This study aims to identify the process of making and cultivating media using tempoyak samples as a source of fermentation microorganisms. Tempoyak is a traditional fermented product made from durian (Durio zibethinus) that has long been consumed in various regions in Indonesia. This product is rich in microorganisms such as Lactobacillus spp., Leuconostoc spp., and Saccharomyces spp., which play an important role in the fermentation process, forming a distinctive flavor, and have the potential as probiotic agents. The research stages include the preparation of growth media in the form of Nutrient Agar (NA) for general microorganisms and de Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar (MRSA) for lactic acid bacteria. Tempoyak samples were inoculated aseptically into the media to avoid cross-contamination. Next, the media were incubated at a temperature of 30–37°C with an acidic pH, which is the optimum condition for the growth of lactic acid bacteria. Observations were made to assess the growth of microbial colonies on each media. The identification results showed the dominance of lactic acid microorganisms that were able to grow and develop well under the natural fermentation conditions of tempoyak. The resulting colonies were then cultured to increase the number of microorganisms, thus enabling them to be used as potential isolates in functional food fermentation. These findings confirm that tempoyak has value beyond traditional food, namely as a source of microbial biodiversity applicable to bioprocess technology and the development of probiotic food products. Utilizing local microorganisms from tempoyak can reduce dependence on imported cultures, encourage biotechnology innovation based on local biological resources, and support environmental sustainability. Integrating local wisdom with scientific research like this contributes to the preservation of culinary heritage while opening up economic opportunities through the development of value-added food products.

Tempoyak is a traditional fermented product made from durian and widely consumed in Sumatra. Tempoyak fermentation involves lactic acid bacteria (LAB), which are known to have potential as probiotics and as producers of antioxidant compounds. The tempoyak fermentation process plays an important role in increasing nutritional value and health benefits, primarily due to its ability to produce bioactive compounds such as lactic acid and antioxidants that are beneficial for the human body. This study aims to isolate lactic acid bacteria from local fermented tempoyak from Sumatra and evaluate their potential antioxidant activity. Isolation was carried out using the spread method on MRS agar media, which is specifically designed to support the growth of lactic acid bacteria. Next, the obtained isolates were analyzed based on colony morphology, Gram staining, and catalase test for initial identification of the types of bacteria present in tempoyak. After isolation, selected isolates were tested for antioxidant activity using the DPPH test, which is one method to measure the ability of a compound to neutralize free radicals. Vitamin C was used as a positive control in this test. The results showed that several LAB isolates from tempoyak had varying antioxidant activity, with some isolates showing significant potential. The detected antioxidant activity indicates that LAB isolates from tempoyak have the potential to be applied as probiotics with health benefits and as functional food ingredients that can help prevent cell damage caused by free radicals. This study provides evidence that tempoyak, besides being a traditional food, also has the potential to be further developed in the functional food and probiotic industries. These findings add insight into the potential of traditional fermented products, such as tempoyak, which provide not only culinary benefits but also health benefits.

This article examines four essential elements of scientific writing: paragraphs, citations, bibliographies, and footnotes. These four elements play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of academic writing. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the definition, function, and application of these four elements within the context of correct and effective academic writing. This study is highly relevant given the crucial role of scientific writing in education, particularly for students writing scientific papers such as theses, dissertations, and journal articles. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review, conducted from July to August 2025. In this study, the authors analyzed various academic sources consisting of national and international publications to gain a deeper understanding of these four elements. This approach enabled the authors to observe how paragraphs, citations, bibliographies, and footnotes are widely used in various types of scientific works. The results of the study indicate that each element of scientific writing plays a crucial role. Paragraphs, for example, serve to organize ideas logically, allowing readers to easily follow the flow of the argument. Citations, on the other hand, serve to strengthen the author's argument by referencing valid sources, thereby enhancing the credibility of the writing. A bibliography is crucial for demonstrating scientific honesty, as it lists the sources used in research or writing. Footnotes, on the other hand, serve as additional explanations, providing further information without disrupting the main flow of the paper. However, this study also found that students still make numerous technical errors in their citations and references. These errors include inappropriate citation formatting, unclear use of sources, and errors in the bibliography. These errors can diminish the academic quality of the paper and undermine readers' confidence in the validity of the arguments presented.

