This research aims to analyze the strategies for increasing Local Own-Source Revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah/PAD) implemented by the Regional Revenue Agency (Badan Pendapatan Daerah/Bapenda) of Surabaya City. As the second largest city in Indonesia and the capital of East Java Province, Surabaya has significant potential for local revenue that needs to be optimized to support regional development. Using SWOT analysis framework and strategic management theory from David, this study examines the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in PAD management, as well as the strategies formulated and implemented to increase revenue. This qualitative research employs a descriptive approach with data collection through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study at Bapenda Surabaya City during June-August 2025. Informants include agency leaders, division heads, tax and retribution collectors, and taxpayers. The results indicate that Surabaya City has successfully increased its PAD from Rp 5.2 trillion in 2022 to Rp 6.8 trillion in 2024, representing a 31% growth. Key strategies implemented include digital transformation of tax services through e-tax system, intensification of existing tax sources, extensification through identification of new taxpayers, improvement of taxpayer compliance through education and enforcement, and inter-agency collaboration for data integration. The study identifies several challenges including tax evasion, outdated property valuations, and limited human resources. This research recommends strengthening digital infrastructure, updating tax object databases, enhancing taxpayer awareness programs, improving coordination with central government, and developing performance-based incentive systems for revenue collectors.

This research aims to analyze the innovation in population services, called Duta Hatiku (Dukcapil Tanggap Bencana Harapan Timbul Kembali Utuh/Civil Registration Disaster Response: Hope Rises Again Completely), implemented by the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) of Sidoarjo Regency. This innovation was developed as a quick response service for disaster victims who lost their identity documents. Drawing on the public service innovation theory of Mulgan and Albury, this study examines the novelty, implementation, and impact of the Duta Hatiku program. This qualitative research employs a descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation at Disdukcapil Sidoarjo during May-July 2025. Informants include program managers, field officers, disaster victims as service beneficiaries, and related stakeholders. The results indicate that the Duta Hatiku innovation has successfully provided rapid population document recovery services to disaster victims, with an average service completion time of only 2-3 days, compared to the standard 14 days. The program utilizes mobile service units equipped with portable equipment for on-site document processing at disaster locations. Since its implementation, the program has served 2,847 disaster victims from various incidents, including floods, fires, and landslides. The innovation demonstrates strong characteristics of novelty in service delivery approach, significant improvement in service accessibility, and positive impact on community resilience. This study recommends strengthening coordination with disaster management agencies, expanding mobile unit capacity, developing integrated database systems, and replicating the model to other regions.

This research aims to evaluate the SQUAD Dewan (Suara Kita Untuk Demokrasi/Our Voice for Democracy) program implemented by the Secretariat of East Java Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD). The SQUAD Dewan program is an innovative initiative designed to enhance public participation in the legislative process and strengthen democratic practices at the provincial level. Using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model developed by Stufflebeam, this study examines the program's effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability. This qualitative research employs a descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observation, and documentation at the Secretariat of the DPRD of East Java Province. Informants include program managers, legislative council members, public participants, and community representatives. The results indicate that the SQUAD Dewan program has successfully increased public engagement in legislative activities, with a 45% increase in public hearing participation and 60% growth in policy input submissions from 2022 to 2023. The program has effectively utilized digital platforms for broader outreach, reaching over 150,000 citizens through online forums and social media campaigns. However, challenges remain in terms of geographic coverage inequality, limited participation from rural communities, and the need for more sustainable funding mechanisms. This study recommends strengthening digital infrastructure in rural areas, developing capacity-building programs for community facilitators, establishing permanent funding allocations, and creating feedback mechanisms to enhance program responsiveness to public needs.

This research aims to analyze the implementation of social rehabilitation programs for persons with physical disabilities at the Social Affairs Office of Pasuruan City, East Java. Persons with physical disabilities face various challenges in accessing public services and participating in social life, thus requiring comprehensive rehabilitation programs. Using the implementation theory of George C. Edward III, this study examines four critical factors: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. This qualitative research employs a descriptive approach with data collection through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation study. Informants include officials from the Social Affairs Office, rehabilitation program staff, persons with physical disabilities as program beneficiaries, and community members. The results indicate that the implementation of social rehabilitation programs has been running according to established procedures, including physical rehabilitation services, vocational training, and social assistance provision. However, several obstacles were identified, including limited budget allocation, inadequate accessibility of rehabilitation facilities, shortage of trained social workers, and lack of public awareness regarding disability issues. The program has successfully provided assistive devices to 85 beneficiaries and vocational training to 60 persons with physical disabilities in 2023. This study recommends strengthening coordination between related agencies, increasing budget allocation, improving facility accessibility, and conducting socialization to enhance community participation in supporting persons with physical disabilities.

