This study explored how integrating YouTube video analysis into pre-writing activities can support idea generation and coherence in students’ writing. Writing is often challenging for EFL learners, especially in developing ideas and organizing them logically. To address this, the study used YouTube as a pre-writing tool that provides visual and auditory input to stimulate creativity and critical thinking. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method using a YouTube video titled “Writing Process: Pre-Writing” from Mr. Paige’s English Writing Center and open-ended questionnaires answered by 30 English Literature students. The findings showed that 70% of students agreed that watching or analyzing YouTube videos before writing helped them generate ideas more easily, while 56.7% found the activities more engaging and 53.3% reported better organization of thoughts. Additionally, 50% of participants felt more confident to start writing, and 63.3% believed that teachers should integrate video analysis into writing classes. These results indicate that YouTube-based pre-writing activities enhance idea generation, coherence, and motivation in writing. Overall, YouTube video analysis proves to be an effective digital learning strategy that combines creativity, engagement, and logical organization in the writing process.

Effective learning involves active student involvement. The PAIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable Learning) model emphasizes activeness, creativity, and a fun learning atmosphere. In this model, students are invited to be directly involved in the learning process, either through discussions, questions and answers, or group work that facilitate the development of their social and cognitive skills. This article aims to examine the application of the PAIKEM learning model in improving student learning activities through a literature review of ten scientific journals indexed by Google Scholar. The results show that PAIKEM increases participation in discussions, courage to ask questions, group collaboration, and learning motivation. In addition, this model also facilitates the development of students' critical and creative thinking skills, creating a fun and challenging learning atmosphere. The implementation of PAIKEM in learning has a positive impact on improving overall student learning outcomes. Thus, the PAIKEM learning model can be an effective alternative for teachers to create more active, meaningful learning, and oriented towards the development of student competencies as a whole.

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) must emphasize not only memorizing religious content, but also fostering advanced thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and creativity through the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) method. This study aims to describe the implementation of HOTS-oriented Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMAN 2 Banjit, focusing on implementation methods, supporting and inhibiting factors, and their influence on students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive methodology with data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study were Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. Data analysis was carried out by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMAN 2 Banjit have implemented host-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching methods. HOTS-based learning through discussion methods, advanced question and answer, and problem-based learning, but the implementation has not been evenly distributed across classes. Teachers understand the basic concepts of HOTS, but still face obstacles in preparing HOTS-based learning devices and assessment instruments. Supporting factors for implementation are the support of the principal, technological facilities, and the enthusiasm of some students. Meanwhile, emerging obstacles include a rote-oriented learning culture, unequal distribution of learning facilities, and teacher administrative burdens. The implementation of HOTS has a positive impact on improving students' critical thinking skills and argumentative skills, as well as helping them understand Islamic values more contextually.

This study focuses on how the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD) can support the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process at MIS Al-Hidayah. Using a qualitative approach, researchers explored the experiences of teachers and students through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that LKPD equipped with visual media can create a more engaging learning environment, motivate students, and facilitate their understanding of the material. Teachers design LKPD with pictures and sequential steps, enabling students to be more active and able to learn independently or in groups. Despite obstacles, such as limited time for development and incomplete school facilities, teacher creativity and collaboration with colleagues proved key to success. These findings confirm that LKPD can be an effective learning tool, not only for improving cognitive understanding but also for instilling Islamic values in students. This study also has implications for the development of PAI learning strategies in madrasah-based elementary schools. Thus, the innovative use of LKPD can become a sustainable learning model to improve the quality of Islamic education in the future.

Teachers are required to adopt a wise and thoughtful approach in teaching, since their perception of students will influence their attitudes and actions. Not all teachers assess students in the same way, and this affects the methods they apply in the classroom. To achieve optimal learning outcomes, teachers must take on new roles as facilitators, mediators, learning partners, and evaluators. This means creating a democratic and dialogical learning atmosphere between teachers and students, as well as among students themselves. One effective way is by applying the PAIKEM learning model (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable). This study aims to: (1) Describe the implementation of the PAIKEM model in Islamic Religious Education for Grade VII at Darul Ishlah Junior High School. (2) Describe the obstacles encountered in applying this model. The research uses a qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the PAIKEM model has been implemented well, through discussions, opportunities for students to express opinions, group assignments, interactive communication, motivation, use of media such as videos, and enjoyable memorization. However, challenges include limited learning media, teachers’ creativity that is not yet optimal, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and low student motivation.

Creativity is the fundamental trait a teacher has to have.  Creative teachers can be recognized by their capacity to use several approaches and modify instructional methods to fit other learning environments.  This study intends to investigate the imaginative techniques used by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to inspire students' enthusiasm in memorizing short surahs at the elementary school level, also to know the supporting factors of it.  To capture the lived experiences of participants, a qualitative research design using a phenomenological method was applied.  In-depth interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers, three students, and two parents yielded primary data.  These interviews aimed to collect ideas on the teachers' inventiveness in creating interesting memorizing exercises, their strategies for inspiring pupils, and the obstacles they face. The results show that students' motivation is much improved by the regular application of the muraja'ah (revision) technique in weekly memorization exercises.  Encouraging students' desire to memorize brief surahs was the inventiveness of PAI teachers.  The study also emphasizes, therefore, that the effectiveness of these memorization exercises at SDN Gulun 3 is significantly influenced by parental support and good rivalry among students.  These elements working together produce a synergistic environment that motivates pupils to be more dedicated and eager in learning brief surahs. Keywords: Creativity, Islamic Religious Education (PAI), Muraja’ah Method.

Today's students, often referred to as the digital generation, tend to be more interested and responsive to interactive and visual learning media. However, traditional teaching methods that tend to be monotonous are often unable to fulfil students' learning needs and interests. Therefore, innovation in learning approaches is necessary. One of the innovative solutions in learning media development is the use of graphic design applications such as Canva. With its user-friendly features, Canva allows teachers to create more dynamic and interesting teaching materials, which in turn can increase students' motivation and understanding of the values taught in Islamic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti. The development method or R&D using the ADDIE model is a learning design model that provides an organised process in the construction of teaching materials that can be used in both face-to-face and online learning. The use of learning media that suits students' needs not only increases their attention to the lesson, but also provides a comprehensive learning experience, reinforces a thorough understanding of the material, and encourages students' active involvement in the learning process. Thus, students have greater opportunities to develop their creativity and potential in a supportive learning environment. Learning media plays an important role in improving student learning outcomes by providing an engaging and efficient teaching-learning process. It allows students to understand the subject matter more easily, increases learning efficiency in accordance with the learning objectives, and improves their concentration and motivation.
