues, nutritional aspects, and future prospects of local foods like tempoyak. This research intends to examine and study tempoyak as a traditional fermented food through comprehensive literature review and data from earlier investigations. Tempoyak has a strong connection to Malay cultural identity, regardless of its production location. As a key element of the daily practices of the Malay people in Indonesia, tempoyak is typically featured at cultural events, weddings, or large gatherings. This cultural importance sets Indonesian tempoyak apart from its Malaysian counterpart. The process of making tempoyak involves mashing the durian flesh, mixing in salt, and letting the combined mixture ferment in a sealed container at room temperature for 4 to 7 days. The microbial population in tempoyak can differ but mainly includes Lactobacillus species, particularly Lactobacillus plantarum. Proximate analysis is an effective approach to evaluate the nutritional makeup of tempoyak. Differences in nutrient levels may arise from the various types of durian, salt elements, sterilization periods, temperatures, and length of fermentation. Potential research opportunities could explore tempoyak’s role in fostering sustainable food practices, additional health benefits from its consumption, and the development of innovative products based on tempoyak. The aim of this study will enhance the field and aid in safeguarding and promoting the culinary heritage of the Malay community.

Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a staple food that is widely consumed by the Indonesian population, especially in rural areas. However, during post-harvest handling and storage, cassava is highly susceptible to contamination by microorganisms, particularly fungi. These fungi can cause damage to the food, reduce its nutritional quality, and even produce mycotoxins that are harmful to human health. The increased risk of contamination has become an important concern in efforts to improve the quality and safety of cassava food products. This study aimed to identify the morphology of fungal colonies and the characteristics of fungal cell walls isolated from cassava stored in open environmental conditions for several days. The methods used in this study included isolation using Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media, macroscopic observation of fungal colony morphology, including color, edge, elevation, and texture, as well as Gram staining to observe the fungal cell wall properties. The results of this study revealed a diversity of fungal colony morphology, with three dominant types suspected to belong to the genera Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Rhizopus. Gram staining showed that the three isolates were characterized as Gram-negative, indicated by the absorption of safranin as the secondary stain. This study provides an initial overview of the types of fungi that may develop on cassava during storage, and it offers a foundation for further studies on the toxicity and food microbiology applications related to cassava. Morphological identification and Gram staining play an essential role in the initial screening before molecular identification is performed.

This research investigates the relationship between fiscal decentralization, economic growth, and income inequality (measured by the Gini ratio) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in regencies and cities within Bali Province during the 2013–2023 period. Human development is a crucial indicator of regional welfare, and understanding the factors that shape HDI is essential for designing effective regional development policies. A quantitative approach was employed through panel data regression, utilizing secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The findings indicate that fiscal decentralization has a positive and significant effect on HDI, suggesting that greater regional fiscal authority can improve public service delivery and social welfare. Conversely, economic growth demonstrates a significant negative relationship with HDI, which implies that growth alone does not automatically translate into improved human development, particularly when it is unevenly distributed. In addition, income inequality shows a negative and significant effect on HDI, confirming that disparities in income hinder broader improvements in welfare. Collectively, these variables significantly explain variations in HDI across regencies and cities in Bali. The policy implications emphasize the need to strengthen regional fiscal capacity, reduce income inequality, and encourage inclusive economic growth to ensure that economic progress contributes effectively to enhancing human development.
