English proficiency is vital for academic and professional success in Indonesia, but students often struggle with writing. Descriptive text composition is challenging due to its intricate structure and linguistic elements. To overcome these challenges, the researcher suggests utilizing the Miro Application, a digital whiteboard tool known for fostering interactive collaboration and effectiveness in dynamic learning activities. The study aims to assess Miro's impact on enhancing 8th grade students' descriptive text writing skills at SMP Negeri 2 Sutojayan. The study utilizes a quantitative experimental approach, specifically a pre-experimental design, conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Sutojayan over one month, from November to December 2023. The population includes all 8th grade students, with a purposive sample of 31 students from a single recommended class. This research, conducted with 8th-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Sutojayan, employed a one-group pre-test post-test design. Data analyses covered normality, homogeneity, and paired sample t-tests. Normality test values (0.095 and 0.088) aligned with good data distribution. Homogeneity test (0.067) affirmed data homogeneity, indicating methodical soundness. The hypothesis test for Miro Application based learning impact yielded a significant result (0.000 < 0.05). Miro Application significantly affected post-test scores, presented digitally via mobile phones. Grammar correction has long been recognized as one of the most essential yet challenging aspects of second language (L2) learning. Teachers are expected to provide detailed and contextual feedback, but this process is often time-consuming and less effective in large classrooms. This study investigates the potential of AI-based chatbots as innovative tools for delivering personalized and real-time grammar feedback to support English language learning. The research employed an experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group using AI chatbots for grammar practice and a control group applying traditional teacher-based correction. Data were collected through grammar pre-tests and post-tests, writing tasks, engagement and motivation questionnaires, classroom observations, and student reflection notes. The findings demonstrate that students in the experimental group achieved significantly higher improvements in grammar accuracy compared to the control group, particularly in subject–verb agreement, tense usage, and complex sentence structures. In addition, chatbot use fostered greater engagement, motivation, and active participation, with students reporting reduced language anxiety and increased confidence in practicing English. Writing performance also improved, as students in the experimental group produced more structured, coherent, and grammatically varied texts. These results highlight the potential of AI chatbots not only to enhance linguistic accuracy but also to promote autonomous and personalized learning. In conclusion, AI chatbots represent an effective and scalable pedagogical tool that can complement traditional teaching methods while addressing teachers’ time constraints and improving students’ overall language learning outcomes.

This study aims to analyze errors in the use of Enhanced Spelling (EYD) in writing explanatory texts by grade 6 elementary school (SD) students. Explanatory text is an important type of text in learning Indonesian, but students often make mistakes in using EYD when writing this text. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with content analysis and interview techniques. Data were obtained from explanatory texts written by 6th grade elementary school students and the results of interviews with the principal, homeroom teacher, and 15 students. The research results show that students still make many mistakes in using EYD, especially in the use of capital letters, punctuation and writing words. This error is caused by students' lack of understanding about EYD, lack of practice in writing explanatory texts, lack of teacher attention to EYD teaching, and lack of support from the home environment. This research recommends that teachers pay more attention to EYD teaching, provide regular explanatory text writing practice to students, increase collaboration with parents, and create a learning environment that is conducive to the development of students' writing skills.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education has opened new possibilities for enhancing teaching and learning, particularly in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classrooms. This study examines the perceptions and motivations of third-semester management students at Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan regarding AI-assisted writing tools in their ESP courses. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 participants. Thematic analysis identified three key themes: perceptions of AI tools' usefulness, motivational factors, and challenges. Participants viewed AI tools as beneficial for improving writing skills, providing personalized feedback, and supporting collaborative learning. Motivational drivers included simplifying complex tasks and promoting independent learning. However, challenges such as technical difficulties and limited proficiency in using AI features were highlighted. The findings emphasize the potential of AI in enhancing ESP instruction, provided challenges are addressed with adequate training and support. Despite its small sample size and focus on a single institution, the study offers insights into the pedagogical implications of AI integration in specialized language education. It also provides practical recommendations for optimizing AI use in ESP classrooms while calling for broader research in diverse educational contexts.
