This study aims to analyze how socially constructed beauty standards shaped by media, popular culture, and the surrounding environment affect the social cognition of university students in evaluating peers who deviate from mainstream beauty norms. Within the campus environment, students often bring visual biases and prejudices toward others based solely on physical appearance, such as skin tone, body shape, and fashion style. This study adopts a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four students from the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) with diverse backgrounds. The results show that most students initially form judgments based on social schemas influenced by social media, past experiences, and peer environments. However, some participants demonstrated a shift in perspective after engaging in personal reflection, studying social psychology, and experiencing more diverse social interactions. They began to exhibit more empathetic attitudes and fairer judgments. This study highlights the importance of higher education in fostering critical awareness and promoting inclusive values and social sensitivity within academic environments.

The micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector plays a vital role in sustaining the national economy, particularly in food security and employment absorption. However, this sector remains highly vulnerable to economic disruptions, including large-scale layoffs in the industrial sector. This study aims to examine the socio-economic impacts of layoffs on the sustainability of traditional fish processing businesses. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with a traditional fish processor who has operated since 1990 in Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. The findings reveal that layoffs have led to a significant decline in consumer purchasing power, resulting in a drop in daily production volume (from 20 to 5–8 baskets) and increased waste due to unsold inventory. The lack of innovation, absence of adaptive strategies, and minimal external support have further exacerbated the business’s vulnerability. Therefore, policy interventions and capacity-building programs are essential to enhance the resilience of MSMEs amid labor market fluctuations.

Investment plays a strategic role in driving economic growth and job creation. However, the dynamics of investment law regulation in Indonesia still face various challenges that impact business certainty for investors. This study aims to: (1) analyze the dynamics of investment law regulations in Indonesia over time until the enactment of the Job Creation Law; (2) identify the forms of investment law regulations and the challenges of their implementation; and (3) formulate legal solutions to improve business certainty for investors. The research method used is normative legal research with a legislative and conceptual approach. Data was obtained from relevant regulations, scientific journals, and academic literature, then analyzed using descriptive-qualitative methods. The results of the study show that although regulations such as Law No. 25 of 2007 and the Job Creation Law have strengthened the legal framework for investment, their implementation is still hampered by bureaucracy, inconsistencies between central and regional policies, and weak oversight in digital investment. The conclusion of this study is that regulatory harmonization, strengthening arbitration institutions, and improving legal literacy are important steps to enhance legal certainty and investment attractiveness in Indonesia.

This research aims to examine the impact of thrifting on the economic condition of clothing traders in Pasar Lasoani, to identify the factors that make thrifting a threat to these traders, to find solutions that traders can implement in facing competition with thrifted products, and to understand the Islamic economic perspective on thrifting practices in Pasar Lasoani. This study uses a qualitative research method, which is intended to describe and explain events or phenomena occurring in the field and to present data systematically, factually, and accurately regarding the facts or phenomena observed. The data for this study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The thrifting phenomenon has had a significant impact on the economy of clothing traders in Pasar Lasoani. On the positive side, this trend has increased income for traders who sell thrifted items due to their affordable prices and attractive variety. However, on the negative side, thrifting reduces the competitiveness of new and local clothing traders, thereby creating economic imbalances in the market. The increase in secondhand clothing imports is also perceived as a threat to the demand for new products, especially due to the strong interest of young consumers in branded clothes at low prices. To improve competitiveness, new clothing traders need to implement strategies such as price adjustments, product quality improvement, utilization of digital marketing, and consumer education on the advantages of new clothing. From an Islamic economic perspective, the practice of thrifting is permissible as long as it fulfills the pillars and legal conditions of buying and selling, namely clarity of the product, mutual agreement on price, and absence of excessive gharar (uncertainty). According to the school of Imam Malik, this practice is valid if the existing gharar is minor, unavoidable, and conducted with honesty, fairness, and transparency. Therefore, thrifting transactions in Pasar Lasoani can be considered in line with the principles of sharia.

