Learning media are physical tools that deliver information or learning materials to students. Educational videos have become one of the aids used in teaching and learning activities. These videos can support the learning process by conveying materials through the use of technology. Therefore, the researcher was interested in developing a medium that can be both heard and seen by students to help them better understand the subject matter. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Borg & Gall development model, which consists of ten development steps. The development process included initial information gathering, planning, initial product development, expert validation tests, initial product revisions, small-scale testing, second product revisions, large-scale field testing, final product refinement, and product dissemination. The results showed that the validity test of the learning media yielded a percentage of 94% from media experts, 96% from subject matter experts, 94% from language experts, and 94% from teachers. Meanwhile, the product effectiveness test using a Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000, which is lower than the threshold of 0.05. This indicates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted, proving a significant difference in student learning outcomes before and after using the educational video. Therefore, it can be concluded that the educational video on "Human Needs and Resource Scarcity" for Grade VII Social Studies is valid according to experts and effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Teaching German as a foreign language in Indonesia requires the integration of linguistic and cultural aspects to develop students’ intercultural competence. Textbooks play a significant role in representing culture, yet most language learning materials tend to portray culture superficially and selectively. This study aims to analyze the representation of cultural elements in the textbook Deutsch echt einfach A1.1 für Jugendliche using a qualitative descriptive approach and content analysis method. Data were obtained from the book’s textual and visual content, analyzed through the lens of Dweik et al.’s (2015) twelve cultural elements framework. The findings reveal that elements such as food and beverages, social behavior, and family relationships are the most frequently represented. In contrast, deeper cultural elements such as history, politics, religion, ecology, and economy are scarcely present. These results indicate that the textbook focuses primarily on surface-level culture and does not fully support the development of students’ intercultural competence. The implication is that teachers and curriculum developers need to supplement textbooks with more critical, holistic, and contextually relevant cultural materials to enhance foreign language learning.

Misterius: Publikasi Ilmu Seni dan Desain Komunikasi Visual 2025 Asosiasi Seni Desain dan Komunikasi Visual Indonesia

This study aims to obtain data on the music learning process using the Learning By Doing method with the melodica as a musical instrument for visually impaired sixth-grade students at SLB-A Pembina Tingkat Nasional (Special School for the Blind). Learning By Doing emphasizes the active involvement of students in the learning process. This is particularly relevant for visually impaired students, as they rely more heavily on their sense of hearing and touch to receive information. To gain a clear understanding of the stages of music learning using this method, the researcher employed a descriptive approach. Several data collection techniques were used, including interviews, observation of learning activities, document analysis, and field notes. The study was conducted over the course of one semester. The results of the research show that the implementation of the Learning By Doing method in music education involves three main stages: the planning stage (lesson plans and syllabus), the implementation stage (interactive learning and hands-on practice), and the evaluation stage. The application of Learning By Doing increased student engagement and understanding of basic musical tone concepts, and also supported their musical skills, auditory abilities, and experience in recognizing expression through sound. Thus, the Learning By Doing method is effective in teaching music to visually impaired students because it provides a concrete and meaningful learning experience.

Buddhist education in the millennial era faces various internal and external challenges, especially in adapting to the character of the younger generation who are highly dependent on information technology but weak in filtering moral values. Buddhist educational institutions also still face structural problems such as limited human resources, lack of contextual strengthening of Dhamma values, and an institutional image that is not yet strong in society. This study uses a library research method with content analysis and hermeneutics techniques to explore the relevance of Buddhist teachings to the dynamics of modern education. In the context of the Merdeka Belajar policy, Buddhist education has a great opportunity to transform through a flexible learning approach, strengthening student character, integrating spiritual values, and improving education management. In addition, the implementation of Buddhist leadership principles such as the Dasa Raja Dhamma and meditation practices can be a distinctive force that distinguishes Buddhist schools from other institutions. This transformation requires the active role of teachers, principals, foundations, and Buddhist organizations to synergize in building meaningful and competitive education in the digital era.

Catholic Religious Education (CRE) plays a vital role in shaping students’ character, morality, and spirituality. However, traditional and monotonous teaching approaches often lead to passive student engagement and low motivation. This article explores the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) method in CRE as an innovative, cooperative, and student-centered learning strategy. Utilizing a literature review method, this study analyzes various scholarly sources related to TPS and Catholic religious education. The findings indicate that the TPS method encourages students to think critically, engage in peer discussions, and confidently share ideas in class, thereby creating an active and inclusive learning environment. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of this method depends greatly on the teacher’s readiness in lesson planning, fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere, and providing constructive feedback. Adaptive and creative teaching strategies are essential to ensure that TPS is effectively and meaningfully applied within the context of CRE in the era of independent learning.