This study aims to analyze the influence of technological literacy, accounting information system maturity, and technology-based auditing on cyber risk in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. The background of this research is based on the increasing adoption of digital technology by MSMEs, particularly in the management of financial information and business operations. However, this digital transformation has not been fully matched by system readiness or human resource competency, creating the potential for significant digital threats, including cyber risks that can impact business continuity. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 90 MSME respondents who have utilized digital accounting systems in their business activities. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the latest version of SPSS software. The results show that technological literacy and accounting information system maturity have a negative and significant effect on cyber risk. This means that the higher the level of technological literacy and the more mature the accounting information system implemented, the lower the level of cyber risk faced by MSMEs. On the other hand, technology-based audits did not show a significant impact on cyber risk, indicating that the effectiveness of audits using a technology approach is still suboptimal in the context of MSMEs. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 52.3% indicates that the variation in cyber risk can be explained by the three independent variables. This finding has practical implications for MSMEs and policymakers, namely the importance of strengthening technology and information systems capacity as a cyber risk mitigation strategy. Furthermore, there is a need to improve understanding and implement technology-based audits in a more structured manner to have a more significant impact on MSME digital security.

The background of this study is based on the importance of strengthening the financial aspects of MSMEs as a foundation in facing the challenges of competition and economic uncertainty. The method used is a quantitative approach by distributing structured questionnaires to 96 MSMEs selected through a purposive sampling technique. The collected data were then analyzed using SPSS version 26 software to examine the relationships and influences between variables. The results show that financial literacy has a positive and significant influence on the financial performance of MSMEs. This means that the higher the level of understanding of MSMEs regarding financial management, the better the financial performance achieved. Similarly, the use of financial technology has also been shown to have a significant positive effect. The use of digital financial services such as mobile banking, e-wallets, and digital bookkeeping applications can help MSMEs simplify transactions, financial recording, and access to financing, which ultimately improves efficiency and business results. Meanwhile, the financial management variable shows a moderate influence on financial performance. This indicates that financial planning, recording, and control practices in some MSMEs are still suboptimal and need to be improved to contribute more significantly to business performance. Overall, these findings underscore the importance of improving financial literacy and adopting financial technology as key strategies for strengthening MSME performance. This research provides practical recommendations for MSMEs and stakeholders to enhance their financial management capacity to encourage sustainable business growth in the digital era.

Drinking water is a basic human need that must meet health requirements to be suitable for direct consumption without causing health risks. Drinkable water must be free from various contaminants, both physical, chemical, and microbiological that can harm the human body. One of the sources of drinking water that is widely used by the community is refillable drinking water (DAMIU), which is now growing due to its affordable price and ease of access. However, the water quality from DAMIU is often a concern due to potential contamination due to sanitation that does not meet standards. This study aims to analyze the sanitary conditions of the refillable drinking water depot (DAMIU) and assess the quality of drinking water based on physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters in the working area of the Punti Kayu Health Center, Palembang. A total of 15 DAMIU are the object of research that are examined through laboratory tests and direct observation of the sanitary conditions and equipment of the depot. The results showed that all DAMIU (100%) had met the general sanitation requirements, such as room cleanliness, equipment, and workers. However, microbiological testing found that 33.4% of the water samples contained E. coli and Coliform bacteria, indicating the presence of contamination. In addition, all samples (100%) did not meet the ideal drinking water pH requirements, and as many as 40% of the samples had aluminum content that exceeded the threshold set by the Indonesian Minister of Health. From these findings, it can be concluded that although the sanitary conditions of DAMIU are relatively good, the quality of the drinking water produced still requires serious attention.

In the healthcare system, hospitals have a legal responsibility to ensure the safety and rights of patients while receiving medical services. However, in certain emergency situations that are unpredictable—such as natural disasters, epidemics, social unrest, or technical disruptions beyond human control—hospitals face challenges in fulfilling their responsibilities optimally. These situations are often categorized as force majeure or circumstances of necessity. Issues arise when there is no clear and definite legal regulation regarding the extent to which hospitals can be exempted from legal responsibility in force majeure situations. This creates a legal gap that could harm both the hospital and the patients. This research aims to examine and analyze the legal gap regarding hospital responsibility in force majeure situations and provide a conceptual overview of the direction for forming ideal legal norms in the future. This research uses a normative juridical method, with a legislative and conceptual approach. The data sources consist of primary legal materials such as laws, government regulations, and technical regulations in the healthcare field; secondary legal materials such as literature, journals, and legal articles; and tertiary legal materials such as legal dictionaries. The analytical technique used is descriptive-analytical, focusing on the systematic interpretation of existing legal norms and theoretical approaches to the concepts of legal responsibility and force majeure in healthcare services. This research is expected to contribute academically and provide a foundation for the formulation of responsive and just legal policies in dealing with extraordinary situations in the healthcare sector. By addressing this legal gap, the study aims to provide a basis for future legal reforms that will protect both healthcare providers and patients in the face of unforeseen circumstances that may affect the provision of healthcare services.

