This study examines the implementation of Green Disaster Management (GDM) policies by the Surabaya City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as a means to enhance disaster resilience through environmental sustainability. The research analyzes the integration of GDM principles across all phases of the disaster cycle pre-disaster, during response, and post-disaster recovery. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, participant observation, and document analysis at BPBD and pilot project sites, including mangrove conservation areas, green emergency posts, and eco-friendly reconstruction sites. The findings indicate that Surabaya has demonstrated significant commitment to embedding sustainability into disaster management through community education, environmentally friendly logistics, and eco-based mitigation measures. Nonetheless, challenges persist, such as limited funding, resistance from developers, logistical constraints, and societal perceptions favoring immediate response over environmental considerations. During disaster response, innovations such as solar-powered emergency equipment and waste segregation practices are being adopted, but their widespread application remains hampered by resource limitations. Post-disaster, efforts in eco-friendly reconstruction and reforestation programs have shown promising results but require enhanced public awareness and long-term maintenance. The success of GDM implementation depends on effective inter-agency coordination, political commitment, and community engagement. Despite progress, hurdles related to budget constraints, social resistance, and knowledge gaps fully hinder the adoption of green approaches. This study highlights the importance of strategic collaboration, policy support, and community participation to mainstream sustainability in disaster management continuously. Strengthening these aspects will not only improve Surabaya's disaster resilience but also contribute to sustainable urban development aligned with global frameworks such as the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Learning mathematics not only focuses on mastering concepts and calculation skills, but also requires creating a conducive learning environment so that students can think critically, logically, and creatively. A conducive learning environment plays a crucial role in fostering student motivation and active engagement, making the success of the learning process highly dependent on the strategies implemented by the teacher. This research aims to describe mathematics teachers' strategies in creating a conducive learning environment thru the application of active and contextual learning strategies. The method used is library research, which involves collecting and reviewing various scientific sources such as books, journals, and academic articles relevant to the research topic. The research results indicate that active learning strategies are able to increase student participation, strengthen reasoning abilities, and foster learning motivation. Teachers play an important role as facilitators, motivators, mediators, and evaluators, directly influencing the learning climate in the classroom. Contextual learning strategies like REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) have proven effective in connecting mathematical concepts with students' real-life experiences and creating a fun and meaningful learning environment. In addition, humanistic classroom management, the use of technology, and adapting learning to students' different abilities are supporting factors in achieving a conducive learning environment. The implications of this research indicate that the success of mathematics learning is not solely determined by the methods used, but also by the teacher's ability to build positive relationships with students and create an interactive, adaptive learning environment that optimally fosters students' potential development.

Objectives: This study aims to analyze the direct and indirect effects of Servant Leadership on lecturers’ Job Performance through the mediating variables of Job Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (Organizational Citizenship Behavior). The study also seeks to identify which mediating variable has the strongest influence in explaining the relationship between leadership and performance among lecturers in private universities. Methodology: This study applies a causal quantitative approach using a survey method with a sample of 155 lecturers from Information Technology study programs at private universities in West Java. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test ten research hypotheses and evaluate the mediating effects among variables. Findings: The results show that Servant Leadership has a positive influence on Job Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior, but does not directly affect Job Performance. Among the mediators, only Organizational Citizenship Behavior significantly mediates the relationship between Servant Leadership and Job Performance, indicating that lecturers’ voluntary behavior plays a key role in improving performance. In contrast, Job Satisfaction and Employee Engagement do not act as significant mediators. Conclusion: The findings highlight that leadership effectiveness in higher education depends on fostering Organizational Citizenship Behavior rather than relying solely on satisfaction or engagement. The study introduces the concept of Emphatic Leadership, which emphasizes empathy, accountability, and humility as essential values for leaders in academic environments. This approach offers practical insights for developing participative and humanistic leadership models to enhance lecturers’ academic performance.

This meta-analysis provides an in-depth examination of the effectiveness of community-based interventions in alleviating collective trauma experienced by populations in conflict zones of the Middle East, compiling 47 empirical studies (N = 12,483) published between 2000 and 2023. The synthesis indicates a significant impact of community-based interventions on reducing PTSD symptoms, with a substantial effect size (d = 0.82, 95% CI [0.76, 0.88], p < .001) and moderate heterogeneity (I² = 68%), reflecting inter-study variation yet remaining within interpretable bounds. Among the strategies analysed, community psychosocial support programs demonstrated the most pronounced effectiveness (β = 0.74, p < .001), followed by collective narrative therapy (β = 0.68, p < .001) and family-based rehabilitation interventions (β = 0.59, p < .001), all underscoring the relevance of approaches rooted in social networks and interpersonal relations. Moderator analyses revealed that longer program duration, particularly interventions spanning at least 6 months (β = 0.71, p < .001), and active engagement of local leaders (β = 0.65, p < .001) were critical determinants of intervention success. Furthermore, meta-regression findings indicated a strong and consistent correlation between the intensity of community involvement and reductions in collective trauma symptoms (R² = 0.73, p < .001), highlighting that social participation is not merely complementary but constitutes the foundation of program efficacy. In the researchers' view, these findings extend the contributions of prior studies by Hassan et al. (2016) and Morrison & Marrison (2024) by affirming the central role of local wisdom in trauma recovery processes, while offering a conceptual contribution in the form of an integrative framework that merges psychosocial interventions with community cultural values. Consequently, these results provide not only an empirical basis for developing more effective trauma-healing programs in Middle Eastern conflict zones but also underscore the urgency of contextual adaptation to ensure that interventions meet the most essential needs of affected populations.

