Language skills are important skills that must be possessed by students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) to support the learning process and daily life. However, in practice, there are still many students who have difficulty in developing language skills, such as in vocabulary, reading, and writing. One solution that can be applied is the use of interesting learning media, such as word puzzles. This study aims to examine how the implementation of word puzzle media can improve students' language skills at MI. The method used in this study is a literature review, by examining various sources and previous research results related to the use of word puzzles in language learning. The results of the study show that word puzzles can help increase interest in learning, enrich vocabulary, and train students' reading and writing skills in a fun way. In addition, word puzzles also encourage students to think critically and actively in the learning process. Thus, the use of word puzzles as a language learning medium at MI is highly recommended to improve students' language skills effectively.

This research aims to analyze forms of phonological interference in the use of Indonesian by speakers of the Nias regional language in Garu II, Medan Amplas. The background of this research is based on the fact that the Nias people, as a bilingual group, often experience difficulties in pronouncing Indonesian according to the rules, resulting in symptoms of phonological deviations such as deletions, changes and additions of phonemes. Using qualitative descriptive methods and triangulation techniques (observation, interviews, documentation), this research found three main forms of interference: (1) deletion of the final phoneme (example: "jalan" becomes "jala"), (2) changes in phonemes (example: "kaya" becomes “kayo”), and (3) the addition of phonemes (example: “although” becomes “walampun”). Factors causing interference include the social environment, first language habits, low vocabulary mastery, and weak loyalty to the second language. It is hoped that the results of this research can enrich the study of phonology and become a reference in developing Indonesian for bilingual communities.

Language acquisition is a fundamental aspect of early childhood development, particularly in learning color vocabulary, which plays a crucial role in cognitive, linguistic, and social growth. However, empirical data show that approximately 47.3% of Indonesian children aged 3-5 experience delays in recognizing colors, potentially hindering their overall language and cognitive development. This study aims to analyze the process of language acquisition in learning color vocabulary among children aged 3-5 years using a psycholinguistic approach, as well as to explore teaching methods employed by teachers at PAUD An-Najah Rowosari Tembalang, Semarang. A qualitative descriptive method was used, involving 20 children, teachers, and parents as informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results reveal variations in color vocabulary acquisition: 30% of children showed significant progress, 50% demonstrated good development, and 20% required intensive assistance. Influencing factors include home stimulation, teaching methods, and psychological aspects of the children. This research enriches psycholinguistic studies, supports the development of effective teaching methods, and provides guidance for parents and educators in fostering early childhood language development, especially in color recognition.

This study explores EFL students’ perceptions of podcasts media used by English teachers in teaching listening comprehension at an Islamic Senior High School in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Using a case study design, data were collected from 27 tenth-grade students who enrolled in a listening class through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The quantitative data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, while data obtained from the interviews, observations, and documentations were analyzed thematically. The findings show that students generally held positive perceptions toward podcasts as learning media in enhancing their listening skills. Despite initial difficulties such as understanding native speakers’ accents, rapid speech, and limited vocabulary, students overcame these challenges using strategies like repetition, subtitles, note-taking, and translation tools. Podcasts were also used to support improvements in pronunciation, vocabulary, and overall listening comprehension. Students also appreciated the flexibility, accessibility, and engaging content that podcasts offer, which enhanced their motivation in learning. However, some obstacles, such as a lack of consistency and motivation, were also reported. Still, students developed adaptive strategies to stay engaged. This study concludes that podcast media can be an effective tool for improving EFL students’ listening skills when integrated with proper guidance and regular practice. The findings highlight the potential of podcasts as a supportive and accessible medium in English language instruction, specifically to foster students' listening skills.

