The study focuses on addressing fatigue among healthcare workers in Emergency Room (ER), vital in delivering health services but prone to worker fatigue. Using objective measures like cardiovascular load (%CVL) and Bourdon Wiersma test, it evaluates physical and mental fatigue. Leveraging the System Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety 2.0 (SEIPS 2.0) model, it comprehensively analyzes factors affecting fatigue. Data collection includes surveys and statistical analysis through Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results show all workers experience fatigue, with physical fatigue affected by age and gender, and mental fatigue influenced by workload. The outer model analysis confirms convergent and discriminant validity, and reliability of the constructs. The inner model analysis reveals the work system significantly affects fatigue, while the process does not. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing fatigue to improve worker well-being and enhance patient care in ER, providing actionable insights for healthcare organizations.

In educational research, identifying variables and determining data sources are essential components in designing a systematic and accurate study. Research variables refer to the elements that are observed and measured within a study. These variables can include student achievement, motivation, teaching strategies, or learning environment conditions. Generally, variables are categorized as independent, dependent, control, or moderator variables. The independent variable is the influencing factor, while the dependent variable is the outcome. Control variables are held constant to avoid interference, and moderator variables affect the strength or direction of the relationship. The process of identifying variables begins with formulating the research problem and objectives. By reviewing theoretical frameworks and previous studies, researchers can focus their investigation on measurable aspects. For instance, in a study about the effectiveness of online learning on student performance, the independent variable is online learning, while the dependent variable is student achievement. Beyond identifying variables, researchers must also determine the appropriate types of data sources. Data sources are generally divided into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary data are collected directly from research subjects, such as through interviews, observations, or questionnaires. Secondary data, on the other hand, are obtained from existing sources like documents, books, journals, or official reports. The choice of data source must align with the research approach—quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. In quantitative research, primary data such as test scores or survey responses are used to measure variables numerically. In qualitative research, in-depth interviews and observations are commonly used to explore meanings and context. Using both types of data in combination can enhance data validity through triangulation. Ultimately, researchers must ensure the validity and reliability of their data, while also maintaining ethical standards in data collection and reporting. By understanding how to identify variables and select appropriate data sources, educational research can yield credible findings that contribute meaningfully to educational theory and practice.

Abstrak:
The implementation of e-government has become a key strategy for enhancing public trust in government institutions, particularly in ASEAN countries with varying levels of digital transformation. However, the extent to which e-government adoption influences public trust remains unclear due to disparities in digital infrastructure, public engagement, and policy frameworks. This study examines the relationship between e-government implementation and public trust in ASEAN, identifying key influencing factors. This research employs a quantitative approach using panel data analysis of e-government indices and public trust levels from 2015 to 2023. The dataset includes ten ASEAN countries, covering variables such as the E-Government Development Index (EGDI), digital participation rates, and GDP per capita. The results indicate a significant positive correlation (r = 0.78, p < 0.01) between e-government adoption and public trust, with countries having higher digital participation rates (above 60%) experiencing greater trust improvements. Furthermore, transparency and service reliability (? = 0.64) are more influential than economic factors such as GDP per capita (? = 0.32) in shaping public trust. These findings highlight the crucial role of digital service quality and citizen engagement in fostering public trust beyond economic growth. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the need to strengthen digital infrastructure and public participation in e-government initiatives. Future research should explore the socio-political aspects of e-government adoption to provide a deeper understanding of its long-term impact on governance.

Abstrak:
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) plays a crucial role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 by promoting the acquisition of understanding, knowledge, and skills. This study aims to assess students’ Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) competencies and examine the correlation between ESD competency and students’ environmental empathy in Disaster and Environmental Knowledge at Universitas Syiah Kuala. This study employed a correlation research method with quantitative and qualitative approaches using random sampling techniques. The random sampling method was used to select 339 participants with a 95% confidence level. Data were collected using an ESD competency test, an environmental empathy questionnaire, and interviews. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique. The analysis results show that the average score for students’ systems thinking competency was 73.67% (good category), and students’ critical thinking competence was 71.64% (adequate category). Statistical analysis shows a significant positive correlation between ESD competency and environmental empathy (r = 0.301), indicating that ESD competency explains 31.1% of the variance in environmental empathy. Therefore, it can be concluded that ESD competency is positively related to environmental empathy, though with a low level of correlation. This study provides valuable insights for universities and stakeholders in designing more effective ESD programs to promote sustainable development, especially goals 4 (quality education) and 13 (climate action).
