This study investigates the impact of intrinsic motivation, workload, and competence on job satisfaction, exploring its implications for employee performance, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for data analysis collected via questionnaires. The results reveal that intrinsic motivation has a positive but insignificant impact on job satisfaction and performance. Workload significantly improves job satisfaction but does not affect performance, while competence significantly enhances both job satisfaction and performance. Additionally, job satisfaction positively affects employee performance. The mediation analysis reveals that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between competence and workload on performance, but does not mediate the relationship between intrinsic motivation and performance. These findings highlight the critical roles of competence and job satisfaction in improving employee performance, suggesting that intrinsic motivation and workload may require additional factors, such as compensation and work environment, to be more effective.

The findings reveal that job satisfaction arises from a combination of internal and external factors that interact to shape employees’ overall perceptions of their work. Internal factors consist of individual attitudes, motivation, and the quality of interpersonal relationships, all of which determine how employees respond to daily tasks and workplace dynamics. External factors include leadership style, salary, work environment, and organizational support, each playing a crucial role in shaping employees’ sense of stability and fairness. The results highlight that positive work attitudes and effective communication are the most dominant contributors to employee satisfaction, strengthened by adequate compensation and supportive supervision from leaders. The study concludes that job satisfaction can be further improved through transparent communication, equitable reward systems, and consistent leadership involvement in employee development. These findings provide practical implications for management, particularly in formulating more responsive human resource strategies aimed at enhancing employee performance and organizational effectiveness.

This study aims to determine the influence of compensation, occupational safety and health, and work motivation on employee job statisfaction. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to employees of CV. Rizky Berdikari Mandiri. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, with a total of 53 respondents. The analytical tool used is descriptive (primary data) by using a questionnaire which is assisted by a likert scale and given to respondents. The analytical tool used is SPSS software version 29. The results of the study show that partially Compensation and Occupational Safety and Health (K3) have a positive and significant effect on employee job statisfaction, while Work Motivation does not have a significant effect on employee job statisfaction at the CV. Rizky Berdikari Mandiri. However, the study also found that work motivation does not have a significant effect on employee job satisfaction at CV. Rizky Berdikari Mandiri. This finding suggests that while motivation is often seen as a driving factor for employee performance, other factors, such as compensation and workplace safety, may have a more direct and immediate influence on job satisfaction in this particular context. It is possible that the intrinsic and extrinsic motivators currently in place at the company may not be as effective or prominent in comparison to compensation and safety initiatives. The study concludes that while compensation and occupational safety are significant drivers of job satisfaction, work motivation should still be addressed but perhaps with more targeted strategies to ensure that employees are adequately motivated and engaged. Further research could explore how different types of motivation—intrinsic and extrinsic—affect employee satisfaction in various organizational settings.

Human resources (HR) are a crucial component of any organization, playing a vital role in determining its development and success. One key aspect of HR management is employee performance, which reflects the quality and quantity of employee output in meeting company targets. This study focuses on PT REX Denpasar, a logistics company that experienced fluctuations in monthly revenue throughout 2023. This phenomenon indicates performance issues related to work quantity, delivery accuracy, and time efficiency. Several operational issues identified included variability in staff productivity, delays in delivery schedules, and inaccuracies in shipping data processing. To explore solutions to these challenges, the study examined the role of managerial leadership and financial incentives in improving employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study covered all 40 employees of PT REX Denpasar, using a comprehensive enumeration sampling method. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and a review of organizational records. Analysis was conducted using a structural path modeling approach to examine the relationships between variables. The results showed that managerial leadership had a significant effect on job satisfaction, as did the financial incentives provided by the company. Furthermore, leadership quality and compensation systems have been shown to have a positive correlation with improved employee performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction was found to act as a substantial mediator, strengthening the influence of leadership and compensation on performance. Thus, improving leadership quality and improving compensation mechanisms not only have a direct impact but also an indirect impact through increased job satisfaction.

