Nian Tana Sikka : Jurnal ilmiah Mahasiswa 2025 Fakultas Ekonomi & Bisnis, Universitas Nusa Nipa

This study aims to examine the implementation of social competence of teachers in three secondary schools with different characteristics, namely SMAN 1 Tambang, Al-Ihsan Boarding School and SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. Social competence does not only include the ability to communicate, but also interact and build positive relationships with students, fellow teachers, parents, and the surrounding community, which are very important in planning and implementing effective and enjoyable classroom learning. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observations to explore the experiences of teachers, principals, and students in the daily learning process. The results of the study showed variations in the application of social competence which were influenced by social environmental factors, facilities, and teacher readiness in responding to changes in education policy. Despite facing challenges such as limited facilities and administrative burdens, some teachers were able to demonstrate high dedication and innovation in learning. This study provides a comprehensive picture of social practices in the field and is expected to be an input in formulating policies to improve teacher quality contextually and sustainably.

This study aims to examine the challenges and formulate strategies for improving educational facilities and infrastructure in order to enhance the quality of learning at SDN 01 Jatibarat. Good learning quality is highly dependent on the availability of adequate educational infrastructure, so it is important to identify existing obstacles and design appropriate solutions. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through direct observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and the principal, documentation, and distribution of questionnaires to the school community and committee. The results of the study indicate that the school faces various limitations, particularly in terms of the availability of adequate classrooms, limited interactive learning media, and lack of access to educational technology such as computers and internet networks. These challenges impact the teaching and learning process less than optimal. To address this, the school has taken several strategic steps, including conducting regular needs assessments, collaborating with the school committee and the surrounding community, and submitting assistance proposals to the local government and relevant agencies. These improvement efforts are carried out collaboratively and in a targeted manner, involving all stakeholders so that infrastructure improvements can support the creation of a safe, comfortable, and stimulating learning environment. This study concludes that an active and synergistic role between schools, parents, the community, and the government is crucial in supporting the achievement of quality basic education. The involvement of all parties is key to achieving the sustainability of educational facilities and infrastructure improvement programs.

Community service represents a tangible contribution of higher education institutions in improving the quality of learning at the elementary level. This service activity was carried out collaboratively by lecturers and students at MI Miftahul Huda 2 Palangka Raya with the aim of enhancing the quality of IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) learning through the development of interactive teaching materials based on Canva. The program applied the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which emphasizes the empowerment of existing assets within the school community. The implementation involved mentoring sessions, technical guidance, and direct classroom application of the developed materials. Effectiveness was evaluated through pretests and posttests, showing an increase in students' understanding from an average pretest score of 55.19 to a posttest score of 77.04, with an average N-Gain of 0.47 (moderate category). Validation results from subject matter experts (96%), design experts (97%), and classroom teachers (89%) confirmed that the developed media were appropriate in terms of content, visual quality, and language use. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the use of technology-based teaching media also increased student motivation and teacher engagement during the learning process. The outcomes of this program not only provided direct benefits to the partner school but also demonstrated the potential for broader application as a participatory and sustainable model for digital innovation in basic education.

Mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress continue to increase globally and are recognized as critical factors that influence social functioning, productivity, and overall quality of life. Conventional mental health services are often limited by barriers including high cost, geographical distance, and persistent stigma that discourage individuals from seeking timely help. The digital era provides an alternative through the integration of technology into mental health counseling, offering greater accessibility, flexibility, and anonymity. Nevertheless, a key limitation of many digital counseling platforms lies in their inability to fully capture and respond to the emotional nuances of users during interactions. This study aims to address that gap by developing a speech-based emotion detection framework designed to be integrated into digital counseling environments. The proposed methodology includes the collection and preprocessing of speech samples, feature extraction using acoustic parameters, and training machine learning models to classify emotions in real time. Experimental results demonstrate that this approach significantly improves the accuracy of emotion detection, enabling digital counseling systems to provide more adaptive and personalized support. Beyond counseling, the research highlights the broader applicability of speech emotion recognition in education, telemedicine, and interactive digital assistants, all of which benefit from improved sensitivity to human emotions. These findings underscore the potential of artificial intelligence to strengthen digital mental health interventions, ensuring services that are not only more efficient and inclusive but also capable of fostering long-term emotional well-being in diverse populations.

This study aims to analyze the use of Indonesian by students of the Tourism Study Program at STIEPAR Yapari in an academic context. Indonesian as a national language plays an important role in effective communication in higher education environments. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that students still tend to use informal language and mix foreign terms in academic communication, which results in grammatical errors and hinders understanding of the material. Several factors that influence this language use pattern include daily habits, the influence of social media, and the dominance of foreign languages. This study is expected to contribute to improving the quality of Indonesian language use among students, as well as providing recommendations for lecturers and institutions in more effective language learning.

Education is the main pillar in nation building, where teachers play a central role in determining the success of the learning process. However, in the modern era, challenges related to teachers' competence and creativity in managing the classroom and creating a conducive learning climate are still problems that need to be overcome. This study aims to analyze the role, function, and competence of teachers in achieving national education goals through a qualitative approach with the literature review method. Data was collected from accredited journal articles indexed in SINTA, with a publication range of 2020-2024, using the Publish or Perish (POP) tool. The results show that professional teachers need to master the material, teaching methods, and understand the needs of students to create an effective learning environment. In addition, teachers' creativity and innovation in managing the classroom and the integration of technology in learning are key factors in improving the quality of education. However, there is still a gap between theory and practice, especially in the application of character-based learning approaches, Islamic values, and inclusive classroom management. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education holds significant potential to enhance the quality of learning and the effectiveness of teaching. This study aims to evaluate a teacher competency development program through the integration of AI, particularly in the development of AI-based teaching materials utilizing the Kelas Ajaib feature in the Canva application. The training involved 40 teachers from SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ambon and was conducted through workshops and interactive simulations. Evaluation results indicated an 85% level of participant enthusiasm and 86% satisfaction, reflecting a highly positive response to the program. However, teacher competence in creating AI-based instructional media reached only 75%, suggesting a need for further mentoring and improved supporting infrastructure. The main challenges identified included limited hardware availability and difficulties in adapting to new technologies. Therefore, follow-up training, enhanced technical support, and improved school facilities are recommended. Collaboration among educational stakeholders is essential to ensure the sustainability of AI integration in the learning process. Further research is recommended to examine the long-term impact of AI implementation on teaching quality and student engagement.
