This article examines the relationship between the Old Testament (OT) and the New Testament (NT) through a qualitative approach with a literature review method. The study aims to identify theological continuities and discontinuities between the two parts of the Bible as well as outline how the narrative of God's salvation develops from the OT to the NT. The analysis was conducted by examining various primary and secondary literature from theological scholars, biblical historians and commentators. The results show that despite differences in historical context and theological development, the OT and NT have an integral and complementary relationship, especially in terms of the fulfilment of prophecy, Messianic conception, and the unfolding of God's plan of salvation. The findings are expected to enrich the understanding of contemporary Christian theology and contribute to the dialogue between the OT and NT exegetical traditions.

This article aims to explain the theological relationship between Israel and the Church as God's people, as discussed in biblical studies, and to relate it to the history and development of the Church in Indonesia. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, this paper explores key theological concepts regarding Israel and the Church, examining how these understandings shape the Church’s mission, identity, and role. The study spans from the colonial era to the digital age, highlighting how historical and cultural contexts influence ecclesial expressions. The article argues that while the Church does not replace Israel as God's covenant people, it participates in God's redemptive plan through Christ. In the Indonesian context, the Church manifests its identity as God's chosen people by embracing local wisdom, cultural diversity, and a contextual mission. This dynamic relationship reflects the Church’s calling to live out its faith in Christ within a pluralistic society, contributing to nation-building and bearing witness to the Gospel in relevant and transformative ways.

The article discusses about history and development of two main Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, Islamic boarding schools and madrasahs are well-known educational institutions in the Islamic tradition. Islamic boarding schools, in particular, have existed as traditional institutions since the early period of Islam's spread throughout the Indonesian archipelago, with a dormitory-based education system and teaching of yellow books. Meanwhile, madrasahs emerged as a response to the need for more systematic and structured Islamic education, especially during the period of Islamic renewal and colonialism. Through a historical-descriptive approach. This paper examines the developmental trajectories and growth dynamics of the two institutions, as well as their important roles in shaping the identity and direction of Islamic education in Indonesia. The findings indicate that, despite differences in their educational approaches and systems, Islamic boarding schools and madrasahs function complementarily in fulfilling the roles of religious and social education within the community.

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using the lecture method to enhance students’ comprehension of Ottoman Turkish History in class VIII at SMPN 1 Telagasari. The primary issue identified is the students' low grasp of historical content, which tends to be chronological and information-heavy. The study adopts a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection phases. Data collection was done using a 20-item multiple-choice test and analyzed quantitatively. Findings revealed that only 10% of students passed in the pre-cycle with an average score of 25, increasing to 40% in the first cycle with an average score of 35, and reaching 45% in the second cycle with an average score of 45. Despite the incremental improvements, the outcomes did not meet the minimum success criteria (≥75% of students achieving the passing score). This indicates that the lecture method alone has limitations in significantly enhancing students’ understanding unless integrated with more interactive teaching strategies.

This article explores the meaning of millennials in Revelation 20:1–6 through the lens of amillennialism within the framework of Reformed theology. The millennium—the thousand-year period of Christ's reign—is a central issue in Christian eschatological discussions, giving rise to three main views: premillennialism, postmillennialism, and amillennialism. Using historical-theological hermeneutics as well as the study of literature, this paper examines the symbolic meaning of the book of Revelation and how it has been interpreted throughout the history of the church. The amillennial approach interprets that Christ has reigned spiritually since His resurrection through His presence in the church, and that the millennium is not a literal period in the future, but rather describes the present era of the church. This understanding rejects the view of a literal thousand-year kingdom and focuses on Christ's ongoing work on the world. Therefore, the proper interpretation of millennials influences.

Christology, as the study of the person and work of Jesus Christ, is central to the Christian faith and influences mission and religious practice. This study analyzes the basic understanding of Christology, its relationship to mission, its role in cultural contexts, and its development from the first Christian generation to contemporary life. Christological challenges identified include the tension between Jesus' humanity and divinity, and the contextualization of Christ's teachings in a pluralistic society. The findings show that a comprehensive christological understanding can bridge cultural differences and enrich interfaith dialog. The study also underscores the importance of applying Christological principles in daily life to create positive social impact and strengthen mission commitments.

