The Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) project in Batukuwung Village, Padarincang District, Serang Regency, has raised concerns among the community about the threat of environmental damage and the disruption of the sustainability of local agricultural systems. During this time, the community relies on traditional agriculture that is closely tied to local social, cultural and ecological values. This research aims to assess the social and ecological impacts of the PLTP project on the lives of village communities. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study, through purposive sampling techniques for in-depth interviews with affected residents, as well as online media analysis. The results show that the presence of the project has created ecological and social vulnerabilities, especially disruptions to water and land access, and narrowed the space for community participation in decision-making. The findings show that the clean energy narrative is not always in line with the reality on the ground. This research emphasizes the importance of the principles of ecological justice and local community sovereignty in energy development policies, especially in areas that depend on natural sustainability.

Structural poverty is a complex phenomenon that occurs due to systemic inequality in economic, social and political structures, which traps marginalized groups in a cycle of poverty that is difficult to break. This research aims to analyze the impact of structural poverty on waste pickers in the Bintara Jaya slum, West Bekasi, focusing on internal and external factors that reinforce the cycle of poverty. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with five waste picker informants. The results show that structural poverty in the waste picker community is influenced by limited access to education, informal work with unstable income, inadequate living conditions, and the lack of government policy intervention. Internal factors such as low levels of education and skills, as well as external factors such as social stigma and non-inclusive policies, exacerbate the condition. Despite facing severe challenges, the waste picker community still has hope to escape poverty, especially through their children's education. This research recommends the need for more holistic and inclusive policies to break the cycle of structural poverty, including improved access to education, skills training, and social protection for marginalized communities.

The phenomenon of catcalling is a form of verbal sexual harassment that is often trivialized by society, even though this practice reflects the existence of symbolic power that places women in a subordinate position in public spaces. Catcalling demonstrates the enduring dominance of patriarchal culture, which is embedded through language and actions that appear ordinary yet subtly demean women's dignity. This study aims to describe the forms and characteristics of catcalling, examine catcalling as a manifestation of symbolic violence, and identify the social and psychological impacts experienced by victims. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through direct observation and in-depth interviews with young women at Taman Literasi Blok M. Based on Pierre Bourdieu's theory of symbolic violence, this study concludes that catcalling not only has an emotional impact but also reinforces gender inequality that is internalized in social norms. This practice occurs through a symbolic process that is inherited and normalized in everyday interactions.

Background: Coal mining is one of the industrial sectors with broad impacts on environmental conditions and public health. Communities living near mining areas are at risk of exposure to air pollution, water contamination, ecosystem disruption, and increased disease burden, particularly respiratory illnesses. Objective: This study aims to systematically review scientific evidence on the impact of coal mining on health and the environment in communities living around mining areas in Indonesia. Methods: This literature review analyzed seven scientific publications from 2014 to 2024, obtained from university repositories and accredited national journals. Inclusion criteria included studies conducted in Indonesia, relevance to health and/or environmental issues, and complete data presentation. Each article was thematically extracted and analyzed. Results: The studies revealed that coal mining activities contribute to increased cases of ARI (acute respiratory infections), pharyngitis, digestive disorders, and even potential exposure to natural radioactivity. Environmental impacts included air pollution from coal dust, decreased water quality, and unmanaged mining residues. Some studies also highlighted significant public health costs, despite companies having obtained environmental certifications. Conclusion: The health and environmental impacts of coal mining on surrounding communities are real and multidimensional. Therefore, a cross-sectoral approach involving environmental monitoring, public education, and evidence-based policymaking is needed to minimize long-term risks.

Entrepreneurship training is an important strategy in the economic empowerment of village communities, especially for the youth of Karang Taruna and PKK members who have a strategic role in local development. In Kaladawa Village, local potentials such as agricultural products, processed food, and handicrafts actually have a fairly high economic value. However, this potential has not been utilized optimally due to low knowledge, skills, and access to information and technology that supports entrepreneurship. Lack of understanding of business planning, digital marketing, and financial management is often the main obstacle that hinders village communities from starting and developing businesses independently. This community service activity aims to increase the capacity and economic independence of the residents of Kaladawa Village through practice-based entrepreneurship training. The training is comprehensively arranged, combining interactive lecture methods, group discussions, case studies, and simple business simulations so that participants are able to understand in theory and practice. The training material includes basic concepts of entrepreneurship, identification and analysis of local potential-based business opportunities, preparation of business plans, digital marketing strategies using social media, and financial management of micro businesses. Not only technical skills, this training also equips participants with soft skills such as business communication skills, teamwork, and creative and innovative thinking. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the basic principles of entrepreneurship and readiness to start a business independently. The pre-test and post-test evaluations showed a spike in comprehension scores, while the business plan products developed by participants showed creativity and the use of local potential that had not been previously worked on. Some participants have even formed community-based small business groups. This training also succeeded in forming an adaptive and innovative entrepreneurial mindset and building a social network that supports business collaboration.

Business re-planning is an effort to reorganize a business that has been run with structured governance. MSME actors cannot be separated from various business challenges and obstacles that can affect the growth rate of their business. Business practices for micro entrepreneurs are mostly operated without careful planning. Meanwhile, the business world is growing widely and competition is high. Some MSMEs combine business needs with family interests and result in achieving business visions. Business governance, such as: marketing, finance and products by MSMEs is still conventional, so business re-planning is needed to support business sustainability and especially drive the local economy. Community service in Sidayu District was initiated to instill a modern business mindset. The stages of community service begin with coordination, socialization. The target of this community service is aimed at MSMEs in Gresik Regency so that they can improve their understanding of the importance of business re-planning and improve more adaptive business governance skills.