Stress is something that inevitably occurs in every individual, including in the minds of every Islamic boarding school student. The busy schedule and academic demands make students prone to feeling depressed and vulnerable to stress. This requires good stress coping strategies to overcome every problem that arises. One factor that can increase the ability to deal with stress is religiosity. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between religiosity and stress coping strategies among students. The participants of this study were 130 students selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments used were a religiosity scale and a stress coping strategy scale. The results showed that stress coping strategies have a positive and significant relationship with religiosity. An R Square value of 0.329 indicates that religiosity contributes 32.9 percent to the students' coping strategy abilities.

This study aims to analyze students’ perceptions of public speaking training in improving self-confidence at Madrasah Al Hidayah Betoyokauman. The research is motivated by the low level of students’ self-confidence when speaking in public, which is often characterized by nervousness, fear, and reluctance to express opinions. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach to explore students’ subjective experiences and interpretations after participating in public speaking training. The research activities were conducted on Thursday, January 8, 2026, through material presentations and direct public speaking practice, including roles such as master of ceremony, presentations, speeches, and stand-up comedy. Data were collected using a student perception questionnaire to capture students’ views and experiences regarding changes in self-confidence after the training. The results indicate that students generally have positive perceptions of the public speaking training and experience an improvement in self-confidence, as reflected in increased speaking courage, better control of nervousness, and stronger belief in their own abilities. The training not only enhances students’ speaking skills but also serves as a medium for developing students’ soft skills. This study implies that public speaking training can be implemented as a supportive program to improve students’ self-confidence and communication skills in the madrasah environment.

The fundamental issue in sustainable tourism management that remains less than optimal can be seen from the limited involvement of local communities and the lack of integrated management of tourism potential in the Pura Maduwe Karang area. The purpose of this study is to analyze sustainable tourism management in the management of Pura Maduwe Karang. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method through observation, interviews, literature review, and documentation. The theoretical foundations used include the concepts of Sustainable Tourism, the Triple Bottom Line, and Tourism Impact Theory.The results show that the implementation of sustainable tourism management at Pura Maduwe Karang is still basic and has not been structured professionally. The socio-cultural aspect is relatively well preserved through customary roles and ceremonial activities; however, the economic aspect has not provided significant benefits for individuals in the local community, as contributions remain limited to collective interests of the traditional village. The environmental aspect is currently well maintained due to the temple’s sacred status but may decline if tourist numbers increase without proper management. The main constraints lie in the lack of promotion, facilities, and human resource capacity in management. This study emphasizes the importance of tourism management strategies that balance the dimensions of profit, people, and planet, and encourages collaboration among traditional villages, local governments, and communities to maintain the sustainability of the temple as both a cultural heritage site and a tourist destination.

This study aims to carry out a thorough analysis of the use of stylistic elements, particularly in terms of diction and language style, as applied by Pitoyo Amrih to shape the character of Gatotkaca in the novel Sisi Gelap Gatotkaca. The character of Gatotkaca, traditionally depicted as a flawless heroic figure, is reimagined by the author through a more humanistic and reflective linguistic approach. Using a qualitative descriptive method alongside stylistic literary criticism, this article examines how linguistic units within the text serve as rhetorical tools to reveal internal conflicts, existential burdens, and the darker aspects of the main character. The analysis process involves identifying word choices that carry a melancholic tone as well as the prominent use of figurative language, including comparisons, contrasts, and emphatic statements. The findings indicate that the use of archaic and philosophical diction, combined with sharp irony and metaphor, effectively transforms the image of Gatotkaca from merely a symbol of physical strength into a representation of human psychological fragility. This research contributes to literary criticism by highlighting how an author’s language style can alter readers' perceptions of established myths within society's culture.

This study aims to: (1) examine the effect of an entrepreneurship program using a Design thinking approach on the entrepreneurial spirit of Grade V students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Baraya 1, Makassar City, and (2) examine the effect of an entrepreneurship program using a Design thinking approach on student independence of Grade V students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Baraya 1, Makassar City. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two groups: an experimental group that received an entrepreneurship program based on Design thinking and a control group that did not receive the treatment. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring students’ entrepreneurial spirit and independence, supported by documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing through an independent samples t-test. The results indicate that the entrepreneurship program using a design thinking approach had a significant positive effect on students’ entrepreneurial spirit and independence. The independent samples t-test revealed that the program significantly improved students’ entrepreneurial spirit (p = 0.002 < 0.05) compared to the control group. Likewise, a very significant effect was found on student independence, with a significance value of p = 0.001 < 0.05. These findings confirm that the application of a design thinking–based entrepreneurship program effectively enhances key entrepreneurial attributes, including creativity, initiative, responsibility, and independence among fifth-grade elementary school students.