This study aims to analyze the derivational affixes found in the Regina Caeli speech delivered by Pope Leo XIV. The main focus of the research is to identify the types of derivational affixes and determine their frequency, including both prefixes and suffixes. The research applies a mixed methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The quantitative aspect involves identifying and counting the types and frequency of derivational affixes found in Pope Leo XIV’s speech at Regina Caeli. The qualitative aspect focuses on analyzing the contextual meaning and function of those affixes within the speech. Data collection techniques include textual analysis.. Based on the analysis, a total of 13 types of derivational affixes were identified, consisting of one prefix and 12 suffixes. Furthermore, derivational affixes in this study are classified into four types: noun, verb, adjective, and adverb derivation. This study is expected to encourage English learners to understand and apply derivational affixes effectively, as doing so can significantly enrich vocabulary and enhance linguistic competence by recognizing root words and how new forms are created. This classification helps English learners expand vocabulary and understand how word forms are systematically built, thus enhancing their language skills.

This research was motivated by the results of observations, interviews, and tests conducted with 1th students at SDN Mojoroto 4. On the observations, it was found the teacher relied solely on the school’s textbook as a learning resource and used a lecture-based teaching method. There was a lack of innovation in instructional delivery, which led to students having limited vocabulary mastery and difficulty in constructing words. Interviews with some students revealed that they quickly became bored with the monotonous learning process. Therefore, a language game-based module was needed to address these issues. The objectives of this study are: (1) To determine the validity of module, (2) To determine the practicality of the module, and (3) To determine the effectiveness of the module. The development model used was ADDIE, which includes the following stages: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The validity test results showed that the module expert gave a score of 92%, and the material expert gave a score of 80%. Practicality test results from teacher response questionnaires reached 94%, student responses in the limited trial reached 95%, and in the wider trial reached 92%. Effectiveness test results showed a classical percentage of 100% in both limited and wider trials. It can be concluded that the developed language game-based module is valid, practical, and effective.

The limited capacity of primary school kids to produce simple compositions is typically a barrier in the Indonesian language learning process.  Amidst the constraints of conventional approaches that are dull, the Joyful Learning-based storytelling method has developed as a pleasant, participatory way that may promote students' creativity.  In this setting, instructors play a vital role as facilitators who may construct learning experiences that drive students to communicate their thoughts in writing.  The study was done at SDI Nurul Huda utilizing a descriptive qualitative technique using interviews, observations, and documentation.  The results suggest that the use of storytelling not only boosts students' interest in writing but also expands their vocabulary, improves the structure of their writing, and raises their confidence in expressing their thoughts in writing.  Active and innovative teachers have demonstrated to be able to maximize this strategy to assist the fundamental reading abilities of third-grade pupils.

This study examines the correlation between reading interest and writing ability of STIKOM Yos Sudarso Purwokerto students as an effort to understand the relationship between two basic literacy skills in the context of higher education. Low interest in reading is often blamed as one of the causes of students' weak writing skills, which impacts their academic quality and critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the extent to which reading interest affects students' writing skills, as well as provide an initial mapping of literacy conditions in the campus environment. The method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. Data was collected through questionnaires to measure reading interest levels and writing tests to assess students' writing ability. The analysis was carried out by Pearson correlation statistical test. The results of the study showed a significant positive correlation between students' reading interest and writing ability. The higher the students' interest in reading, the better their writing skills, especially in terms of writing structure, vocabulary use, and logical argumentation. These findings reinforce the assumption that active reading habits can promote significant improvements in writing skills. Therefore, a learning strategy is needed that is able to foster a literacy culture among students.

. This article explores four foundational pillars of Arabic semantics: Isytiqaq (derivation), Taraduf (synonymy), Isytirok (polysemy), and Tadladh (antonymy). These concepts are crucial for understanding the dynamic and layered nature of meaning in classical Arabic texts, including the Qur'an, Hadith, and classical Arabic literature. Isytiqaq provides insight into the origin and development of words through their root structures, while Taraduf illustrates the richness of Arabic vocabulary through synonymous expressions. Isytirok addresses the phenomenon of a single word carrying multiple meanings based on context, and Tadladh reveals semantic oppositions that enhance rhetorical expression and textual clarity. This study emphasizes the importance of these four semantic pillars in linguistic analysis and interpretation, highlighting their role in the beauty and precision of the Arabic language.
