The research titled “Legal Implications of Mixed Marriages between Indonesian Citizens and Foreign Nationals on the Citizenship Status of Minors” discusses the legal consequences arising from marriages between Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (WNA), particularly regarding the determination of the citizenship status of minors. Mixed marriages often create legal complexities due to differences in citizenship systems between countries, which affect the rights and legal standing of children. The research problems focus on two main issues: how Indonesian positive law regulates the citizenship status of children born from mixed marriages, and how the state provides legal protection for such children. This study employs a normative legal research method with a statutory approach, analyzing relevant laws, doctrines, and court decisions. The results show that although Law Number 12 of 2006 on Indonesian Citizenship has improved the previous system by recognizing limited dual citizenship for children, its implementation still faces several obstacles. Complicated bureaucracy, a lack of understanding among officials, and persistent discriminatory practices remain major challenges. Therefore, it is necessary to reform the legal framework and administrative system of citizenship management to ensure that the principles of non-discrimination and the best interests of the child are effectively and fairly realized.

The shrimp farming industry in Indonesia is predominantly dominated by Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), also known as white shrimp. This shrimp species is favored due to its fast growth rate and high economic value. However, the intensive farming practices often lead to various diseases, particularly those caused by parasitic infections. Ectoparasitic infections can create wounds on the shrimp’s body, making it easier for other pathogens like fungi, bacteria, and viruses to invade. This study aims to identify the types and levels of ectoparasite infestations on Vannamei shrimp to understand their impact on shrimp health and farm productivity. The research method used is a literature review, gathering data from various sources such as scientific journals, books, research reports, and technical notes related to shrimp farming. The findings of the study show that the presence of ectoparasites can serve as an important indicator to assess the health of the farming environment. High levels of parasitic infestations indicate suboptimal environmental conditions, such as poor water quality or improper management practices. Therefore, early identification of ectoparasites is crucial to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure the sustainability of Vannamei shrimp farming in Indonesia.

The Human Development Index (HDI) functions as a key indicator for assessing the level of welfare and overall quality of life of the population within a specific region. This study aims to examine the socio-economic factors influencing HDI at the provincial level in Indonesia using a Gaussian kernel regression approach. A nonparametric method is employed due to its flexibility in capturing nonlinear relationships between the response and predictor variables without the need to assume a specific functional form. The analysis utilizes secondary data, including education, poverty, per capita expenditure, expected years of schooling, open unemployment rate, and gross regional domestic product for each Indonesian province. The findings from this study indicate that educational factors, particularly mean years of schooling and expected years of schooling, exert the most significant impact on HDI improvement. The estimated Gaussian kernel regression model demonstrates a coefficient of determination of 0.9954 and a residual standard error of 0.3468, reflecting a very high predictive accuracy and relatively low error. These results suggest that Gaussian kernel regression is an effective nonparametric approach for analyzing human development in Indonesia.

The use of fish oil as a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA, often encounters challenges such as oxidative instability, unpleasant fishy odor, and variations in composition. This research focused on producing omega-3–enriched milkfish (Chanos chanos) oil that meets quality standards for microencapsulation, applying the wet rendering method followed by alkali neutralization with NaOH. The process involved varying temperatures of 70, 80, 90, and 100 °C and heating times of 30, 40, and 60 minutes. The crude oil obtained was refined using different NaOH concentrations, then evaluated for oxidative parameters including peroxide value (PV), p-anisidine value (p-AV), total oxidation value (TOTOX), and acidity levels (acid value/free fatty acids, FFA), all compared with International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS). The maximum yield recorded was 0.29% at 100 °C for 60 minutes. The results showed that PV and p-AV values were still within acceptable IFOS limits (3.44 meq/kg and 11.75 meq/kg), and TOTOX values remained below 20, indicating good oxidative stability. However, prolonged heating led to increased acid values/FFA ranging from 2.43% to 2.68%, surpassing IFOS limits and reflecting hydrolytic degradation of the oil. These findings demonstrate the trade-off between achieving higher yields under higher temperature and longer heating versus maintaining oil quality. Therefore, optimal processing at a maximum of 100 °C and not exceeding 30 minutes, combined with alkali neutralization, is recommended to ensure the production of stable, high-quality milkfish oil suitable for encapsulation and incorporation into health-oriented functional foods.
