Social media has become a primary means of communication for adolescents in the digital era, yet excessive use can create complex impacts on their academic, social, and psychological well-being. The positive effects include expanding cross-regional friendships, improving communication skills, strengthening social relationships, and increasing learning motivation through peer interaction and support. Conversely, the negative effects include declining academic performance due to reduced focus, neglect of responsibilities, weakened language skills caused by the dominance of informal language, a higher risk of digital crimes such as fraud and identity theft, as well as mental-health issues including anxiety, depression, social-comparison pressure, and cyberbullying. To minimize these risks, preventive efforts are needed, such as enhancing digital literacy for both adolescents and parents, promoting ethical and safe online behavior, regulating screen time, strengthening parental guidance, implementing digital-wellness policies in schools, providing counseling services, developing more youth-friendly platforms, and enforcing government regulations on online safety. This study emphasizes that the wise, safe, and productive use of social media can only be achieved through collaborative efforts involving adolescents, families, schools, communities, platform providers, and the government.

Language is an important part of human life. Through language, humans can communicate with each other. In addition, language is used to convey ideas, thoughts, opinions, feelings, and thoughts to others. Language also serves as a tool for self-development and interaction with others. A language must have clear meaning so that when communication occurs, there is no misunderstanding in its delivery. Currently, there are several variations of language styles used in society. The existence of these variations is triggered by the rapid development of communication technology. This development has led to different language styles being used by each generation. Each generation has its own used by each generation. Each generation has its own distinctive language style. The use of proper and correct Indonesian is currently shifting and being replaced by slang, so that many people are now accustomed to using slang. This research employs a descriptive analysis and literature review method to examine this linguistic shift. The findings indicate that the high intensity of social media usage accelerates the spread of slang, which potentially diminishes teenagers' formal language skills. Consequently, effective strategies are needed to balance the use of slang as a social dynamic while preserving the Indonesian language as a vital national identity.

This research aims to analyze the capacity building of government personnel in implementing the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) at the Department of Communication and Informatics of Gresik Regency, which plays a strategic role in digital governance. This study uses a qualitative approach focusing on capacity development strategies and constraints at individual and organizational levels. The findings show that capacity building is carried out through two main strategies: human resource development and organizational strengthening. In human resource development, the establishment and training of an internal assessor team serve as key instruments in supporting SPBE implementation. This team represents institutionalized capacity, enabling the organization to independently conduct monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance processes in a sustainable manner. This approach reflects a long-term strategy to strengthen institutional independence and reduce reliance on external parties. In organizational strengthening, capacity building focuses on optimizing organizational structure, work systems, coordination mechanisms, and regulatory support, including standard operating procedures. However, several constraints were identified. At the individual level, there is an imbalance in technical competencies, especially in information technology skills. At the organizational level, the lack of optimal follow-up after training highlights the need for more integrated human resource planning. These findings indicate that capacity building in SPBE implementation requires a systemic, well-planned, and sustainable approach to achieve effective, adaptive, and responsive digital government governance in the public sector.

In contemporary higher education, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is increasingly expected to prepare learners for meaningful professional participation rather than isolated linguistic performance. Nevertheless, ESP pedagogy has often remained predominantly skill-oriented, with limited conceptual integration of pedagogical innovations such as project-based learning and digital learning. This study presents a systematic literature review of 40 peer-reviewed studies examining how ESP pedagogy is being reframed as situated professional practice through the integration of project-based and digital learning. Following the process of thematic synthesis, the review provides an examination of what ESP learning is perceived to be, how it is conducted and how it is evaluated in different disciplines and countries. Results show a marked pedagogical transition from a language-centric approach to one that incorporated more authenticity, collaboration and professional concern. Reported learning attainments go beyond language to cover professional capability, digital literacy, autonomous learning and identity development. Project-based learning authenticates language use in professional workflows, and digital learning environments support multimodal communication reminiscent of the way people work today. This review contends that in combination, these perspectives re-conceptualise the pedagogical nature of ESP as a type of applied professional education ’realised’ within particular social, institutional and discipline specific contexts. By synthesizing empirical evidence across settings, the study offers a conceptual reframing of ESP pedagogy and outlines implications for curriculum design, assessment, and future research in higher education and the social humanities.

Public service delivery represents a central function of civil servants (ASNs) in realizing governmental objectives and fulfilling public needs. The increasing complexity of bureaucratic challenges not only requires administrative competence but also a devotion-based work culture and strong conflict management abilities. This study adopts an integrative literature review approach to synthesize research on the relationship between devotion-oriented work culture and conflict resolution competence among ASNs in public administration. Through thematic synthesis of empirical and conceptual studies, three primary themes emerge: (1) devotion as a moral dimension shaping civil service identity; (2) conflict resolution competence as an adaptive behavioral skill; and (3) integration of cultural and governance values for ethical performance. Findings reveal that devotion-oriented culture enhances civil servants’ problem-solving and ethical responsiveness, strengthening bureaucratic accountability and public trust. This paper contributes a conceptual framework linking work devotion, conflict competence, and public governance, providing implications for policy and administrative reform toward professional, responsive, and citizen-oriented public service.