This article examines the foundational role of traditional methods in Arabic language instruction by exploring classical pedagogies rooted in Islamic educational heritage. Amid the rising dominance of modern and communicative approaches, a critical reassessment of historical methods—such as imlāʾ, talqīn, qirāʾah jahrīyah, ḥifẓ, and tarjamah—is necessary to understand their pedagogical strengths, limitations, and philosophical underpinnings. This study employs a reflective literature-based method that draws upon classical Islamic texts, modern comparative analyses, and recent academic contributions to reconstruct the theoretical framework of traditional instruction. Findings reveal that while classical methods emphasized memorization, authority, and textual mastery, they also embodied a coherent epistemology centered on ethical formation (adab), teacher–student transmission (taqlīd), and spiritual-intellectual integration. These methods were not only instructional techniques but were embedded within broader ontological and axiological assumptions about knowledge, language, and human development. The study argues that rather than being entirely outdated, elements of traditional pedagogy remain relevant and can be selectively integrated into modern educational models to balance structure with creativity, discipline with dialogue. By critically reviewing classical pedagogies, this article contributes to the discourse on Arabic language curriculum reform, especially in Islamic institutions seeking to preserve identity while engaging contemporary educational challenges

This article explores the contextualisation of Christianity within Chinese culture by examining how Christian worship can embrace local wisdom and cultural values. Contextualisation plays a crucial role in ensuring that the expression of Christian faith remains both theologically sound and cul-turally resonant. In the Chinese context, where ancestral reverence, symbolic traditions, and fami-ly-centered values are deeply embedded, a sensitive and thoughtful approach is required. The study employs a qualitative method through a literature review of theological writings, historical records, and cultural analyses to investigate how Christian theology can engage meaningfully with Chinese traditions. The findings reveal that certain cultural elements—such as ancestor honour, which is central to filial piety; the colour red, symbolising prosperity and joy; and the collectivist view of family—can be reinterpreted within a Christian framework. Ancestor honour, for instance, can be seen not as idol worship but as a celebration of faith heritage and family lineage. The use of tradi-tional music, symbols, and festivals such as Chinese New Year in church services demonstrates that cultural integration is possible without compromising the gospel's core message. Moreover, the emphasis on harmony and extended family in Chinese society parallels the Christian concept of koinonia, or spiritual fellowship. By embracing these cultural values, churches in China can present the Christian faith in ways that are both biblically faithful and culturally meaningful. This research underscores the importance of contextual theology in nurturing indigenous expressions of Chris-tianity that honor both Christ and culture.

The collapse of the Fatimid power created a political vacuum and disintegration in Egypt and its surrounding areas. The Ayyubid Dynasty, founded by Saladin al-Ayyubi, emerged as a new force that not only succeeded in ending Shiite domination in Egypt, but also united various Sunni Islamic forces in the regions of Syria, Hijaz, and parts of Iraq. Through military policies, diplomacy, and religious reform, the Ayyubid Dynasty played a central role in consolidating power and raising the spirit of unity among Muslims, especially in facing external threats such as the Crusades. This article uses a historical-descriptive approach with qualitative analysis of primary and secondary sources to examine the Ayyubid contribution in building political stability and strengthening Islamic identity post-Fatimid.

Baju bodo is one of the oldest traditional clothes in Indonesia that has high historical, symbolic, and philosophical value. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that baju bodo not only functions as a body cover, but also represents social status, local aesthetic values, and cultural wisdom that is passed down from generation to generation. The transformation of the design, color, and material of baju bodo is an adaptive strategy to remain relevant amidst the development of the times without eliminating its traditional meaning. This innovation allows baju bodo to be used in modern contexts such as formal events, education, and fashion shows. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between cultural communities, government, and local designers to maintain the sustainability of cultural heritage. Thus, baju bodo remains a symbol of the Bugis-Makassar cultural identity that is alive, developing, and proud in the modern era

This research aims to analyze the compatibility of the sea sand export policy, as outlined in Government Regulation No. 26 of 2023 and its implementing regulations in Minister of Trade Regulations No. 20 and 21, with the principles of ecological justice. The research is driven by concerns over the ecological impacts of sea sand exploitation and the potential conflict between economic interests and environmental protection. Using a normative juridical approach and analysis of prevailing laws and regulations, the study finds that the current regulatory framework does not fully reflect the principles of ecological justice. The policy fails to ensure equitable protection for coastal communities and the marine environment. Government Regulation No. 26/2023 does not explicitly mandate Environmental Impact Assessments (AMDAL), does not emphasize conservation as a fundamental principle, and allows room for exploitation in vulnerable coastal and small island areas. Moreover, historical data reveals that similar policies in the past have led to coastal erosion, the loss of outermost islands, and state losses due to illegal practices. Therefore, without proper reassessment and alignment with environmental justice principles, this policy risks exacerbating ecological inequalities.

