Malaria remains a significant public health problem in several endemic areas in Indonesia. Understanding temporal and epidemiological changes at the local level is crucial for effective malaria control and elimination. This study aims to analyze changes in malaria epidemiological patterns based on routine surveillance data at the Yaro Community Health Center, Indonesia, during the period 2023–2025. This is a retrospective, longitudinal descriptive study using routine malaria surveillance data. Variables analyzed include temporal trends, Plasmodium species distribution, demographic characteristics, spatial distribution, and case-finding strategies. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequencies and proportions. A total of 9,677 malaria examinations were recorded, with 546 confirmed cases. Malaria cases showed a significant increase in 2025. Plasmodium vivax was the most dominant species, with a steadily increasing proportion of mixed infections. Adults aged 15–64 years and men were the most affected groups. Spatial analysis showed regional heterogeneity with persistent hotspots at the village level. Passive case detection remains the primary method, while active surveillance is increasingly contributing to case identification. Malaria epidemiology in the Yaro region exhibits dynamic temporal, demographic, and spatial patterns. Strengthening integrated surveillance and targeted interventions is essential to address persistent transmission and support malaria elimination efforts.

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a common complication in early pregnancy characterized by excessive nausea and vomiting that can negatively affect maternal health and quality of life. Although pharmacological management is widely used, concerns regarding medication safety during pregnancy have increased interest in complementary and non-pharmacological interventions. One such approach is aromatherapy, particularly the use of lavender essential oil, which is known for its calming and antiemetic properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy in reducing the frequency of hyperemesis gravidarum among pregnant women at RSUD Tikep. This research employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest approach. A total of 30 first-trimester pregnant women experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum were selected using purposive sampling. The intervention involved inhalation of lavender aromatherapy administered for a predetermined duration and frequency. The frequency of nausea and vomiting was measured before and after the intervention using observation sheets and self-reported records. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, including descriptive statistics, normality tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results demonstrated a significant reduction in the mean frequency of hyperemesis gravidarum following the administration of lavender aromatherapy. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pre-intervention and post-intervention measurements. These findings suggest that lavender aromatherapy effectively reduces the frequency of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. In conclusion, lavender aromatherapy is a safe, low-cost, and effective complementary therapy for managing hyperemesis gravidarum. Its integration into routine antenatal care may enhance maternal comfort and support holistic, patient-centered maternity services, particularly in regional healthcare settings.

A fracture occurs when bone continuity is disrupted due to external pressure or force that exceeds the bone's capacity. Fractures constitute a medical emergency requiring immediate treatment. A primary surgical intervention for this condition is the Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) procedure, which aims to reposition broken bone fragments to their normal anatomy. This procedure is considered crucial for achieving proper bone union and minimizing the potential for postoperative complications. As a consequence of the surgical incision and tissue trauma, patients commonly experience postoperative pain. The management of this pain can broadly be categorized into two approaches: pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Among non-pharmacological methods, cold compress therapy has proven effective in alleviating pain in patients following ORIF surgery. The sensation of pain can be alleviated through the application of a cold pack by inhibiting sensory nerve conduction and suppressing local inflammation. Simultaneously, cryotherapy also reduces blood flow to the injury site, which in turn limits blood extravasation and the accumulation of edema fluid. A descriptive case study analysis of four patients with acute pain after lower extremity ORIF surgery. The effectiveness of the intervention was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS).: The application of cold compresses using cold packs for 3 days to 4 respondents before the cold compress was applied was on a pain scale of 6–7 (moderate to severe category), after the intervention the pain scale became 2–3 (mild category). The results indicate that cold compress therapy in patients with lower extremity post-ORIF fractures is effective in reducing pain levels. Therefore, cold compress therapy is recommended as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce pain in patients with fractures after ORIF.

The development of digital technology and the widespread use of social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok, have opened opportunities for online interaction but also increased the risk of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is aggressive behavior via digital media intended to harm or degrade others. One psychological factor believed to influence this behavior is emotional regulation, which is the ability to manage and express emotions appropriately in different situations. This study aims to examine the relationship between emotional regulation and cyberbullying behavior among early adult students in Jambi. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was used, involving 127 students aged 18–25 years, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire, which included an emotional regulation scale and a cyberbullying behavior scale. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with SPSS software. The results showed a significant negative relationship between emotional regulation and cyberbullying behavior, with a correlation coefficient of r = -0.632 and a significance level of p < 0.001. This indicates that students with better emotional regulation skills are less likely to engage in cyberbullying. Thus, enhancing emotional regulation skills could be an effective strategy in preventing cyberbullying among students.

