Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human is one of the most devastating Japanese literature that portrays the inner turmoil of human beings in a very emotional way. The main character, Oba Yozo, is characterized by alienation, despair and identity crisis. This study is meant to identify the types of emotional expressions that appear in the original text and trace the translation techniques used in the two translated versions. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a comparative approach utilizing Molina & Albir’s translation technique theory and Nababan’s translation accuracy indicators. The analysis results show that Keene tends to use literal and amplification translation techniques to preserve the psychological depth of the characters, while Hanafi is more frequently employs modulation and reduction techniques with the aims of simplifying the language style. Some quotations also highlight differences in accuracy levels that impact the conveyance of emotions to readers. The conclusion of this study affirms that translation techniques not only influence sentence structure but also determine how readers interpret the internal conflicts of characters and the atmosphere of the story in the target text

Agar is the main medium used in microbiology laboratories to grow bacteria and fungi because of its ability to form stable gels that are not easily degraded by microorganisms. However, the availability of expensive commercial agar and dependence on imports is a challenge for small-scale laboratories. This literature study aims to review the potential of natural materials such as local seaweed (Gracilaria sp.), banana peels, cassava starch, and coconut pulp as alternative media for microorganism growth. The results of the study indicate that Gracilaria has the ability to form gels similar to commercial agar, while banana peels and cassava starch are rich in nutrients but require the addition of thickeners. The main challenge lies in the sterilization process and media consistency. The use of these materials can be a cheap and sustainable solution in the development of microbiology media based on local resources.

Human Trafficking is a non-traditional security issue that is of particular concern for the Southeast Asian region. Thailand is the country that is most highlighted for this case, especially in sexual exploitation in the form of prostitution. Prostitution in Thailand is even included in the category of tourism for foreign tourists. This prostitution tourism contributes 60% of the country's income for the tourism sector, exceeding half of tourism income. Prostitution tourism is certainly very closely related to human trafficking, as can be seen in commercial sex workers (CSWs) who are mostly minors and women. The deep-rooted culture is a trigger for the rise of CSWs who mostly come from rural communities. The culture that comes from Buddhism as the largest teaching in Thailand is "returning favors", namely that children are obliged to help the family economy. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with a library research data collection technique to see the problem of human trafficking in Thailand with a constructivist approach. The results of the study will discuss human trafficking in Thailand, local culture that has an impact on the problem of human trafficking, and international responses to this problem. With this understanding, it is hoped that we will be able to see the problem of human trafficking from a social and normative perspective, which has so far only focused on international cooperation and law enforcement.

West Sumatra Province, particularly Tanah Datar Regency, is one of Indonesia’s disaster-prone regions, recently affected by a cold lahar flood triggered by the volcanic activity of Mount Marapi. This disaster caused severe infrastructure damage and fatalities, posing significant challenges to the effectiveness of social aid distribution under emergency conditions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of adaptive governance principles in the distribution of social assistance by the Social Affairs Office of Tanah Datar Regency, focusing on four main pillars: collaboration, coordination, social capital development, and capacity building. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, involving in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation of 15 key informants from various stakeholders. The findings reveal that collaborative and coordinative practices have been functionally applied but remain largely informal and undocumented within a systematic framework. Community social capital played a critical role in supporting aid distribution, though it has yet to be fully institutionalized. Meanwhile, institutional and human resource capacity faces limitations, particularly in the use of information technology and preparedness for large-scale disasters. The study concludes that the application of adaptive governance in disaster management requires strengthened coordination structures, real-time information systems, and active community engagement across all governance processes. This research contributes both theoretically and practically to developing a more resilient, inclusive, and responsive model for post-disaster social aid distribution.

Abstract. The environment is not merely a legal object, but rather a living space for humans that is intertwined with the continuity of life itself. In this context, the criminalization of environmental crimes must be understood as an effort to uphold substantive justice, not merely the fulfillment of legal procedures. This article examines the comparison between the 2023 Criminal Code and Law No. 32 of 2009 (Environmental Protection and Management Law), as well as the alignment of both in responding to ecological crimes. With a normative juridical approach and philosophical analysis, a tension was found between the formalistic approach in the Criminal Code and the ecological approach in the Environmental Protection and Management Law. This inconsistency has the potential to obscure the substance of environmental justice. Therefore, a renewal of the penal paradigm that favors the intrinsic value of nature and the principle of sustainability is necessary.

Natural and non-natural disasters significantly disrupt healthcare systems, particularly obstetric and gynecological services, which are highly vulnerable to service interruptions and quality decline. Pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and newborns face an increased risk of complications and mortality without adequate medical care. Health professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of reproductive health services through the implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP), emergency management, health education, and intersectoral coordination. However, challenges such as limited resources, psychological pressure, and lack of specialized training hinder optimal performance. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers, enhancing disaster preparedness, providing adequate logistics, and enacting supportive governmental policies are essential to maintain effective obstetric-gynecological care during crises. This literature review comprehensively discusses the role of health workers in ensuring reproductive health services in disaster settings as a strategy to improve access and service quality during emergencies.
