The extruder-type floating pellet machine is a form of appropriate technology that works by using a screw system to push the raw material while applying pressure to form dense pellets. The main source of raw material for making these pellets comes from trash fish, which are small fish caught by fishermen that are unfit for consumption and have low economic value. Trash fish are relatively cheap because they are classified as non-economical, but they have great potential for use as fish feed. Their distinctive strong aroma can stimulate fish appetite, while their relatively high protein content makes them an ideal source of nutrition. Before use, the trash fish are first dried and then ground using a flour machine to achieve a fine texture. The floured material is then mixed and the moisture content is adjusted to around 42%, so that the extrusion process can run optimally when using the extruder-type pellet machine. The material formulation consists of 70% trash fish meal, 15% corn meal, and 15% wheat flour. The resulting pellets are then tested in a feed laboratory and show protein levels ranging from 30-40%, depending on the quality of the trash fish raw material used. This community service activity involves fish farmer groups in the Beji area, East Ungaran District, which is expected to increase fish farmer insight on how to make floating pellets using an extruder type pellet printing machine.

Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a severe inflammatory form of psoriasis characterized by widespread sterile pustular eruptions. Pro-inflammatory mediators released during chronic inflammation may contribute to comorbidities, including type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). A 65-year-old woman presented with pustular eruptions over almost the entire body for seven days, accompanied by burning sensation and pruritus. Some pustules coalesced forming “lakes of pus,” while others appeared as erythematous plaques with coarse white scales. The patient had a history of T2DM. Based on clinical findings, the patient was diagnosed with GPP. She was hospitalized for seven days and followed up weekly until week 10. Inflammatory mediators such as Th-1, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-7, IL-8, IL-17, and IL-23 in psoriasis may inhibit insulin receptor signaling and glucose uptake, leading to insulin resistance and increased blood glucose levels. The duration of treatment until remission in psoriasis patients with T2DM tends to be longer than in non-diabetic patients. In patients with comorbidities, low-dose methotrexate (5–7.5 mg/week) was administered. The coexistence of GPP and T2DM may lead to more severe exacerbations, prolonged treatment duration, and reduced quality of life, posing challenges in management.

Nosocomial infections, also known as Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs), are infections acquired by patients during their stay in healthcare facilities. These infections remain a serious problem because they can increase morbidity and mortality rates, prolong the length of hospital stay, and raise healthcare costs. One classical yet highly relevant approach to preventing nosocomial infections is Florence Nightingale’s Environmental Theory. This theory emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean environment, adequate ventilation, proper lighting, effective sanitation, and good personal hygiene to support patient recovery and reduce infection risks. Nightingale believed that environmental factors play a crucial role in improving patient health outcomes and preventing disease transmission. In modern nursing practice, the principles of Nightingale’s theory are still widely applied through infection prevention and control programs, environmental cleanliness standards, and patient-centered care. Therefore, understanding and implementing environmental management in healthcare settings remain essential strategies to reduce nosocomial infection rates and improve the overall quality of healthcare services.

This study analyzes the construction of criminal liability in the crime of handling stolen goods, focusing on situations where the perpetrator purchases or receives goods without knowing they are the result of a crime, especially when the economic value is relatively small, i.e., below Rp5,000,000. This normative study uses a legislative approach by examining Article 591 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP), as well as a conceptual approach to the theory of fault (schuld) and the principle of proportionality. The study's findings show that in transactions involving low-value goods, proving the subjective element of "knowing or should have known" becomes highly problematic because the element of intent (dolus) is often not met without objective suspicious indications. The concept of price fairness plays a key role as the primary indicator of normal transactions and weakens the assumption that the perpetrator should suspect the illegal origin of the goods. This study recommends that law enforcement consider using non-criminal mechanisms, such as restitution or mediation, to achieve substantive justice and avoid excessive criminalization.

The family is the smallest unit in society, within which rights and obligations exist as in social life in general. In fulfilling individual needs and interests, conflicts often arise, including disputes over inheritance distribution. Inheritance refers to the property left behind by a deceased person, which must be distributed to entitled heirs in accordance with Islamic law or customary law applicable within the community. Problems frequently emerge regarding the position of substitute heirs, particularly nephews, within the Islamic inheritance system. This study entitled “Various Aspects of Family Law in Indonesia: The Problematics of the Position of Nephews as Substitute Heirs in Islamic Law” aims to examine the status of substitute heirs in inheritance distribution and to identify the conditions under which substitute heirs are recognized in Islamic law. The research employs a normative method with a library-based approach, analyzing classical fiqh literature and scholarly opinions. The data consist of primary and secondary sources collected through document study. The findings indicate that a substitute heir is recognized when the primary heir dies after the testator but before the inheritance has been distributed, allowing the substitute heir to receive the share in accordance with Islamic legal provisions.

Dynamics of social interaction within the alleyways of urban neighborhoods, which serve as unique social spaces amid the ongoing processes of modernization. Conducted in the alleyways of Makassar City, this research employs an ethnographic approach through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and field note documentation. The findings reveal that alleyways function not only as physical pathways but also as vibrant social arenas where communal activities—such as neighborhood gatherings, mutual aid, and small-scale household economies—take place. Modernization introduces significant changes to these patterns of interaction. On one hand, infrastructural development, technological penetration, and increased mobility foster new forms of interaction that are more practical and individualistic. On the other hand, core values of solidarity, including mutual support and close neighborly relations, continue to persist through community-based initiatives, local empowerment programs, and informal shared activities. The study concludes that alleyways represent hybrid social spaces where tradition and modernity intersect, demonstrating residents’ efforts to maintain social cohesion despite the pressures of social change. These findings are expected to contribute to policy development and inform local authorities in designing culturally sensitive alleyway development programs.

Accera Kalompoang is a royal ceremonial tradition held at Balla Lompoa, Gowa, South Sulawesi, as a form of respect toward the sacred royal heirlooms (kalompoang) of the Kingdom of Gowa. The ritual reflects historical memory, political legitimacy, and spiritual beliefs inherited from the Gowa kingdom era and preserved by the local community. This study aims to analyze the historical background, ritual procession, symbolic meanings, socio-religious functions, and the dynamics of preservation of the Accera Kalompoang tradition. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review and analysis of previous ethnographic studies and cultural documentation. The findings show that Accera Kalompoang functions not only as a ceremonial cleansing of royal heirlooms but also as a medium of collective identity, cultural continuity, and social integration between traditional authorities and society. Despite modernization and changing social structures, the tradition continues to be maintained as a symbol of historical legitimacy and cultural pride of the Gowa people. Therefore, Accera Kalompoang represents a living heritage that adapts to contemporary contexts while preserving the values of the Gowa Kingdom’s cultural legacy.