The compensation system is an important element in human resource management, because it plays a direct role in influencing employee motivation, performance, and job satisfaction. In human resource management, the existence of human resources plays a vital role that must be considered by the company, including in terms of compensation. The ideal compensation system is one based on the principles of fairness and appropriateness, which can be directly felt by employees. The assessment of fairness and appropriateness can be seen from several dimensions, namely the internal dimension relating to the suitability of workload and rewards received, the external dimension considering company policies and market standards, and the individual dimension relating to the ability of compensation to meet employee living needs. Based on this, this study focuses on the compensation system implemented at the Double-Tree By Hilton Bintaro Jaya Hotel, specifically for banquet kitchen staff consisting of contract staff and daily workers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the compensation system for contract staff has been running optimally. From the internal side, the workload is considered commensurate with the rewards received. Externally, the compensation provided is competitive compared to competing companies. Furthermore, from an individual perspective, employees' living needs are met, even supported by a substantial service charge that exceeds their base salary. However, for daily workers, the compensation system is deemed suboptimal. Although their workload is equivalent to that of contract staff, their compensation is not the same, and they do not receive a service charge. Based on these findings, this study recommends optimizing the compensation system, particularly for daily workers, to ensure fairness and equity across all staff levels, thereby increasing work motivation, loyalty, and overall performance.

This study aims to determine the effect of training, compensation, and work facilities on employee performance at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Langsa City. The approach used in this research is quantitative, with a population of 156 employees. The sample determination in this study is a random sampling technique, and the calculation uses the Slovin formula with an error rate of 5% (0.05), so that the number of respondents in this study is 112 people. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression, t test for partial analysis, F test for simultaneous analysis, and the coefficient of determination test (Adjusted R²). So from the results of multiple linear regression, the equation Y = 10.491 + 0.247X₁ + 0.275X₂ + 0.255X₃ is obtained. Thus, based on the t-test results, it shows that training has a significant value (t sig.) of 0.000 < 0.05, compensation of 0.001 < 0.05, and work facilities of 0.012 < 0.05. This result indicates that training, compensation, and work facilities significantly affect employee performance at BPBD Langsa City. Furthermore, the F test results show a significant value (F sig.) of 0.000 < 0.05, which explains that training, compensation, and work facilities simultaneously significantly influence employee performance. The coefficient of determination test (Adjusted R²) produces a value of 0.336, which indicates that the variables of training, compensation, and work facilities affect employee performance by 33.6%. The remaining 66.4% is influenced by other variables not included in this study, such as occupational safety and health (OHS), work stress, work experience, competence, workload, job satisfaction, work culture, work discipline and external organisational factors.

This study aims to examine the influence of cross-cultural leadership style and reward provision on employee job satisfaction, with workload serving as an intervening variable. The research was conducted at PT X, a multinational company managed by foreign leaders who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. As organizations become increasingly global, understanding how leadership and reward systems function in multicultural environments is essential to improving workforce performance and satisfaction. This research applies a quantitative approach using survey methods, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 105 employees across various departments. The analysis was carried out using structural equation modeling (SEM) to explore both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings show that cross-cultural leadership style has a significant positive impact on workload, suggesting that cultural differences in leadership influence how employees perceive and handle their tasks. Furthermore, reward provision shows a strong and direct influence on job satisfaction, highlighting the importance of fair compensation and recognition in motivating employees.Importantly, the study also finds that workload partially mediates the relationship between leadership style and job satisfaction. This indicates that leadership practices affect job satisfaction not only directly but also through the perceived amount and nature of the work assigned. These results underscore the necessity for companies, particularly those with a multicultural workforce, to adopt inclusive leadership models and implement transparent, performance-based reward systems. By doing so, organizations can create a more supportive work environment, improve employee morale, and ultimately enhance overall productivity and satisfaction.

Employees are one of the company's assets, their position is very important in order to advance the company, so companies need to pay attention to their employees. On the other hand, employee performance itself will be determined by employee job satisfaction with the company, so paying attention to employee job satisfaction becomes important in order to improve company performance. Among the many factors that influence employee job satisfaction, inflation is one factor that has a fairly strong influence on job satisfaction. In Indonesia, cases of industrial disruption tend to remain high, one of which is caused by problems with the settlement system implemented by companies which are not in line with expectations. This situation shows that the settlement system for related components, the principles and objectives of providing compensation have not been properly understood. Compensation as a system consisting of salaries, incentives and allowances received by employees, each component according to its characteristics has principles that need to be followed. Meanwhile, the objectives of providing compensation include getting quality employees, retaining existing employees, ensuring equality, providing an imbalance that meets expected behavior, controlling costs and complying with applicable laws and regulations.
