This study identifies and analyzes the key factors influencing students’ engagement in science practicum activities within the Open and Distance Higher Education (ODHE) context. 127 students from diverse regions of Indonesia participated in this quantitative study, which assessed perceptions regarding academic challenges, learning interaction, collaborative learning, and the use of technology in online laboratory settings. The results indicate that tutorial modality, employment status, academic achievement (GPA), and residential area significantly influence engagement levels. Students participating in web-based classes and receiving consistent learning feedback reported higher engagement. Conversely, laboratory report writing emerged as a primary challenge, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced scientific writing literacy. The findings are discussed within the Community of Inquiry (CoI) and Self-Determination Theory (SDT) frameworks, emphasizing the importance of teaching presence, social collaboration, and learner autonomy in digital learning environments. Notably, students from rural areas exhibited high motivation despite infrastructural limitations. The study recommends redesigning learning models to include targeted support, structured digital practicum modules, and formative feedback mechanisms. This research contributes to developing inclusive, adaptive, and effective science education practices in ODHE while supporting achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.

Digital bureaucratic transformation has become a crucial component of public administration reform in Indonesia through the utilization of technology to enhance public services. This study examines the implementation of the M-Paspor application as one of the strategic policy innovations in the immigration sector. The application was developed as a solution to problems found in the conventional service system. M-Paspor simplifies the passport application procedures, increases bureaucratic effectiveness and efficiency, and strengthens accountability in public service delivery. The presence of M-Paspor has brought significant changes to the structure and work system within the Directorate General of Immigration. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, including unequal digital access, limited infrastructure, low digital literacy among civil servants, and resistance to changes in bureaucratic work culture. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review, with sources selected using search strings tailored to the research objectives. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for further discussions regarding the benefits, challenges, and sustainability of M-Paspor in supporting the broader digitalization of public service programs in Indonesia.

Aging is a natural process that every human undergoes, marking the final phase of life. Common issues among the elderly include declining sleep quality and fluctuations in blood pressure, which can significantly impact overall health. Research has shown that exercise combining movement with easily listenable music can positively affect blood pressure, improve sleep quality, and enhance balance in older adults. This study aims to analyze differences in blood pressure, sleep quality, and balance in the elderly following an exercise intervention. An institutional-based intervention design was used, providing integrative traditional exercise therapy to elderly groups in Pangkalpinang City. A total of 50 elderly participants were selected based on predetermined criteria and divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group participated in an 8-week traditional exercise program called Senam Bedincak, a local exercise from Bangka Island, while the control group continued their usual activities. Post-intervention assessments measured sleep quality, blood pressure, and balance using questionnaires and observation sheets. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed that the independent t-test for sleep quality resulted in a p-value of 0.000 (p 0.05), indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention in the experimental group.

Maternal mortality rate is key indicator of maternal and child health services. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), maternal mortality remains high. Preconception care plays a crucial role in addressing this issue, ensuring women’s health before pregnancy. Based on Continuity of Care concept, continues midwifery care during the premarital preconception period allows health workers to monitor and support women, promoting planned pregnancies under optimal conditions. This study aims to identify the need for application-based continuity of care for at-risk preconception women planning pregnancy in Sleman Regency. Using a mixed-method method approach, it combines qualitative phenomenological research with quantitative Research and Development (RD). Findings indicate that support for at risk preconception couples remains suboptimal. Although there is collaboration between health workers and Religious Affairs Offices, further optimization is needed to enhance awareness and monitoring. To address this gap, the MEMBUMI SEHAT application was developed to provide integrated services, offering comprehensive medical information and recommendations. This tool aims to improve continuity of care, reducing complication for both the mother and fetus. The study highlights the importance of implementing health policies that prepare couples for pregnancy. The MEMBUMI SEHAT app is feasible for supporting at-risk preconception couples by providing continuous, accessible, and informative care.

Adherence of HIV/AIDS patients in ARV therapy is an important factor in the success of HIV/AIDS treatment because continuous ARVs can suppress the development of the virus, reduce viral resistance, improve the HIV/AIDS patient's quality of life, and improve their health in general. This study aimed to review the literature that has researched factors related to the non-adherence of HIV/AIDS patients in taking ARV therapy. The research conducted an empirical analysis related to the aspects of adherence of HIV/AIDS patients to antiretroviral therapy (ART). A total of 71 kinds of literature discusses the adherence of patients with HIV/AIDS to treatment with ARVs. Literature was obtained based on searches on the Scopus website for the year 2019-2023. The literature is dominant in 2019 and has decreased over time. The publication is predominantly in Q1-indexed journals, with the first author coming from the USA. General factors that become ART adherence based on the literature include finance, mental health, alcohol consumption, drug abuse, belief, self-efficacy, knowledge, homeless, support, and tobacco/smoking. The most commonly encountered factors are support and mental health. The further suggestions for medical personnel or patients with HIV/AIDS and their families to be more synergistic in carrying out medical therapy.

The Village Fund Cash Assistance Program (BLT-DD) is a government effort to provide support to rural communities affected by the economic crisis, especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Sidomukti Village, the implementation of BLT-DD has been running well, but there are still obstacles in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the beneficiary selection process. This research aims to design and build a website-based Decision Support System (SPK) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method that can improve the effectiveness and accuracy of determining prospective BLT-DD recipients. Data collection methods include interviews and document studies, and use a quantitative descriptive approach to analyze data. The results showed that the implementation of a web-based system can speed up the selection process, reduce the potential for errors, and increase the transparency of information to the community, so that it can help village officials in managing social assistance more effectively, ensuring that assistance is right on target, and increasing community satisfaction with the BLT-DD program.
