The homicide arising from the victim’s refusal to terminate her pregnancy presents a crucial issue regarding how the element of intent is constructed within Indonesian criminal law. This study originates from the need to examine the extent to which the offender’s motive triggered by anger after the victim declined his request for an abortion may influence the classification of dolus in the act of killing. The objective of this research is to describe the characteristics of intent in the perpetrator’s actions, determine whether the incident meets the criteria of dolus directus, dolus indirectus, or dolus eventualis, and assess the role of motive in shaping criminal liability. The method employed is normative legal research using a case approach and a statute approach, supported by the analysis of comparable court decisions and criminal law doctrines concerning the element of intent. The research findings indicate that the perpetrator’s deliberate assault on the victim after she rejected the request to terminate the pregnancy can be categorized as dolus directus, as he both realized and desired the lethal outcome of his conduct as an expression of anger. The motive related to the refusal of pregnancy responsibility does not negate intent; rather, it merely serves as a trigger for the criminal act. Thus, the element of intent in this case can be firmly constructed through an assessment of the perpetrator’s will, awareness, and conduct, thereby ensuring the accurate application of homicide provisions and providing legal certainty regarding the limits of criminal liability in pregnancy-related conflicts.

The advancement of information technology has increased very rapidly, one of which can be seen from the use of cell phones as the main communication tool. However, this progress also creates a gap, for the emergence of cybercrime such as fraud through short messages or called Short Message Service (SMS). Fraud via SMS by offering prizes is one form of misuse of information technology that is increasingly prevalent in the digital era. This mode of fraud is often carried out because it takes advantage of the lack of public awareness of information security and tends to target individuals who do not understand how communication technology works. This article discusses how the mechanism of fraud carried out via SMS, the impact caused to victims, and how legal regulations in Indonesia handle prize fraud via SMS. This research uses normative research methods conducted through data collection from various references including journals and laws and regulations. This research is expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the role of law in tackling SMS-based fraud and offer solutions that can strengthen consumer protection in the digital era.

This research offers an in-depth examination of three primary Sharia monetary tools—Sukuk, the Sharia Interbank Money Market (PUAS), and Sharia Repo—aimed at enhancing the resilience of Islamic financial systems in Indonesia. Through a descriptive review of existing literature, the paper details Sukuk as asset-supported securities for medium- to long-term funding, PUAS operations grounded in mudharabah and wakalah agreements for brief interbank dealings, and Sharia Repo via SBSN sell-and-buyback arrangements to streamline Sharia bank liquidity. Results indicate these tools work in tandem to handle surplus funds, curb inflation, and bolster Bank Indonesia's monetary framework absent any speculative practices. Policy recommendations emphasize advancing education efforts, regulatory innovations, and infrastructural upgrades to promote equitable expansion within Sharia finance.

The cigarette industry in Dawe District, Kudus, has been the backbone of the local economy for decades. However, this heavy dependence on a single industrial sector creates economic vulnerability, especially when production fluctuations or policy changes affect the tobacco industry. An economic empowerment program through agricultural entrepreneurship skills is highly relevant in this context. Modern agriculture using wick hydroponic technology and mini Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) offers an appropriate solution because it has characteristics that are suited to the geographic and socioeconomic conditions of the Dawe community. This PKM program has proven that economic empowerment through technology and skills transfer can be an effective strategy for increasing community income. Based on the results achieved, it is recommended to replicate similar programs in other areas with similar characteristics. Furthermore, ongoing monitoring and evaluation are necessary to ensure the sustainability of the businesses pioneered by participants. Collaboration with relevant agencies and microfinance institutions can strengthen participants' access to capital for broader business development.

Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder that disrupts cognition, emotion, perception, and behavior, significantly affecting daily functioning and social interaction. Paranoid schizophrenia, a well-recognized subtype, is characterized by persistent paranoid delusions, frequently accompanied by hallucinations—most commonly auditory—and other perceptual disturbances, often leading to unpredictable or aggressive behaviors. A 34-year-old male patient, Mr. A, was brought to Cut Meutia General Hospital on February 9, 2024, by his father and the village chief due to episodes of aggression. The patient reported that his behavior occurred because a creature was controlling his body and disturbing him. His family indicated that he had experienced similar episodes in the past and had previously been hospitalized for the same condition. Based on established clinical guidelines, he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. Pharmacological management was initiated, including risperidone, clozapine, lodemer injection, diazepam injection, divalproex, and trihexyphenidyl, targeting psychotic symptoms, agitation, and behavioral disturbances, with the aim of stabilizing his mental state, preventing further aggressive episodes, and supporting overall functional recovery.

The ecological crisis affecting Central Kalimantan reveals systemic environmental degradation, ranging from deforestation and river pollution to peatland destruction caused by massive extractive activities. The impact of this crisis extends beyond ecological damage, disrupting the social, cultural, and spiritual order of the Dayak Indigenous communities. This article aims to reflect on Dayak communal spirituality as a path toward ecological conversion in the light of the encyclical Laudato Si’. Employing a qualitative approach through theological–contextual hermeneutics and library research, this study examines the dialogue between Dayak cosmology, communal life values, and the Catholic Church’s vision of integral ecology. The findings indicate that Dayak communal spirituality affirms a reciprocal relationship among humans, nature, the community, and the Creator, which resonates with the call for ecological conversion articulated in Laudato Si’. This article argues that integrating Dayak communal spirituality into the Church’s pastoral praxis holds transformative potential in fostering ecological awareness, strengthening the inculturation of faith, and encouraging the active participation of the faithful in caring for our common home in a sustainable manner.