This study aims to identify the optimal model in the integration of philosophical disciplines in the structure of the educational program of “Public Administration” students, as well as explore the features of the management of educational strategies suitable for the training of civil servants. The main focus of this research is: 1) academic management strategies to overcome curriculum overlap due to the dominance of philosophical disciplines in public administration study programs; 2) adaptation of educational programs for public administration students to be in line with the needs of the world of work, both at national and international levels; 3) characteristics of internationalization of public administration education programs, especially in the context of academic mobility and adaptation of the Indonesian public administration system to global standards. This research uses the cultural-historical analysis approach, comparative method, structural-functional method, and expert evaluation to explore and analyze problems and develop solutions. The research findings show that the dominance of traditional philosophy courses in the curriculum is often ineffective in shaping the competencies needed in the world of work. The research identified three main challenges: saturation of the curriculum with theoretical courses, lack of connection between the curriculum and the practical needs of the working world, and low use of English in teaching key courses. To address these issues, this research proposes restructuring the curriculum through the integration of three disciplinary groups: applied logic, cultural studies, and applied political science. In addition, the implementation of a contextualized bilingual learning model is also considered as a solution to improve the relevance of the curriculum. The uniqueness of this article lies in its approach that combines philosophical studies with managerial strategies in curriculum design, complemented by empirical experiences from international and cross-institutional cooperation. This article offers a reinterpretation of the utilization of philosophy as a tool for the development of professional competence in public administration education, not just as an abstract worldview.

This study examines the role of the church in dealing with political dynamics in Indonesia, especially in the context of colonial and post-independence history. Indonesia is a country with historical and cultural uniqueness, including in terms of religious diversity that grew amidst the dominance of colonial powers. Although Islam developed rapidly under the Christian Dutch colonialism, the spread of Christianity continued significantly, especially through Portuguese Catholic missions and non-Dutch Protestant mission organizations. The role of the church in Indonesian history shows the tension between political authority and the autonomy of religious institutions, where the church often fell victim to colonial political control but survived and developed through social, educational, and public service roles. This study highlights how the church continues to have relevance and influence in the context of modern nationality and politics, despite facing historical and structural challenges. Through a historical-critical approach, this study seeks to uncover the dynamics of the church's role in the trajectory of Indonesian politics and its contribution to building a just and plural society.

This article analyzes the depiction of Jesus Christ from various scriptural perspectives and examines the impact of the diversity of Christological experiences on Christian faith. Research shows that the Bible presents a varied picture of Jesus: Mark's Gospel presents Him as the Suffering but Powerful Servant; Matthew as the Messianic King and Great Teacher; John as the eternal Logos (Word); and Revelation depicts Him through symbols of glory as King, Judge, and Redeemer. The diversity of Christological experiences produces positive impacts in the form of deeper understanding, theological enrichment, and facilitation of interfaith dialogue. However, this diversity also has the potential to cause misunderstandings, theological conflicts, and identity crises if not properly understood. This article also explores how cultural and historical backgrounds significantly influence interpretations of Jesus, from the first-century Jewish context to contemporary interpretations in various global cultural contexts. In conclusion, although understandings of Jesus continue to evolve according to context, it is important for people to maintain their theological identity while remaining open to various enriching perspectives.

This study examines the theological thought of Christian education by Robert Raikes as the pioneer of Sunday School within its historical context and its contribution to the development of Christian education. The purpose of this research is to reveal the theological background and motivations behind Raikes' initiation of church-based education and its impact on society and the church today. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing historical and theological sources. The findings show that Raikes had a deep concern for the social and moral condition of poor children in 18th century England, which led him to establish Sunday Schools as a means of religious and character education. Raikes' educational thoughts and practices became a crucial foundation for the development of modern Christian education. The implication of this research is the need for today’s churches and Christian educational institutions to emulate Raikes' spirit of service and social concern in delivering transformative education.