This paper examines the anatomy of extremism in Pakistan by analyzing its ideological, socio-economic, and geopolitical dimensions, as well as assessing the efficacy of the state’s counter-extremism responses. Extremism in Pakistan has evolved from sectarian and jihadist origins into a multidimensional threat fueled by ideological radicalization, socio-economic disparity, digital propaganda, and regional instability following the Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan. Despite significant tactical successes through military operations such as Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad, the state’s strategy remains constrained by weak policy coordination, limited ideological reform, and insufficient civilian engagement. The paper argues that Pakistan’s counter-extremism framework must move beyond reactive security measures toward proactive socio-political transformation. It proposes a reimagined strategic approach centered on five pillars: (1) reframing the National Action Plan (NAP 2.0) with stronger institutional coordination, (2) comprehensive education and madrassa reforms, (3) youth engagement and socio-economic reintegration, (4) digital resilience to counter online radicalization, and (5) regional cooperation through multilateral platforms such as the SCO. The study concludes that enduring resilience against extremism requires a whole-of-nation approach that integrates ideological pluralism, governance reform, and regional diplomacy to transform Pakistan’s counter-extremism policy from containment to long-term stability and inclusive national identity.

This article explores the significance of ontological security in shaping Indonesia’s foreign policy formulation. Moving beyond material conceptions of security focused on military, economic, and territorial dimensions it argues that Indonesia’s foreign behavior is deeply influenced by the need to maintain a stable sense of national identity and historical continuity. As the world’s largest Muslim-majority democracy and a leading Southeast Asian nation, Indonesia consistently projects itself through identity-based narratives rooted in anti-colonialism and the “free and active” foreign policy doctrine. Its unwavering support for Palestinian independence, participation in the Non-Aligned Movement, and regional leadership in ASEAN illustrate how ontological security underpins diplomatic consistency and domestic legitimacy. However, the same identity-driven approach can also create friction between ideological commitments and pragmatic interests, particularly in managing relations with major powers such as China and the United States. The study concludes that while ontological security provides coherence and credibility, it also demands adaptive strategies. It recommends identity-sensitive diplomacy, coherent narrative management, strategic flexibility, and inclusive public engagement to ensure that Indonesia’s foreign policy remains balanced between identity preservation and practical global engagement.

This study analyzes the role of women in sustaining social harmony and strengthening multicultural education within the multiethnic society of Singkawang through a critical literature review approach. By integrating the Feminist Peace Theory and Multicultural Education Theory, this research examines both national and international scholarly works that explore women’s contributions to peacebuilding and multicultural education in Southeast Asia. The review reveals that women serve as cultural mediators, peace educators, and social innovators through interethnic and interfaith engagements such as cultural festivals, interreligious forums, and community-based initiatives. Despite notable progress in promoting multicultural education in Singkawang, gender perspectives remain insufficiently integrated into educational practices. Through a synthesis of the reviewed literature, this study proposes a conceptual framework of Gendered Multicultural Peace Education (GMPE), comprising three interrelated dimensions: women’s empowerment in educational and social leadership, empathy-based interethnic learning, and the integration of gender equality into curricula and school culture. The model underscores the strategic role of women as transformative agents and peace educators in multiethnic societies. The findings provide significant implications for the development of gender-sensitive and inclusive educational policies in Indonesia

In the context of accelerating global economic volatility, organizations are increasingly required to adopt agile business models that enable them to remain competitive and resilient. Although business agility has been extensively discussed from structural and technological perspectives, the strategic role of Human Resources (HR) in shaping agile organizations and addressing the future of work remains insufficiently explored. This study aims to examine how HR contributes to organizational adaptability and resilience in uncertain environments by aligning human capital practices with agile frameworks. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys and semi-structured interviews with HR leaders and employees in industries most exposed to economic disruption, including finance, technology, and manufacturing. The findings reveal four critical dimensions of HR’s role: workforce flexibility achieved through reskilling initiatives and adaptive work arrangements; agile leadership development to enhance decision-making under uncertainty; prioritization of employee well-being and engagement as foundations of organizational resilience; and digital HR transformation leveraging analytics and artificial intelligence to strengthen efficiency and collaboration. These findings validate and extend the existing literature, demonstrating that HR is not merely a supporting or administrative function but a strategic driver of agility. The study concludes that by embedding HR strategies into organizational agility frameworks, companies can better navigate economic turbulence, enhance workforce adaptability, and secure long-term competitiveness in the global market.
