Instilling Islamic art values from an early age is a strategic step in shaping children's character based on local spiritual and cultural values. One potential approach to achieving this goal is through the introduction and learning of traditional Islamic musical instruments, such as the gendang habsyi. The gendang habsyi, as a musical instrument that is identical to the poems of praise to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, has high educational and spiritual value, and is able to attract children's interest through its rhythmic and interactive elements. This article aims to examine the role of the gendang habsyi in fostering elementary school children's interest in Islamic art, both from musical, educational, and social aspects. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved observation and interviews with art teachers, students, and parents at an Islamic elementary school. The findings show that the introduction of the gendang habsyi is not only able to arouse children's interest in Islamic musical art, but also strengthen their love for Islamic culture, foster a spirit of togetherness, and increase children's self-confidence in expressing themselves positively. In addition, the fun and contextual learning method through the habsyi drum game has proven effective in building an inclusive and meaningful learning atmosphere. Therefore, the integration of habsyi drums in the art curriculum at the elementary school level is worth considering as one of the strategic alternatives in Islamic art education based on local culture.

This study aims to identify and understand the root causes of low student learning outcomes in writing descriptive texts in grade IV of elementary school. Based on the results of field observations, it was found that the majority of students scored below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) in both cognitive and psychomotor aspects. In addition, student participation in learning activities is also relatively low, which is reflected in minimal interaction, lack of discipline, and lack of self-expression. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, using observations in the form of tests and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that lack of understanding of the structure and characteristics of descriptive texts, interaction in learning, challenges in using learning media, and low student motivation are dominant factors in decreasing the quality of learning outcomes. Other factors are low interest in reading and limited student vocabulary. This study recommends that learning be carried out with a more communicative, applicable, and meaningful approach according to the characteristics of students in elementary schools.

This study aims to determine the extent to which the school environment influences students’ interests and motivation in learning at SDN Maos Lor 04. The main research subjects were grade V students, and teachers as supporting informants. The school environment, which includes the physical condition of the building, social interaction, and availability of learning facilities, plays an important role in creating a positive and enjoyable lerning atmosphere, This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that a clean, orderly, safe school atmosphere, as well as a harmonious relationship between teachers and students can encourage enthusiasm for learning and increase student involvement in the learning process.