This study aimed to determine the relationship between shyness and social anxiety in new students in the Faculty of Psychology at Satya Wacana Christian University (UKSW). The method used was quantitative, using a simple random sampling technique involving 99 subjects. This study measured shyness and social anxiety using two instruments: the RCBS 13 for shyness and the SAS-A for social anxiety. The collected data were then analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment statistical method to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results showed no significant relationship between shyness and social anxiety in new students, with a correlation (R) of 0.86 and a significance level of 0.398 (P > 0.05). This indicates that high levels of shyness in new students do not directly correlate with their levels of social anxiety. This means that higher levels of shyness do not necessarily lead to increased levels of social anxiety. This finding contradicts several previous studies that suggested a positive relationship between shyness and social anxiety. This study provides new insights into the psychological dynamics experienced by new students, particularly in the UKSW Faculty of Psychology, which should be considered in developing orientation programs or mental health support for new students. Furthermore, these findings also open up opportunities for further research that could explore other factors influencing the relationship between shyness and social anxiety.

One of the issues raised is about social changes in society, namely how a person must respond to these changes in order to be able to carry them out according to the teachings of the Qur'an. As part of a complex community of ever-changing and dynamic social individuals, society is not something fixed or stagnant. This is due to the fact that people experience various social relationships through social processes that occur due to living together. Interaction between individuals, cultural developments, and the dynamics of social values and norms also affect the way people view their daily lives. In this context, the Qur'an provides moral and ethical guidelines that can be the foundation for building harmonious and just social relationships. Values such as care, justice, social responsibility, and respect for fellow human beings are important principles emphasized in the teachings of the Qur'an. Therefore, social education based on the values of the Qur'an has an important role in shaping individual character to be able to adapt to social changes without abandoning moral and humanitarian principles. Given the importance of this issue related to social education, the author argues that research on social education will delve into this topic with a focus on social education based on the Qur'an.

Academic procrastination is the behavior of deliberately delaying the completion of tasks even though individuals are aware of the negative consequences for their learning outcomes. This phenomenon is commonly found among students at various educational levels, ranging from secondary school to higher education, and often results in decreased academic achievement, lower quality of completed assignments, and increased levels of academic stress among students. This condition indicates that academic procrastination has become an important issue that requires attention within the educational process. This study aims to examine self-regulation as an indicator for the early detection of academic procrastination in the context of guidance and counseling services in educational settings. The method used in this study is a literature review by analyzing various scientific journal articles relevant to the research topic. The results of the review show a consistent negative relationship between self-regulation and academic procrastination. Students who possess a high level of self-regulation tend to be more capable of managing their time, emotions, and learning motivation effectively, enabling them to be more disciplined in completing academic tasks. Conversely, low levels of self-regulation contribute to an increased tendency to delay academic tasks. These findings confirm that self-regulation can serve as a strategic indicator for early detection as well as a target for preventive interventions through guidance and counseling services in schools.

Public accountability is a key principle in the implementation of good governance, particularly in fulfilling the responsibilities of local governments. One instrument of this accountability is the Regional Government Administration Report (Laporan Penyelenggaraan Pemerintahan Daerah / LPPD), which is prepared annually by regional heads and submitted to the central government. This study aims to analyze public accountability in the preparation of the LPPD in Ponorogo Regency. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. Informants include the LPPD preparation team at the Regional Secretariat of Ponorogo Regency and Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) involved in providing data. The analysis uses accountability indicators including responsiveness, debate forums, coordination, autonomy, clarity of performance evaluation standards, negotiation, accountability campaigns, evaluation and feedback, and participation and responsiveness to environmental changes. The results indicate that the preparation of the LPPD in Ponorogo Regency has followed administrative procedures and is supported by the involvement of regional agencies and a digital-based reporting system. However, its implementation remains less than optimal, particularly in terms of responsiveness of regional agencies, cross-sector coordination, public accountability campaigns, and mechanisms for public participation.