The concept of the Day of the LORD in the prophetic tradition of the Old Testament is often narrowly understood as a day of victory and salvation for Israel. However, the book of Amos offers a sharp critique of such an interpretation. This study aims to examine the eschatological meaning of the Day of the LORD in Amos 5:18–24 as a moment of judgment and restoration. This research employs a qualitative method with a biblical hermeneutical approach, particularly historical-contextual and theological analysis of Amos 5:18–24. The findings indicate that the Day of the LORD is portrayed as a divine event that brings judgment against social injustice, religious hypocrisy, and ethical deviation among the people of Israel. At the same time, the text opens the possibility of restoration through the demand for justice and righteousness as expressions of true worship. Therefore, Amos’s eschatology is not speculative about the future but functions as a prophetic critique that calls for repentance and social transformation. This study affirms that the Day of the LORD remains contextually relevant for the contemporary church in integrating faith, worship, and social justice as an inseparable unity.

Injustice against women in contemporary Islamic law practice is still a serious problem, especially in cases of divorce, child custody, and the division of common property, which are often decided textually without considering the social, economic, and psychological aspects of women. This phenomenon shows that the application of Islamic law is still normative and does not fully reflect substantive justice as the purpose of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah. This research aims to analyze the nature of justice for women in the modern era, identify the steps needed to realize this justice, and formulate Islamic legal solutions based on maqāṣid al-syarī'ah that can be applied contextually in the religious justice system. The research method used is qualitative with a normative-empirical approach through literature analysis, case studies, and empirical data from religious court decisions and reports of official institutions such as Komnas Perempuan. The results of the study show that justice for women can only be achieved through a dynamic maqāṣid approach, by placing the interests of women and children above the legal-formalities of classical fiqh. The efforts needed include the integration of empirical data in judges' decisions, reform of religious justice policies, increasing the capacity of judges in understanding maqāṣid, and empowering women through legal literacy.

Paid online matchmaking services that have developed through Facebook use consumer profiles to promote and find partners. This practice raises legal issues, particularly those related to consumer protection and the risk of digital harassment—also known as cyberbullying—in the form of derogatory, discriminatory, or offensive comments about consumers' personal standards that are displayed publicly. The purpose of this study is to assess the legal liability of business actors for cyberbullying when operating online matchmaking services and to assess the extent to which legal protection tools are available to consumers. This study uses a normative legal approach, utilizing case studies of legislation and conceptual studies on the practice of paid matchmaking services on social media. The results of the study show that businesses are required to guarantee the safety, comfort, and protection of consumer rights in all digital-based commercial activities, including managing content and interacting with people on social media. Non-material losses, such as psychological pressure and abuse of consumer dignity, are caused by a lack of supervision and a lack of moderate comment mechanisms. Therefore, regulations on personal data protection must be strengthened, content moderation responsibilities must be determined, and legal accountability mechanisms for business actors in the digital ta'aruf business must be made clear.

This article examines various guidance and counseling (BK) management models relevant to the context of modern education in Indonesia. The models discussed include POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) management, comprehensive BK services, school-based BK management, specialized service management, and the use of digitalization in BK services. This review was compiled using a literature review method, drawing on various credible national sources, such as scientific journals, reference books, and education policy documents. The purpose of this research is to provide an in-depth understanding of the characteristics, principles, and implementation of each BK management model in educational practice. The results indicate that each model has its own advantages and limitations, both in terms of service planning, resource management, and the effectiveness of service delivery to students. Therefore, the selection and implementation of a BK management model must be tailored to the needs of the school, the availability of professional staff, infrastructure, and student characteristics. The integration of a systematic, data-driven, and adaptive management approach to developments in information technology is a key factor in improving the quality and effectiveness of BK services. This article is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions to school counselors, educators, and education policymakers.

This study aims to analyze the major challenges in regional financial management that affect the quality of the implementation of regional autonomy in Indonesia. Regional financial management plays a crucial role in achieving fiscal independence and ensuring the effectiveness of local governance. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature review approach by examining various scholarly sources, legal regulations, policy reports, and relevant previous studies. The analysis reveals three recurring and interrelated issues: the high level of fiscal dependence of local governments on the central government, the limited capacity and competence of regional financial management personnel, and the persistence of budget misuse reflecting weak governance and oversight mechanisms. These challenges form structural barriers to the realization of fiscal self-reliance and accountable local governance. The study emphasizes that improving regional financial management cannot be carried out in a partial or fragmented manner but requires a comprehensive approach involving the enhancement of human resource capacity, reform of budgeting systems and mechanisms, and the strengthening of transparency and public accountability. Therefore, improving regional financial governance is a strategic step toward achieving effective, sustainable regional autonomy that is oriented toward public welfare.

Elderly people are individuals aged 60 and over who have equal rights in community life. The emotional state of the elderly is a psychological state that encompasses the ability to think, feel, and act, as manifested through behavior. To stabilize the emotions of the elderly, cadres and their families must have an adequate level of emotional intelligence. One non-pharmacological approach currently being studied is the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT), an emotional healing method that combines spiritual elements, positive affirmations, and stimulation of the body's meridian points. SEFT is believed to reduce psychological stress that contributes to high blood pressure. This therapy is easy to learn, can be performed independently, and requires no special equipment, making it highly suitable for use in elderly communities with limited access to advanced medical services. At this event, counselors provided support in delivering material on Motivation and Prevention of Psychological Disorders in the Elderly using the SEFT. The purpose of this material is to provide motivation, reduce, and prevent psychological impacts. Participants benefited from the material, knowledge, and experience sharing, as well as solutions, resulting in a better understanding of motivation, reduction, and prevention of psychological impacts. This community service program was conducted with approximately 33 participants in the "Teratai" elderly group. It is hoped that this community service program will be beneficial and provide considerations for solutions and decisions, adding information and insight related to motivation, reduction, and prevention of psychological impacts.