Student learning engagement plays a crucial role in character development, especially at the elementary school level. To foster a positive learning environment and encourage active participation, active learning approaches based on games are considered effective. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the active learning model using word-building games and the learning engagement of third-grade students at SDN 3 Jepang, Kudus Regency. The research was motivated by the low level of student participation, which is still dominated by conventional teaching methods. A correlational quantitative approach was used, with a population consisting of all 20 third-grade students, who were also taken as the sample through total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure learning engagement and observation of the implementation of the word-building game model. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used for normality testing, and since one of the variables was not normally distributed, the data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = -0.097 with a significance value of 0.686 (> 0.05), indicating no significant relationship between the word-building game model and student engagement. Other factors such as individual learning styles or classroom atmosphere may influence student engagement. Nonetheless, this model still holds potential and should be further developed to align with elementary students' characteristics.

Christian education faces significant challenges in integrating the values of missional spirituality into its curriculum and teaching practices, particularly in the context of globalization, secularization, and a declining awareness of spiritual calling among educators. This study aims to examine the extent to which Pentecostal theological values such as prayer, worship, and mission are implemented in Christian education and how these values contribute to the formation of students' character and spirituality. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, curriculum document analysis, and open-ended questionnaires administered to teachers and students. The findings reveal that the integration of missional spirituality remains partial and lacks structured incorporation into both curriculum and pedagogy. However, when implemented contextually, these values have been shown to enhance learning motivation, shape Christian character, and deepen students’ spiritual lives. The study concludes that Pentecostal-based missional spirituality can holistically enrich Christian education. The primary contribution of this research is the development of a conceptual model for the contextual and practical integration of missional spirituality in Christian education, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and practical spiritual formation.

Arabic language instruction has traditionally centered on classical Islamic texts, emphasizing rote memorization, mastery of grammar (naḥw), and rhetorical eloquence (balāghah), which, while preserving linguistic authenticity, often fail to meet the evolving educational demands of the 21st century. In an age marked by rapid technological advancement and shifting pedagogical paradigms, there is a critical need to reform Arabic teaching by integrating traditional methods with digital tools and interdisciplinary approaches. This study adopts a qualitative, literature-based methodology to explore both the foundational principles of classical pedagogy and recent innovations, including learning management systems, gamification, and AI-enhanced learning technologies. Through comparative analysis, the research identifies key disjunctions and overlaps between heritage-based teaching and modern digital practices. From this synthesis, the study proposes a reconstructed pedagogical model built on four core elements: cognitive-linguistic scaffolding, digital integration, sociocultural contextualization, and multidisciplinary instruction. This integrative approach not only fosters greater student engagement but also promotes character development in line with the objectives of Islamic education (maqāṣid al-sharīʿah). Furthermore, it supports a more adaptive and culturally responsive learning environment, contributing to broader educational reform efforts aimed at holistic learning. The findings suggest that such a model is particularly well-suited to Islamic higher education contexts while also being adaptable to global academic systems. By bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, this framework offers both a theoretical and practical foundation for modernizing Arabic language pedagogy. It holds implications for curriculum development, instructional strategies, and educational policy, advocating for a future-oriented yet culturally rooted approach to language education that respects heritage while embracing necessary transformation.

Low student interest in learning English remains a challenge in many Islamic senior high schools, particularly in rural areas where teacher-centered instruction is still dominant. One strategy proposed to address this issue is the Jigsaw method, a cooperative learning approach that emphasizes student collaboration, responsibility,p and peer teaching. This classroom action research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Khoirot to examine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw method in increasing students’ interest in learning English, specifically in descriptive text material. The participants consisted of 31 eleventh-grade students, and the study was implemented in two cycles following the Kemmis and McTaggart model. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The findings showed that the Jigsaw method significantly improved student engagement and learning outcomes. The percentage of students who achieved the minimum passing grade (KKM) increased from 35.48% in the pre-cycle to 77.42% in the second cycle. Additionally, 86.4% of students responded positively to the use of the Jigsaw method, citing increased motivation, understanding, and cooperation. Observation results also revealed active participation, especially in peer explanation and group discussions. Based on these findings, the Jigsaw method is considered effective in fostering student interest, promoting active learning, and creating a more interactive classroom environment. It is therefore recommended as an alternative strategy to enhance English learning motivation in Islamic senior high school settings.
