Teacher professionalism is a key factor in improving the quality of education, especially in the context of rapid changes that demand continuous competency development. Therefore, sustainable professional development for teachers has become an essential need. This article aims to examine strategies for developing teacher professionalism through reflection and the implementation of best practices in learning. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, by analyzing various sources such as scientific journals, books, and relevant articles. The results show that reflection plays an important role as a means of self-evaluation that helps teachers continuously improve the quality of learning, while best practices provide concrete examples of effective and innovative teaching practices. Reflection enables teachers to identify strengths and weaknesses in their instructional processes, thereby encouraging continuous improvement and adaptive teaching strategies. Meanwhile, best practices serve as a reference for implementing evidence-based and student-centered learning approaches that can enhance classroom engagement and learning outcomes. The integration of reflection and best practices is proven to strengthen teachers' competencies holistically by combining critical self-assessment with proven pedagogical strategies. This synergy also supports collaborative learning among educators and encourages the sharing of effective teaching experiences. Thus, sustainable teacher professional development can be achieved through the consistent application of these strategies, ultimately contributing to improved educational quality and more effective learning environments in schools.

Musical modality, professionalism, and work quality in everyday musical practice constitute the main analytical framework of this study. This research departs from the view that musical professions are often reduced to hobby-based activities, whereas in practice they involve work strategies, professional attitudes, and negotiation between artistic idealism and market demands. This study employs a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with two musicians in the city of Solo, Aditya Ong and Indra Permana, who represent different backgrounds, professional roles, and musical orientations. The findings indicate that modality comprising experience, musical skills, and professional networks forms the foundation of musicians’ professionalism. Professionalism is reflected not only in technical competence, but also in work ethics, responsibility, and the ability to position oneself within various musical work contexts. Work quality is not understood normatively as good or bad, but as the outcome of how musicians manage their modality and professionalism in specific working situations. This study concludes that musical practice in Solo is shaped through continuous negotiation between artistic orientation, market demands, and the pursuit of livelihood stability. Musical modality, professionalism, and work quality are interconnected in forming musicians’ strategies to sustain their musical practices amid the dynamics of the local music industry.

This study aims to analyze human resource management (HRM) based on Islamic boarding school values in strengthening educator professionalism and sustaining academic performance at MA Al-Amiriyyah Blokagung. The study focuses on the process of internalizing Islamic boarding school values in HRM policies and practices and their implications for educator professionalism and the sustainability of the institution's academic quality. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with madrasah leaders and educators, observations of institutional practices, and documentation studies of policies and human resource development programs. Data analysis was conducted thematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that Islamic boarding school values such as sincerity, service, discipline, exemplary behavior, and moral responsibility have been internalized normatively and practically in HRM policies, particularly in aspects of human resource planning, recruitment, coaching, and evaluation of educator performance. These values shape educator professionalism that is not only based on pedagogical competence, but also an ethos of devotion and moral integrity. The human resource development and coaching system contributes to maintaining work motivation and consistent academic performance among educators. However, the internalization of Islamic boarding school values still tends to be cultural and person-centered, and has not been fully institutionalized in written policies, standard procedures, and long-term strategic planning. Therefore, its sustainability remains dependent on leadership figures. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strengthening the institutionalization of Islamic boarding school value-based human resource management (HRM) through formal policies, a sustainable human resource development system, and systematic managerial governance to ensure the sustainable maintenance of educator professionalism and the institution's academic performance.

This study discusses the implementation of the Self-Directed Learning Programme by integrating Learning Outcomes (CP), Learning Objectives (TP), and Learning Objective Processes (ATP) to enhance teaching quality and teacher professionalism. Using a library research method, this study analyses relevant scientific literature to understand the relationship between the integration of the three components of the education programme and classroom teaching practices. The research findings indicate that teachers still encounter challenges in understanding and integrating CP, TP, and ATP, particularly in planning, implementing teaching strategies, and conducting authentic assessments. However, when this integration is well executed, the teaching process becomes more purposeful, flexible and responsive to students' needs. Furthermore, integrating CP–TP–ATP has been shown to strengthen teachers' professionalism by enhancing their understanding of the curriculum, their ability to design learning activities, and their capacity to conduct competency-based assessment. This study confirms that the successful implementation of the Free Education Programme depends heavily on teachers' ability to understand the curriculum's structure and to integrate these three components consistently. Therefore, training, supporting, and developing teachers' competencies is an important requirement for the effective and sustainable implementation of the Liberal Education Programme.