Akuntansi Pajak dan Kebijakan Ekonomi Digital 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This article comprehensively examines the impact of inflation on the welfare of Indonesian society from a public economics perspective. High inflation has been proven to erode purchasing power, widen economic inequality, and worsen quality of life, especially for fixed- and low-income groups. Rising prices of basic necessities force households to sacrifice spending on education and health, increasing the risk of poverty and lowering the human development index. Inflation also creates economic uncertainty, hampers investment, and triggers social conflict due to public unrest. Empirical studies indicate that every 1% increase in inflation can reduce real purchasing power by up to 2.3% and increase the number of poor people. To mitigate these regressive effects, integration of monetary, fiscal, and adaptive social protection policies is required. The experience of Indonesia and other countries underscores the importance of inter-institutional synergy and evidence-based interventions to maintain price stability and equitable welfare. In conclusion, inflation control should be seen as a long-term investment in human development and social justice, not merely as a macroeconomic stability target.

Legal protection for consumers is an important issue in maintaining public trust in products circulating in the market, especially in subsidized cooking oil products. Decreasing quality or cutting product content can affect consumer perception, which has an impact on decreasing trust in the product brand. This study aims to analyze the impact of legal protection on the consequences of cutting subsidized cooking oil and how this incident affects public trust. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study analysis of the event of cutting the contents of cooking oil products by PT AEGA. The results of the study indicate that non-compliance with product quality standards can cause consumer distrust and worsen the brand image that has been identified with the government subsidy program. Therefore, it is important for the government and business actors to increase transparency, supervision, and law enforcement so that the public does not feel disadvantaged and continues to trust the products they consume. This study also recommends strengthening regulations and legal counseling to the public to increase their awareness and participation in consumer protection.

This research aims to analyze the impact of family socio-economic conditions on the interest in learning of preschool children (ages 3-6) at KB Darussalam Sidoarjo. Interest in learning at an early age is an important foundation for children's cognitive and socio-emotional development in the future. However, this interest does not exist in isolation but is greatly influenced by the child's immediate environment, namely the family and its socio-economic conditions. Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory is used as a conceptual framework to understand how the fulfillment of children's basic needs, which is often related to socio-economic conditions, affects their motivation and interest in learning. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on KB Darussalam Sidoarjo. Data is collected through in-depth interviews with parents/guardians and teachers, as well as participatory observation of children in the learning environment. The research results show that the socio-economic conditions of families have a significant and multifaceted impact on the learning interest of preschool children. Economic limitations can hinder the fulfillment of children's physiological needs and their sense of safety, which directly reduces their energy and focus on learning. In addition, socio-economic conditions affect the quality of parent-child interactions and the availability of learning stimulation at home, which are crucial to fostering a sense of love, belonging, and appreciation in children. An environment that inadequately supports basic needs tends to result in lower levels of interest in learning.

The Constitutional Court's decision not only affects individuals or certain groups, but also has significant consequences for the public and the country as a whole. The Constitutional Court's decision provides legal certainty for society and the government by determining the implementation or cancellation of a policy that can help create a stable and predictable legal environment. This research is a normative research by studying and basing it on secondary data. Then analyzed using qualitative analysis. The results of this study indicate that the interests recognized by law in Indonesia regarding legal standing still revolve around proving real losses as a form of interest recognized by the Constitution. The principle of erga omnes has an important meaning in the Constitutional Court's decision. An appropriate alternative is needed to ensure that the decision that then has an impact on everyone does not result in new constitutional losses for parties who are not in dispute. the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision still faces serious challenges, ranging from delays in implementation to ignoring the decision by related institution.

This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to examine the impact of social media on the honesty of teenagers toward their parents in Stabat Lama Barat Village. The aim of this research is to describe the extent to which the use of social media influences teenagers’ honest behavior in communication and interaction with their parents. In an increasingly advanced digital era, social media is not only a source of entertainment but also has a significant influence on character development and moral values, including honesty. The results show that some teenagers tend to hide their social media activities from their parents, either due to privacy concerns, fear of being scolded, or the desire to create a certain image online. This behavior leads to reduced openness and honesty in their daily lives. However, there are also teenagers who are able to use social media wisely while upholding honesty within the family. Factors such as moral education at home, parenting styles, and social environment play an important role in shaping honest attitudes among teenagers despite the rapid growth of digitalization.