The environmental crisis is a global issue that has become increasingly evident and directly affects human life, including rural communities. Deforestation, environmental pollution, and changes in human lifestyles reflect an imbalanced relationship between humanity and nature. From a Christian faith perspective, the environmental crisis is not merely an ecological or social problem. This article aims to examine ecotheology as a foundation of Christian faith in responding to environmental crises, while also describing its practical implementation through a Community Service program conducted by lecturers and students of the Master’s Program in Christian Religious Education at IAKN Tarutung in 2025 in Situmeang Pintu Bosi Village, Sipoholon District, North Tapanuli Regency. The method employed is a qualitative approach using a participatory service model, which includes ecotheological material presentations, Bible-based reflective discussions, and the accompaniment of simple environmental care actions with the local community. The service materials emphasize the understanding of God as the Creator and Owner of all creation, the cultural mandate and stewardship, the reality of sin and its impact on the degradation of creation, and the role of the church and believers in preserving environmental integrity. The results indicate an increased theological understanding among the community regarding Christian responsibility toward the environment, along with the growth of ethical awareness to care for nature through concrete actions in daily life. This activity affirms that ecotheology is not merely conceptual, but has practical relevance in fostering faith-based ecological awareness.

The quality of educational human resources (HR) is a key factor in determining the quality and success of educational implementation in schools. However, many schools still face problems of low performance, motivation, and professionalism among teachers and educational staff due to leadership that is not responsive to the diversity of conditions and human resource needs. This study aims to examine situational leadership as a strategy employed by school principals to improve the quality of educational human resources. The study adopts a literature review approach with qualitative content analysis of books, scholarly journal articles, and relevant previous research. The findings indicate that situational leadership enables school principals to adjust leadership styles directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating according to the levels of readiness, competence, and motivation of teachers and educational staff. Adaptive and participative leadership contributes positively to improved performance, work commitment, professionalism, and the creation of a conducive organizational climate and school culture. Therefore, situational leadership can be used as a strategic approach in planning, implementing, and evaluating sustainable educational quality improvement programs.

Leadership is a strategic factor in improving the quality of Islamic educational institutions. The challenges of social change and globalization demand leadership models that are not only managerially effective but also grounded in Islamic values. This study aims to analyze models of Islamic educational leadership and their implications for institutional quality. The research method employed is a literature review, examining books and national and international journal articles indexed in Scopus and SINTA over the last five years. The findings indicate that transformational, visionary, democratic, and prophetic leadership play a significant role in enhancing educator performance, building an Islamic organizational culture, and strengthening the governance of Islamic educational institutions. The integration of Islamic values with modern leadership principles emerges as a strategic approach to developing the quality of Islamic education.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between school principals' leadership and the management of curriculum and educational programs in schools. Principals play a strategic role in guiding, coordinating, and developing the curriculum to align with the school's vision, mission, and the needs of students. Through a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature review, this study highlights the importance of principals' managerial competence in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of educational programs, whether intracurricular, co-curricular, or extracurricular, is highly influenced by the principal's ability to manage human resources, facilities, and the school's organizational climate. This research aims to develop a deep learning-based mathematics e-module with the integration of the context of the Suramadu Bridge in scale and comparison materials for grade VII junior high school students. The development model used is the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model which includes the stage of defining learning needs, designing e-modules, product development, and limited deployment. The research instruments used included validation sheets of media and material experts, observation sheets of teacher and student activities, learning outcome tests, and student response questionnaires. The results of the study showed that the e-modules developed met the valid criteria with a media validity level of 94.29% and material of 95%. In addition, the e-module is considered practical with teacher practicality of 78.67% and students of 86.67%, and effective with a learning effectiveness rate of 83.83%. The students' response to the e-module was also very positive, which showed that the integration of the local context of the Suramadu Bridge and the deep learning approach was able to increase student engagement, learning motivation, and understanding of mathematical concepts in a meaningful way. These findings indicate that local context-based e-modules can be an innovative alternative in mathematics learning that is relevant to students' real lives as well as support the implementation of 21st century learning.