Increasing police accountability and professionalism is critical in addressing abuses of authority within law enforcement institutions. These issues have become a major concern, especially when abuses undermine public trust and the integrity of law enforcement agencies. To overcome these challenges, a comprehensive approach that includes both preventive and repressive measures is necessary. Preventive efforts such as ethics education, professional training, and mental development programs are essential in cultivating a culture of integrity and professionalism within the police force. These initiatives help officers to better understand their responsibilities, adhere to ethical standards, and manage the psychological demands of their roles. On the other hand, repressive efforts, including law enforcement and the imposition of strict sanctions for violations, act as deterrents to unethical behavior. The effective enforcement of laws and policies is critical in holding officers accountable and ensuring that those who abuse their power are appropriately disciplined. Analyzing the implementation of ethics in police duties and the factors that either support or hinder both internal and external supervision is also necessary. By identifying weaknesses in the existing system, law enforcement agencies can better target areas that need reform. Furthermore, strengthening transparency within the police force and reforming the supervision system are crucial steps toward building public trust. Public participation in external supervision mechanisms is also a key factor. When citizens are actively involved in oversight, it fosters a sense of accountability and encourages police officers to act with more responsibility. In conclusion, by adopting an evaluation-based approach and pursuing reforms aimed at enhancing accountability and professionalism, police institutions can improve their effectiveness. These reforms will promote fairer, more transparent, and responsible law enforcement, ultimately leading to greater public confidence in the police and their ability to perform their duties justly.

Small-scale economic activities, such as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), play a vital role in a region's economy. MSMEs need to be protected and empowered to prevent unfair competition between businesses, especially those involving large-scale businesses. One example of an MSME with great potential is the amplang (rice crackers) manufacturing business, a typical souvenir from Balikpapan. Amplang has a distinctive taste and is attractive to tourists visiting the city, and has the potential to be further developed in the future. However, during the community service process, several problems were discovered among these MSMEs. One of the main problems is the lack of online product marketing expansion. These MSMEs still rely on traditional marketing methods, which are limited to direct sales or through local markets. However, with technological developments and high internet usage, the use of social media for product promotion can have a significant impact on increasing sales and market reach. To address this issue, market share expansion was carried out by utilizing social media, which has not previously been used by these MSMEs. Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp can be highly effective platforms for introducing amplang products to a wider market, both locally, regionally, and nationally. Furthermore, this community service program also provides business development assistance by providing training to MSMEs in social media management, engaging content creation, and appropriate digital marketing strategies. With this introduction to online marketing and mentoring, it is hoped that amplang MSMEs in Balikpapan can better develop their businesses, expand their market reach, and increase their competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market.

One of the digital marketing strategies commonly used by companies and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to introduce their products and achieve optimal profits is through the use of social media (Hidayat et al., 2022). The rapid development of information technology, particularly the internet and social media, has significantly changed consumer behavior and the way businesses operate. Digital marketing provides strategic opportunities for business actors, including lower promotional costs, increased brand awareness, and the potential to boost sales (Dwivedi et al., 2020). However, many MSMEs have not yet fully utilized digital marketing strategies through social media. The lack of digital literacy and limited understanding of effective marketing strategies remain major challenges in business development. To address these issues, a community service team from the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Majapahit, implemented a mentoring program for the MSME “DnD Donat” located in Dlanggu District, Mojokerto Regency. The objective of this program was to provide the partner with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to design and implement an effective digital marketing strategy using social media as the primary promotional channel. Through this mentoring activity, the partner received education on the fundamentals of digital marketing, how to create engaging promotional content, and how to effectively use social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp Business. The results of the program showed that the partner gained an understanding of digital marketing strategies and began to implement them in their business activities. The positive impact of the program was reflected in a noticeable increase in both sales volume and income over a specific period following the implementation of the new marketing approach. This program is expected to serve as a model for developing digital capabilities among other MSMEs and to support the broader digital transformation in the micro and small business sector in a sustainable manner.
