This study examines the contributions of Imam Abu Hasan Al-Ash'ari and Imam Abu Mansur Al-Maturidi in shaping the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) school of thought and its implications for Islamic education. Both imams are considered foundational figures in Islamic theology, and their ideas have influenced the development of the creed (aqidah), Islamic theology (ilm al-kalam), and Islamic philosophy in various Islamic educational institutions throughout history. Through a qualitative research method with a literature review approach, this study analyzes both primary and secondary sources, including classical texts and modern interpretations, to assess the relevance of their thoughts in the context of contemporary Islamic education systems. The findings indicate that the Ash‘arite and Maturidite theological frameworks, which emphasize the balance between revelation and rationality, have been instrumental in shaping curricula, teaching methodologies, and approaches to religious understanding. The concept of moderation, or wasatiyyah, in both theological schools is central to this approach, encouraging a balanced interpretation of Islamic teachings that addresses modern challenges. The study concludes that integrating the principles of Ash‘arite and Maturidite theology into contemporary educational practices offers valuable insights into fostering a more inclusive, balanced, and rational approach to Islamic learning.

Religious films are one of the most effective media for conveying Islamic values to the general public and examining relevant social and ideological dynamics. This research uses narrative analysis as part of a qualitative approach to find features, preaching messages and story elements. The main focus is how religious films help people better understand Islam by encouraging tolerance, inclusion and relevance to modern society. This study found that Indonesian religious films often depict social and spiritual conflicts that prevent Muslims from maintaining moderate values. Islam Nusantara is an Islamic concept that integrates Islamic teachings with the local wisdom of the archipelago, offering a moderate, tolerant, and contextual approach. This concept is rooted in the long history of Islamic acculturation with local culture through peaceful channels, arts, and traditions. As a model of thought, Islam Nusantara emphasises the universality of Islam applied according to the local socio-cultural context, prioritising the values of moderation (wasathiyah), interfaith tolerance, and respect for tradition. In religious praxis, Islam Nusantara includes traditions such as tahlilan, slametan, and the Prophet's maulid, which serve as a means of da'wah and strengthening social solidarity. However, challenges such as globalisation and misunderstanding of the concept require a strategic response to keep Islam Nusantara relevant. As a model of thought and practice, Islam Nusantara reflects the flexibility of Islam in dealing with modern dynamics without losing its principles of universality. With an inclusive approach, Islam Nusantara has the potential to inspire Muslim communities around the world to integrate Islamic teachings with local culture in harmony.

This study aims to examine the consumer behavior of teenagers in pagerbarang village in using ShopeePay and analyze it from the perspective of Islamic consumption ethics. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with twenty teenagers selected using the snowball sampling technique. The results indicate that consumer behavior is influenced by discounts, promotions, transaction convenience, and social pressure. Teenagers tend to make impulsive purchases driven by emotional needs and low financial literacy. From the perspective of Islamic consumption ethics, such behavior contradicts the principles of moderation (qanâ’ah) and prohibition of extravagance (israf). The relationship between Islam and democracy has been a complex and often debated topic, particularly in Muslim-majority countries. This research aims to explore the compatibility between Islamic principles and democratic values using Indonesia as a case study. As one of the largest Muslim countries in the world, Indonesia offers a unique context in integrating religious teachings with the modern democratic system. Through qualitative methods that included a Google Form-based survey and a literature review of academic articles and journals, this research found that the majority of respondents (70%) believe that democratic values are in line with Islamic teachings, such as justice, deliberation and equality. However, the research also identified a number of challenges that Indonesia faces in harmonizing the two concepts. The main challenges include differences in the interpretation of Islamic law, difficulties in balancing sharia law with secular law, and the issue of political pluralism. In addition, factors such as intolerance, radicalism and identity politics often become obstacles in creating harmony between religious and democratic values. Despite these obstacles, Indonesia has made significant progress through moderation, strengthening civil society, and successfully managing religious and cultural diversity. Local traditions such as deliberation, gotong royong and pluralism provide a strong foundation for building an inclusive democratic system. This approach is not only relevant for the Indonesian context, but can also serve as a model for other Muslim-majority countries seeking to integrate religion and democracy. This research offers a new contribution to the understanding of the dynamics of the relationship between Islam and democracy, and highlights the importance of civil society strengthening, pluralism education, and the adaptation of religious values in the context of modern democracy. With the results obtained, this research is expected to be a reference for other Muslim countries in creating harmonious and sustainable political governance.
