This study aims to describe and analyse the cultivation of religious character through the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program at MTsN 1 Lima Puluh Kota. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the tahfidz programme in superior VIII grade has had a positive impact on the formation of students' religious character. The cultivation of religious character is carried out through various methods, such as exemplary teachers, habituation, advice, and punishment. Exemplary teachers, such as examples of polite behaviour and dressing according to sharia, provide good examples to students. Habituation, such as praying together before learning and praying zuhur in congregation, forms positive habits in worship. Brief advice from teachers helps students understand the importance of discipline and obedience in religion. Meanwhile, punishment, such as repeating one page of memorisation backwards, is used as an effort to correct the behaviour of students who do not comply with the rules. This study also shows that the Qur'an memorisation programme not only improves students' ability to memorise the Qur'an, but also forms a better person in worship and morals. However, there are still some obstacles in the implementation of this programme, such as students' lack of awareness of religious obligations and lack of religious attitudes. Therefore, it is recommended that the tahfidz programme continue to be improved and supported by all relevant parties to achieve the goal of forming better religious characters in students.

Following their primary education at home, children attend school where they learn to read, write, and count. Aside from that, school is a place where children can develop their minds and learn about morals and ethics. As a second learning environment after home, schools should provide students with opportunities to hone and gain knowledge for their future needs. However, the prevalence of bullying in the school environment scares some students. The method of this research uses an outreach campaign to educate elementary school students about bullying prevention. As a result of this service, bullying among elementary school students continues in the school environment. Character education consists of two words, namely education and character. The meaning of character education from an Islamic perspective is a conscious effort made by educators towards students which aims to shape the students' personalities and form morals, ethics and a sense of good culture and noble character. Character education is very important at this time because a character will show who we really are, character will determine how a person makes decisions, character determines a person's attitude, words and actions, someone who has good character, then his words and actions will also definitely be good, and all of this will become an identity that unites and personalizes itself, so that it is easy to distinguish it from other identities. The aim of character education in Islamic religious education is to form a person with noble character, because noble character is the basis of all goodness.

The first revelation in Q.S. al-'Alaq: 1-5 in rejecting ignorance, injustice, and monopoly, and emphasizing education to form intelligent individuals and Qur'anic characters. The verse inspires the formation of a progressive and civilized society. Ideal education should not only rely on empirical theories but should also integrate essential metaphysical concepts. In Arabic, educational terms such as ta'lim, tadris, and ta'dib have different but complementary meanings, highlighting aspects of teaching, formal instruction, and moral education. Islamic education combines scientific knowledge with spiritual values, forming individuals with morals and integrity. The thoughts of Ki Hajar Dewantara and K.H. Ahmad Dahlan were instrumental in shaping Indonesian national education, emphasizing character, religiosity, and modern knowledge. This integrative effort reflects an education that is inclusive, equitable, and encourages students' creativity and independence to face global challenges.
