The study, titled "The Influence of the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) Method on Improving Early Reading Skills," examines the factors that contribute to students' reading difficulties, including (1) lack of knowledge about letters and (2) inability to understand the meaning of sentences being read. Therefore, the researcher implemented the SAS method as a strategy for early reading instruction. This research employed a quantitative experimental method to improve the reading abilities of first-grade students at SDN Gili Anyar. The study adopted a one-group pre-experimental design, consisting of pre-test and post-test phases. A quota sampling technique was used to select 22 first-grade students as participants. Data were collected through tests and observations, and a z-test was employed to assess the differences in mean scores before and after the intervention. The findings are as follows: 1) The average reading ability of the students before the intervention (pre-test) was 81.37, categorized as sufficient. 2)After the intervention (post-test), the average score improved to 91.17, categorized as very good. 3)The study concludes that the hypothesis (H1) is accepted, indicating that the SAS method effectively enhances the reading skills of first-grade students at SDN Gili Anyar.

Reading is an interactive process where readers construct meaning from texts, relying on various skills, including comprehension. It is fundamental for learning and daily life, and its importance is underscored by the rise of information and communication technology (ICT), which facilitates access to information through tools like the internet. Online platforms, such as Wattpad, have emerged as popular resources for improving literacy among students, particularly in narrative texts. At SMPN 28 Bekasi, English is a compulsory subject, yet students face challenges in reading comprehension, especially in understanding narrative texts. Despite the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka, which focuses on project-based learning, many students struggle to meet reading standards. This research aims to investigate the impact of the Wattpad application on students' reading comprehension of narrative texts, given their difficulties and lack of engagement with traditional reading materials. The survey revealed mixed preferences among students, with strong leanings towards novels (45%), fiction (56%), and romance (44%). Short stories are less popular but still attract the interest of some readers. The majority of students (46.7%) use Wattpad daily, spending mostly 30-60 minutes per session. Many read 2-4 texts per month and often follow specific authors. About 60% of students use bookmarks regularly, while 66.7% prefer texts recommended by Wattpad. The note-taking feature shows mixed use, indicating varying levels of engagement. Reviews and ratings are very important to 83.3% of students when selecting texts. Students generally felt confident in following the storyline (83.3% often or always), analyzing characters (83.3%), and identifying the main conflict (83.3%). Most students apply information from texts in real life, frequently reread for clarity, and often create summaries. Overall, these findings demonstrate high engagement and understanding among Wattpad students, demonstrating their diverse reading habits and interactive use of the platform.

Scientific writing serves as a platform for students to convey their knowledge, experiences, and information to readers. Data literacy is a crucial tool that aids students in developing, analyzing, and concluding the data they have gathered into well-constructed scientific writing. This research aims to describe students' ability to write scientific papers with respect to data literacy in higher education institutions. To gather research data, the researchers employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study represent the challenges or difficulties faced by the students. Data collection techniques include careful observation and reading of these papers, and documentation techniques involve marking or noting significant parts of the students' scientific works. Data analysis involved mapping frequent errors and calculating the percentage of these errors based on the characteristics of scientific writing. The results indicated that students' ability to write scientific papers remains low, particularly in the areas of idea development and discussion. The following percentages illustrate the students' writing abilities and data literacy: 14.25% of students can develop ideas, with 19% data literacy at the analysis stage. The ability to write the results and discussion sections of scientific papers is at 13.40%, with 12.40% data literacy at the conclusion-making stage. In the concluding section, 71.20% of students accurately write conclusions, with 67.60% data literacy at the reading stage. This study's findings highlight persistent issues in idea development and the results and discussion sections in scientific writing at higher education institutions. Further research should focus on these sections to address the difficulties identified in this study.

Indonesian language instruction in elementary schools aims to improve students' oral and written communication. Indonesian serves as a primary tool for students to hone their language skills correctly and effectively. Reading skills in elementary school are divided into two phases: initial reading (lower grades) and further reading (upper grades). Initial reading skills influence students' readiness before entering the next learning stage. However, second-grade elementary school students often face difficulties in developing initial reading and writing skills. Factors such as socio-economic background, gender, and teaching methods used by teachers can affect the success of literacy programs. By considering these factors, we can improve students' literacy skills at the beginning level.

This study examines the types and factors of reading difficulties in children at MIS Kertajaya II Mangunjaya, as well as evaluating the application of Problem-Based Learning Strategies (SPBM) implemented by classroom teachers. This qualitative research used observation, interview and documentation methods to collect data. The results showed that 8 students experienced reading difficulties, with various types of difficulties such as difficulty seeing long distances, low memory, difficulty spelling and pronouncing letters, and lack of letter recognition. Teachers at MIS Kertajaya II Mangunjaya implemented SPBM with the method of showing animated videos, using everyday problems, letter card media, and remedial programs to overcome students' reading difficulties. SPBM proved effective with the support of adequate infrastructure, but was hampered by unconducive classroom conditions. This study also identified the types and factors of reading difficulties at MIS Kertajaya II Mangunjaya and evaluated the effectiveness of SPBM in overcoming them. The implementation of SPBM proved to be beneficial, but needs adjustments to maximize its effectiveness.

This research was conducted because of the many problems associated with intensive reading in the digital era, where children often read but do not understand the information they read. The aim of this research is to understand the factors that cause difficulties with intensive reading in the digital era in elementary school children, as well as the solutions proposed by researchers. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The subjects of this research were fifth grade elementary school students and students. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that one of the factors causing difficulty in intensive reading in elementary school children in the current digital era is difficulty in maintaining focus when reading using digital media. Staring at a cellphone screen for a long time can cause eye fatigue and reduce focus when reading.
