Oxidative stress is caused by regular smoking. If oxidative stress is higher than the level of antioxidants, there is said to be oxidative stress. SOD, CAT and GPx enzymes in the plasma help to reduce the harm caused by oxidative stress. This study aimed to discover if smoking regularly had any impact on the enzymes found in adults. A total of 120 people, with 60 chronic smokers and 60 nonsmokers, took part in the study and each group of 60 had equal numbers of men and women. All donors of blood and plasma had their levels of SOD, CAT and GPx checked using regular spectrophotometric procedures. I carried out the analysis using SPSS software version 26.0. The levels of SOD (1.82 ± 0.29 U/mL), CAT (31.5 ± 4.8 IU/mL) and GPx (3.21 ± 0.52 IU/mL) were lower in smokers compared to non-smokers. The gender levels showed the same effect on the study results as the smoking levels and did not interact with one another. Generally, regular smoking can decrease the amount of this enzyme working in plasma, so the body becomes less able to protect itself from oxidation for both men and women. It indicates that smoking leads to a health issue and advises taking actions to decrease risks for smokers.

Working from home can improve employee performance but also pose challenges for employees. Employees who work from home will avoid distractions at the office, have a better work-life balance and avoid office politics. But on the other hand, working from home can also increase stress in employees due to the increase in video conferences compared to face-to-face meetings felt by employees, so that high organizational commitment is needed so that employees can continue to face existing challenges and maintain their performance. This study aims to determine the effect of working from home on employee performance with organizational commitment as a moderating variable in Indonesia. The method used in this research is quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The total respondents in this study were 240 respondents from all over Indonesia. Noise generated by Diesel Power Plants (PLTD) is a significant environmental problem, especially in urban areas and settlements adjacent to power plant facilities. This study analyzes the noise level around the Fakfak Cotton Plant and its impact on the local community. This study uses a combination of methods, including noise level measurements using a Sound Level Meter (SLM), field observations, interviews with the community, and a SWOT analysis to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in noise mitigation. The measurement results show that the noise level generated exceeds the threshold of 55 dBA set by the Decree of the Minister of Environment Number 48 of 1996 for residential areas. This condition has a negative impact on the comfort, health, and social interaction of the community around the PLTD location, causing sleep disturbances, stress, and decreased quality of life. The SWOT analysis shows that although the PLTD has advantages in terms of sustainable operations and professional workers, the main weaknesses lie in the lack of soundproofing and the absence of regular noise evaluations. However, there is a great opportunity in the application of noise mitigation technologies, such as the installation of soundproofing, the use of acoustic walls, and planting vegetation as a sound barrier. In addition, collaboration with local governments and increasing environmental awareness can help manage noise impacts more effectively. The main threats identified include potential social conflicts with surrounding communities, negative health impacts, and changes in environmental policies that can affect PLTD operations. With the right mitigation strategies, such as the application of soundproofing technologies, improved communication with the community, and better integration of environmental policies, the environment around PLTDs can become more comfortable and conducive for the community. This study emphasizes the importance of regulatory and technology-based approaches in managing noise in urban environments, as well as the need for sustainable mitigation measures to maintain the well-being of communities around PLTDs..

This study investigates the effect of role stress and job resources on emotional exhaustion, with work-family conflict as a mediating variable among higher education personnel. Employing a quantitative research design with a causality analysis approach, data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The sample consisted of 200 educational staff at XYZ institution in Bogor Regency, including civil servants, permanent employees, and contract workers. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) technique with SmartPLS 3 software. The findings revealed that role stress has a positive and significant impact on emotional exhaustion, indicating that increased stress from role demands contributes to higher levels of emotional fatigue. Conversely, job resources were found to have no significant direct effect on emotional exhaustion. Furthermore, work-family conflict significantly mediated the relationship between role stress and emotional exhaustion, suggesting that stress from conflicting work and family demands intensifies emotional exhaustion. However, work-family conflict did not mediate the relationship between job resources and emotional exhaustion. These results emphasize the critical need for effective stress management strategies and support systems that can help reduce work-family conflict to maintain the emotional well-being of education personnel. This study contributes to understanding the psychological dynamics in the workplace and provides insight into improving employee resilience and productivity in educational institutions.
