This study aims to improve the quality of learning at SD Negeri 060915, Medan Sunggal District, through the implementation of a participatory learning approach using Participatory Action Research (PAR). The background of the study is based on the low level of student engagement in classroom activities and the teacher’s reliance on traditional lecture methods, which hinder active student participation. This classroom action research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and formative assessments. The results showed that the participatory learning approach had a positive impact on increasing student engagement, collaboration in group work, and academic performance, as indicated by an increase in the average student score from 66.4 in the first cycle to 77.2 in the second cycle. Teachers also improved their role as facilitators, and the classroom environment became more interactive and student-centered. The study concludes that the participatory approach is effective in creating an active, collaborative, and meaningful learning environment in elementary education.

This study examines the transfer of custody (hadhanah) rights of a non-mumayyiz child to the father, as decided in Judicial Decision No. 1882/Pdt.G/2019/PA.Mdn by the Medan Religious Court. According to Article 105 letter (a) of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), the custody of a child under the age of 12 (non-mumayyiz) is generally granted to the mother. However, in this case, the court ruled otherwise. The focus of this research is to analyze the legal reasoning and judicial considerations behind this deviation from normative provisions. This is a normative legalresearch employing a juridical and conceptual approach. Primary data include statutory provisions and the official court ruling, while secondary data are derived from classical Islamic jurisprudence, modern legal commentaries, and related literature. The analysis uses descriptive-analytical methods to examine the legal basis, fiqh arguments, and the principle of maslahah al-mahdhun (best interests of the child). The findings indicate that the court transferred custody to the father on the grounds that the mother had remarried and was experiencing psychological instability, which could endanger the child’s well-being. The decision was based on Article 156 letter (c) of the KHI, which allows custody to be transferred if the mother fails to guarantee the child’s physical and mental safety. The judge also considered the father's financial capability, emotional stability, and supportive environment as decisive factors in ensuring the child's best interests. This research concludes that child custody in Islamic law is flexible and adaptive, prioritizing the child’s welfare over formal legal entitlements. It also highlights the role of religious court jurisprudence in aligning Islamic legal norms with contemporary social realities.

Early marriage is a complex social issue that requires special attention due to its negative impacts on individual development, health, and family stability. In Indonesia, policies related to early marriage are regulated in Law No. 16 of 2019, which sets the minimum age for marriage. The Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) Medan City plays a crucial role in addressing and preventing early marriage through various policies and programs, one of which is youth counseling and the certificate of marriage eligibility program. This study aims to analyze KUA Medan City's policies on handling and preventing early marriage and to assess the effectiveness of these programs. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach through an internship at KUA Medan City, involving observation and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The findings show that KUA Medan City has implemented policies to address early marriage effectively, although there are several challenges in its implementation, such as a lack of public understanding regarding the legal marriage age and low interest in participating in marriage counseling programs. In conclusion, while significant efforts have been made, there is still a need to raise public awareness and expand access to services provided by KUA to reduce the incidence of early marriage in the area.

The guidance actions taken showed positive developments, such as increased courage of students to ask questions, reduced conflict between friends, and improved student attendance rates. The discussion emphasized the importance of collaboration between teachers, students, and parents to create a supportive learning environment. Guidance and counseling services with an empathetic approach and storytelling techniques have proven effective in fostering changes in students' attitudes and behaviors. The demand for goats for religious rituals such as aqiqah and qurban during Eid al-Adha has shown a significant upward trend each year, in line with the growing awareness among Muslims to observe religious practices in accordance with Islamic law. This study aims to explore the strategies employed and the challenges faced by traditional goat farmers in responding to this evolving demand. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The subject of this study was Mr. Anto, an experienced goat farmer and trader who manages the “Adinda Aqiqah” business in Medan City. The findings reveal that Mr. Anto’s main strategies include stock management through the raising of hundreds of goats of various breeds (Kacang, Etawa, and sheep), the selection of high-productivity superior breeds, and the setting of competitive selling prices for both qurban and aqiqah needs. On the other hand, the primary challenges encountered include limited infrastructure, particularly at sales locations, animal health risks due to adverse weather conditions, and the lack of effectiveness in using social media as a marketing tool to reach a wider consumer base. These findings offer a clear picture of how traditional livestock practices adapt to market demands, while also highlighting the need for improvements in technology, marketing, and policy support to enhance competitiveness in this dynamic, seasonal market.

This study aims to analyze the price elasticity of demand and supply of local lemon oranges in Indonesia, a key horticultural commodity. The data used are historical records of prices and demand in Sleman Regency (2003–2006), as well as consumption and supply in Medan City (2010–2011). The research adopts a quantitative approach using price elasticity analysis with the midpoint formula. The results show that demand is inelastic (Ed < 1), meaning that price changes do not significantly affect lemon demand. On the other hand, supply is elastic (Es > 1), indicating a strong producer response to price changes. These findings are essential for price-setting strategies, production increase planning, and managerial decision-making in maintaining the stability of local lemon supply and prices in the domestic market.