This study examines the interrelationship between the implementation of administrative ethics in civil service, the professionalism of State Civil Apparatus (ASN), and the quality of public service delivery at the Provincial Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of Central Kalimantan, employing a qualitative case study approach. Through in-depth interviews, structured observations, and document analysis, the research finds that integrity, transparency, and ethical accountability function not merely as moral norms but as structural foundations that reinforce ASN professionalism in performing service functions, particularly within licensing processes that demand administrative certainty and responsiveness. Empirical findings indicate that professionalism—reflected in technical competence, procedural discipline, and ethical commitment—acts as a catalyst linking ethical values to effective and adaptive public service performance. Nevertheless, the study also identifies structural and cultural impediments, including regulatory inconsistencies, fragmented coordination, and limited training opportunities, all of which hinder the internalization of ethical principles and professional practice within the bureaucracy. Theoretically, the study posits that harmonizing administrative ethics and professionalism is a prerequisite for achieving key indicators of good governance, such as responsiveness, service effectiveness, and institutional accountability. Practically, the study recommends strengthening ethics training, enhancing ASN professional capacity, and advancing managerial reforms grounded in modern governance as strategic efforts to sustainably improve public service quality.

This study aims to explain and reconstruct the notion of auditor professionalism beyond the reasoning framework found in the accountants’ code of ethics. The reconstruction is carried out by redefining auditor professionalism through the integration of moral reasoning and the values derived from QS. Al-Isra (36), as a response to the issue of fraud disclosure. The research adopts a non-technical perspective on auditor professionalism. Accordingly, the appropriate method for this study is Theoretical Triangulation, namely testing auditor professionalism from the perspective of moral reasoning and QS. Al-Isra (36). Specifically, the research begins by utilizing three sources of values: the Handbook of the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, principles of moral reasoning, and the guidance in QS. Al-Isra (36). Second, the study identifies the limitations of conventional interpretations of auditor professionalism when examined solely from ethical codes, and further analyzes how moral reasoning and QS. Al-Isra (36) enrich this perspective. Third, the concept of auditor professionalism is reconstructed in a holistic manner. Finally, the study concludes whether moral reasoning and QS. Al-Isra (36) are interrelated with the auditors’ professionalism in uncovering fraud. Ultimately, this article proposes a revised conception of auditor professionalism. By incorporating moral reasoning and QS. Al-Isra (36), auditor professionalism is envisioned as transcending rationalism and materialism. It is defined as a commitment to uphold the accountants’ code of ethics, grounded in justice and virtue, with an awareness that every action will be held accountable in the hereafter.

This study examines the synergy between morality and professionalism as foundational components in shaping ethical behavior among civil servants in Palangka Raya City. The research is motivated by persistent ethical issues within local government bureaucracy, despite ongoing reform initiatives that emphasize integrity and accountability in public service. Using a quantitative explanatory survey design, data were collected from civil servants across several regional government institutions and analyzed through multiple linear regression to determine the influence of morality and professionalism on ethical behavior. The findings indicate that both variables significantly contribute to the formation of ethical conduct, with morality demonstrating a slightly stronger influence compared to professionalism, thereby confirming theoretical concepts which argue that ethical public administration requires both personal integrity and professional competence. These results highlight the importance of strengthening institutional ethics programs through character building, competency-based professionalism, and transparent supervisory mechanisms to ensure consistency of ethical behavior across administrative practices. The study also acknowledges methodological limitations related to the exclusive use of quantitative measures, suggesting that future research may integrate qualitative approaches to capture deeper subjective meanings of morality and professionalism within public sector settings.

Pharmacist professionalism is a key component in ensuring the quality of pharmaceutical services, encompassing not only compliance with technical and scientific standards but also a deep commitment to moral and ethical principles. In the Indonesian cultural context, the concept of "medicine as a trust" (obat sebagai amanah) reflects a profound sense of responsibility, where medicine is viewed not merely as a commodity, but as a mandate that must be preserved with integrity and accountability in health care practices. This article conceptually explores the relationship between pharmacist professionalism and the moral value of trust within the framework of the Nusantara constitutional theory. This theory emphasizes the integration of legal, cultural, and moral dimensions in shaping professional conduct in Indonesia. Using a descriptive-critical approach through literature review, this study investigates how trust functions as both a legal expectation and a cultural imperative in the practice of pharmacy. The findings highlight that trust must be internalized as a core value in pharmaceutical services—manifested through ethical decision-making, transparency in drug management, and a commitment to prioritizing patient welfare. Pharmacists are not only required to uphold professional standards, but also to carry out their duties as custodians of public trust. To realize this vision, the integration of the value of trust into pharmacy education, legal regulations, and clinical practice is essential. Educational institutions, professional organizations, and regulatory bodies must work collaboratively to instill this value as part of a pharmacist’s identity. In doing so, the profession can contribute more effectively to building a health care system that is just, culturally grounded, and centered on the well-being of the people.
