Learning problems in schools are often caused by uninteresting methods and media, which reduce students’ interest and learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of using flashcard learning media on students' learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) for fourth-grade students at SD Al-Madina Wonosobo. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group. The sample consisted of two classes: the experimental class used flashcards, while the control class applied the lecture method. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using t-tests and gain tests. The results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two classes, with higher posttest scores and gain values in the experimental class. The use of flashcards effectively enhanced students' understanding of the material, especially memorization topics such as Asmaul Husna, and created a more engaging and interactive learning atmosphere. The implications of this research suggest that visual learning media such as flashcards can be an effective strategy to improve students' learning achievement and motivation in IRE classes, while also encouraging teachers to be more innovative in applying suitable learning media.

Student discipline is a crucial aspect in the world of education that directly affects the effectiveness of the learning process. This study aims to analyze the implications of punishment on student discipline using a behaviorist learning theory approach. In this theory, punishment functions as a consequence that reduces unwanted behavior, while positive reinforcement aims to encourage expected behavior. A case study of Mrs. Supriyani, a teacher accused of committing violence against students, is the focus of this study. The results of the study indicate that punishment given appropriately and consistently can build a deterrent effect and increase student discipline. However, excessive or unfair punishment tends to have negative impacts, such as emotional resistance and damaged teacher-student relationships. To achieve more effective discipline, a combination of educational punishment and positive reinforcement is needed so that students not only understand the bad consequences of violations but are also motivated to demonstrate good behavior. Prospects for further development of this research include the implementation of restorative justice methods in conflict resolution and strengthening the role of teachers as learning facilitators who educate without having to cause fear.

The ability to speak Indonesian is a crucial aspect of children's development, as it plays a significant role in learning, communication, and social interaction both in school and in the wider community. This study aims to analyze the impact of local language use on students’ Indonesian language proficiency, focusing on fourth-grade students at SDN 03 Kelabu. All 20 students in the class were selected as the research sample. This research employs a qualitative approach using observation and interviews to gather in-depth data regarding students’ daily language habits and their effects on classroom learning. The findings reveal that the dominant use of local languages at home and in the surrounding environment limits the students' ability to use Indonesian actively, particularly in formal learning contexts. This negatively affects their communication skills—both spoken and written—and hinders academic achievement. The study is analyzed through social learning theory and ecological systems theory, which explain that language development is influenced by interactions between individuals and their immediate environments, such as family, peers, and school. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers and parents actively encourage the use of Indonesian in daily activities, especially in educational settings. The study also provides suggestions for further research on strategies to improve Indonesian language proficiency in areas where local languages are predominantly spoken.

The research departs from the phenomenon of the development of Islamic boarding school education models with varying names and styles. Islamic boarding schools are faced with two important problems in adapting to the demands of the times, namely the problem of developing Islamic boarding school governance without abandoning tradition and the Islamic boarding school's identity in producing a generation with good morals. The research objectives are to identify the management of Sufistic curriculum development in Islamic boarding schools including; 1) Curriculum planning, 2) Curriculum organization, 3) Curriculum implementation, 4) Curriculum evaluation and 5) Impact of Islamic boarding school management in developing the Sufistic curriculum at Al-Istiqomah Islamic Boarding School and Al-Falah Biru Islamic Boarding School, Garut Regency. The research framework departs from George R. Terry's (1973) management theory, namely four management functions, namely: 1) Planning, 2) Organizing, 3) Actuating, 4) Controlling. The curriculum theory uses the Ralph W curriculum development model. Tyler curriculum development is carried out in systematic stages, namely; Objectives, Selecting Learning Experiences, Organizing Learning Experiences, Evaluation. Developing the Islamic boarding school curriculum has an impact on the morals of the students, as according to Sheikh Musthafa Al-Ghalayini, the implications of Sufistic moral values contribute to shaping behavior. This study uses a qualitative approach using the Ethnography method. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations and documentation analysis. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman analysis technique. While the validity test is carried out with data validity by conducting tests; credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study found that the management of the development of the Islamic boarding school curriculum in preparing a generation with Sufi morals: First, the Islamic boarding school curriculum is included in the traditionalist model of the school, namely by showing its traditional and school character. Second, the organization of the curriculum content consists of the contents of the curriculum, data, concepts, generalizations, and subject matter at the Islamic Boarding School. Third, Curriculum development is categorized as a grass roots model where there are initiatives and efforts coming from below, namely ustadz and Islamic boarding schools in developing a curriculum that is designed by themselves to produce a generation with Sufi morals. Fourth, Curriculum evaluation refers to the Objective Model Evaluation model (objective model) carried out at the end of curriculum development, this assessment activity is often called summative evaluation. Fifth, The impact of curriculum management on the level of morals is shown by the nature of istiqomah, self-control, prioritizing Islamic and basyariyah brotherhood, tolerance, honesty, sincerity, istiqomah, patience, gratitude, politeness and helping each other. Sixth, Traditionalist Hypothetical Management Model of the School.