In the contemporary era,many people have yet to fully comprehend or internalize the spiritual and social dimensions of prayer (shalat). As a result, shalat is often carried out merely as a routine obligation without deep reflection on its true purpose. In fact, shalat plays a significant role in shaping personal character and social behavior. This study employs a literature review approach by examining various sources, including books, academic journals, and educational articles that discuss the concept and significance of shalat as an act of worship. The findings indicate that a profound understanding of the inner meanings of shalat can foster self-awareness, self-control, and discipline. These values strongly contribute to the development of moral and ethical character. Furthermore, shalat reflects collective religiosity through its practices and procedures, symbolizing spiritual purification, reverence for God, and awareness of human limitations. Congregational prayer further emphasizes principles of unity, brotherhood, and equality, regardless of social status or background. In addition, shalat functions as a moral safeguard that prevents individuals from engaging in immoral and harmful actions. Therefore, shalat plays a crucial role not only in strengthening spiritual devotion but also in maintaining personal integrity and social harmony.

Fasting is one of the main acts of worship in Islam that has profound meaning, both spiritualy, socially, and health-wise. This study aims to examine the benefits of fasting in the perspective of sunnah through a pure qualitative approach using the phenomenological method. The focus of the study is on how the practice of sunnah fasting, such as Monday-Thursday, Daud. Arafah, Ashura and Ayyamul Bidh, affects the increase in spiritually, inner peace, and sincerity of individuals. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method thar aims to examine the benefits of fasting in the perspesctive of sunnah. Data were obtained from various relevant literature sources, imcluding the Qur’an, hadith, fiqh books, and national jurnals listed in thebibliography with a publication range 2009-2024. The results of the study show that fasting not only serves as  a form of obedience to Allah SWT, but also as a means of purifying the soul, controlling desires, and increasing social empathy. In addition, fasting has physiological benefits that can improve physical health. Thus, fasting in the perspective of sunnah is a comprehensive spiritual education shaping Muslims to be pious, patient and noble in character.

The Qur’an and Hadith are the main references for Islamic teachings and function as the essential basis for Islamic education. They function not only as a guide for the lives of Muslims but also as the basis for determining educational goals, values, curricula, and methods. The aim of Islamic education is to develop individuals who are balanced in faith, knowledge, morals, and skills, enabling them to fulfill their roles as servants of Allah and His representatives on earth. This research seeks to analyze the role of the Qur’an and Hadith as the fundamental basis of Islamic education and their influence on shaping educational objectives, values, curriculum design, and teaching methods. The research method used is a systematic review of national and international journal articles published from 2020 to 2025. The results show that Islamic education places emphasis on forming al-insan al-kamil individuals characterized by faith, knowledge, noble character, and a sense of responsibility. Through curricula and educational methods grounded in the Qur’an and Hadith, values such as faith, piety, honesty, and social concern are instilled.

This study discusses the role of prayer in shaping character and daily ethics as one of the main pillars of Islamic teachings. Prayer is not merely a ritual act of worship but also serves as a means of spiritual and moral education and shapes the overall personality of Muslims. This study uses a literature review method by examining various sources such as books, journals, and scientific articles relevant to Google Scholar from 2020 to 2025, sourced from 20 Indonesian-language journals and 5 English-language journals. Based on this background, prayer plays an important role in instilling values of discipline, responsibility, sincerity, patience, and self-reflection, which contribute to the formation of an individual's character and integrity. In addition, prayer also serves as the foundation of social ethics by fostering honesty, justice, empathy, politeness, and solidarity in social interactions. There is also congregational prayer, which, when performed, can strengthen the values of togetherness, brotherhood, and social concern, which are the foundations of a harmonious social life. Research shows that consistent and solemn prayer practices can control desires, prevent immoral and evil deeds, and provide mental and spiritual balance for the practitioner. Islamic education in Indonesia plays a strategic role in shaping students’ religious character as well as their national identity, and therefore cannot be separated from the ideological foundations of Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Islamic education functions not only as a means of transmitting religious values, but also as a medium for internalizing national ideology in line with the goals of national education. This study aims to analyze the ideological foundations of Islamic education based on the values of tauhid, Pancasila, and NKRI, as well as to examine their relevance to national education policies and curricula. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research design. The data were obtained from secondary sources, including scholarly books, journal articles, education policy documents, and relevant legislation. Data collection was conducted through documentation studies, while data analysis applied a descriptive-analytical method to systematically examine the interrelationships among concepts. The findings indicate that the ideological values of Pancasila are substantively aligned with Islamic teachings, particularly in the aspects of divinity, humanity, unity, deliberation, and social justice. Within the framework of NKRI, Islamic education contributes significantly to the formation of religious-nationalist character and the strengthening of national integration. The integration of Pancasila values, religious moderation, and Islam rahmatan lil ‘alamin into national education policies and curricula, particularly through the Merdeka Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile, reflects a systematic effort to develop Islamic education that is adaptive and contextual. The implications of this study emphasize that strengthening the ideological foundations of Islamic education is a crucial prerequisite for producing learners who are faithful, knowledgeable, morally upright, and responsible citizens of Indonesia.
