This article discusses the principles of democracy in the 1945 Constitution of Indonesia as the foundation of the country's governance system. Democracy, emphasizing popular sovereignty, freedom, equality, and public participation, is enshrined in various articles of the Constitution, such as Article 1(2), Article 22E, and Article 28. This article analyzes how these principles are implemented in practice through mechanisms such as elections, public participation, and freedom of expression. However, the implementation of democracy in Indonesia faces various challenges, including money politics, identity politicization, social inequality, and weak law enforcement. Using a descriptive-analytical approach to secondary data, the article finds that while democracy has a solid constitutional foundation, these challenges hinder its quality. The article recommends regulatory strengthening, enhanced political education, and eradication of corruption practices to support a more inclusive and representative democracy.

This study aims to analyze the concept of ittihadul dewan in ijab qabul according to the Syafi'i and Hanafi schools, and its impact on technological progress. The marriage contract is based on the element of mutual consent, which is manifested through ijab qabul as the main requirement for the validity of the contract. This study uses a library research method with data collection techniques based on literature reviews. The results of the study indicate that according to scholars of the Syafi'i school, a marriage contract carried out via telephone or other communication media is invalid because it does not meet the requirements of ittihadul dewan which requires physical presence in one place. On the other hand, scholars of the Hanafi school consider such a contract valid, because they interpret ittihadul dewan based on the continuity of time, even though the parties to the contract are in different places.

The practice of vote-buying and money politics in elections is a common issue found in the democratic process, which contradicts the principles of Islamic law. Offering money or basic necessities to the public with the intention of influencing votes is considered bribery. Transactions between legislative candidates and voters in exchange for certain rewards raise serious ethical and legal concerns from an Islamic perspective. In Islamic law, transactions that involve uncertainty (gharar), manipulation, and dishonesty are not permissible because they go against the principles of justice, transparency, and integrity outlined in Sharia. Vote-buying is regarded as an act that corrupts trust (amanah), as candidates involved fail to fulfill the rights and trust granted by the voters. This practice also creates social injustice, as it can unfairly affect election results and harm the interests of the broader society. Therefore, from the perspective of Islamic law, vote-buying is not only considered haram but also violates the fundamental principles of muamalah, which demand fairness and honesty in every transaction.

Leadership based on the values of Islamic culture and local culture is a leadership concept that integrates universal values from Islamic teachings with local wisdom present in society. In this context, leadership emphasizes not only managerial skills but also moral aspects, ethics, and social responsibility aligned with religious teachings and local customs. This article aims to explore the concept and implementation of leadership based on Islamic and local cultural values, as well as the challenges faced in its application. Leadership in Islam stresses the principles of justice, wisdom, and simplicity, which are reflected in the behavior of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions, while local culture provides a context that strengthens social relations and solidarity within the community. Through a literature study, it is found that the application of leadership based on these cultural values can enhance interpersonal relationships, strengthen moral integrity, and create a harmonious work environment in various organizations, both in education and government sectors. However, effective implementation requires a deep understanding of the balance between religious teachings and local wisdom in the changing social context. Therefore, it is essential to adapt these leadership principles according to the dynamics of society without disregarding the core values inherent in both cultures.