This study examines the contributions of Imam Abu Hasan Al-Ash'ari and Imam Abu Mansur Al-Maturidi in shaping the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) school of thought and its implications for Islamic education. Both imams are considered foundational figures in Islamic theology, and their ideas have influenced the development of the creed (aqidah), Islamic theology (ilm al-kalam), and Islamic philosophy in various Islamic educational institutions throughout history. Through a qualitative research method with a literature review approach, this study analyzes both primary and secondary sources, including classical texts and modern interpretations, to assess the relevance of their thoughts in the context of contemporary Islamic education systems. The findings indicate that the Ash‘arite and Maturidite theological frameworks, which emphasize the balance between revelation and rationality, have been instrumental in shaping curricula, teaching methodologies, and approaches to religious understanding. The concept of moderation, or wasatiyyah, in both theological schools is central to this approach, encouraging a balanced interpretation of Islamic teachings that addresses modern challenges. The study concludes that integrating the principles of Ash‘arite and Maturidite theology into contemporary educational practices offers valuable insights into fostering a more inclusive, balanced, and rational approach to Islamic learning.

Speaking anxiety among students is a common phenomenon that affects their academic performance and personal development. This study aims to explore the reasons behind students' fear of speaking in various educational settings. Using a literature review method, this research examines previous studies related to psychological, social, and educational factors contributing to students’ reluctance to speak. The findings indicate that speaking anxiety is primarily caused by fear of making mistakes, low self-confidence, and negative social evaluations from peers or teachers. Additionally, classroom environment, teaching methods, and cultural influences also play a significant role in shaping students' willingness to speak. The impact of this fear extends beyond academic performance, affecting students' participation, self-expression, and future communication skills. Several strategies have been identified to reduce speaking anxiety, including fostering a supportive learning environment, encouraging positive reinforcement, and implementing interactive teaching methods. Educators are encouraged to create a more inclusive atmosphere that minimizes students' fear of judgment and enhances their confidence in speaking. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on students' speaking anxiety by summarizing key factors and offering practical implications for teachers, educators, and policymakers. Learning motivation is a key factor in students' academic success. This study aims to analyze the effect of intrinsic rewards, extrinsic rewards, and punishments on elementary school students' learning motivation. Using the literature review method, this research examines various literatures related to the application of reward and punishment strategies in education. The results show that appropriately given rewards can enhance both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in students. Intrinsic rewards, such as a sense of achievement and self-pride, encourage students to continue learning and develop independently, while extrinsic rewards, such as praise or gifts, provide external incentives that reinforce student motivation. On the other hand, punishments applied wisely can instill discipline and improve students' learning focus. However, rewards are found to be more effective in increasing student motivation compared to punishments, as rewards create a positive and enjoyable learning environment. Punishments, if overused or applied inappropriately, can negatively affect student motivation and lead to stress or fear. This study also shows that a combination of both approaches—rewards and punishments—when applied in the right balance, can produce optimal results in supporting students' academic development. These findings provide important implications for educators in designing effective learning strategies to enhance students' learning motivation, as well as the importance of a balanced and thoughtful approach to students' needs and characteristics.
