The low involvement of teenagers in church service activities is a challenge experienced by many local churches, including HKBP Lumban Nabolon. This community service activity aims to encourage the active participation of Naposo Bulung teenagers in church services through a musical arts approach, especially choir practice. IAKN Tarutung students who are implementing the Practical Lecture and Community Service (KPPM) program take on the role of facilitators, vocal trainers, and motivators in fostering teenagers to be more actively involved in church liturgy. The method used in this activity is a participatory approach through observation, interviews, direct training, and group reflection. The findings show that choir practice not only improves the technical vocal skills of teenagers, but also builds self-confidence, togetherness, and commitment to service. As many as 70% of teenagers who were previously passive began to show enthusiasm in participating in practice and performing in worship. This activity also has an impact on improving relations between Naposo Bulung members and the formation of a more lively service climate among the younger generation. These results show that church music, when carried out in a focused and inclusive manner, can be an effective means of empowering teenagers. This community service activity recommends that choir practice be made a routine church development program with ongoing mentoring from the church and educational institution partners.

This study explores the role of Social Studies (IPS) teachers in optimizing students’ learning activeness through the implementation of the Active Learning model at SMPN 3 Srengat Blitar. The background of this study includes issues such as students’ lack of discipline when entering the classroom, classroom attitudes and habits that hinder the learning process, and the use of monotonous and less engaging teaching methods. The purpose of this research is to examine the role of IPS teachers, the impact of implementing Active Learning, the challenges teachers face, and institutional support provided by the school in enhancing student engagement. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school authorities. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and theories. The results indicate that IPS teachers actively serve as facilitators and motivators in implementing Active Learning strategies, such as group discussions, student presentations, and the use of interactive media. The application of this model increased student participation, encouraged self-expression, and enhanced classroom engagement. Despite challenges such as time constraints and varying student readiness, school support significantly contributed to the successful implementation of this approach. Thus, Active Learning is proven to be effective in creating an engaging and student-centered learning environment, aligning with the theory proposed by Bonwell and Eison.

Fisheries extension services play a strategic role in strengthening the capacity of fish farmers and accelerating the development of sustainable aquaculture businesses. The effectiveness of extension activities is strongly influenced by how fish farmers perceive the roles performed by fisheries extension workers. This study aims to analyze the level of fish farmers’ perceptions of the role of fisheries extension workers in developing aquaculture businesses in Loa Kulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. In addition, this research examines the characteristics of fish farmers and analyzes the relationship between internal and external factors and the level of perception toward extension roles. This study employed a descriptive and correlational research design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A total of 42 respondents were selected from 719 fish farmers using the Slovin formula with a 15% margin of error and proportionate stratified random sampling across 10 villages. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman's rank correlation analysis. The results indicate that the overall perception of fish farmers toward the roles of fisheries extension workers—namely as educators, facilitators, motivators, innovators, advocates, organizers, and evaluators—falls within the high category. Among these roles, the organizer and facilitator roles received the highest perception scores. Internal factors such as age, income, and land area showed significant correlations with certain extension roles, particularly the roles of educator, motivator, and evaluator. External factors, including interaction with extension workers, interaction with traders, availability of market information, and access to aquaculture science and technology, were also significantly correlated with perception levels. These findings suggest that strengthening both socio-economic conditions and access to information and technology can enhance positive perceptions of extension services, ultimately contributing to more effective aquaculture development programs. The study highlights the importance of optimizing extension performance to sustain fish farmers’ productivity and welfare improvement.

This research discusses the revitalization of the mudzakarah method to enhance interactive learning for students. The mudzakarah method is a teaching technique based on two-way discussions aimed at deepening understanding and increasing student engagement through the exchange of opinions. With a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature studies, this research explores how this method can be effectively applied. The research results show that the implementation of structured discussions, clear guidelines, and open communication can encourage student participation, enhance critical and collaborative thinking skills, and motivate them in learning. However, there are Challenges, such as the lack of understanding of the discussion concept by students, which can be addressed through the role of the teacher as a facilitator and motivator.
