The digital age has brought significant transformations to various sectors, including religious scholarship, where traditional structures of authority are being challenged by the rise of digital media and influencers. This study explores the implications of digital disruption in the Islamic context, focusing on how digital platforms are reshaping authority and epistemic legitimacy. In particular, the emergence of "religious digital creatives" is analyzed, highlighting how these influencers, often with little formal training but significant digital communication skills, have redefined religious authority. This shift away from traditional scholars, such as the ulama, who have been the custodians of religious knowledge, raises concerns about the authenticity and quality of religious teachings disseminated online. The study also examines the role of algorithm driven platforms, like AI-driven tafsir apps, and their impact on Islamic legal derivation and interpretation. While these platforms enhance accessibility, they also present challenges related to standardization and authenticity. By comparing traditional Islamic epistemology, which balances divine revelation, human reason, and scholarly rigor, with the decentralized authority of digital platforms, the study underscores the need for maintaining scholarly integrity and moral responsibility in the digital era. The research also highlights the importance of community trust in traditional scholarship, which is undermined by the lack of accountability in digital content. Ultimately, this study provides a framework for understanding the evolving relationship between Islamic epistemology and digital media, offering recommendations for preserving the core values of traditional scholarship while embracing the opportunities of digital innovation.

Free trade provides significant opportunities for developing countries to increase exports, expand market access, and drive economic growth. Through engagement in global markets, products and services can reach a wider range of consumers, creating the potential for increased national income. However, global economic integration also presents serious challenges, particularly in terms of the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). As national boundaries in economic activity become increasingly blurred, intellectual property—including patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyrights, and trade secrets—becomes increasingly vulnerable to infringement. Common forms of infringement include piracy, counterfeiting of branded products, and theft of technology or innovation. These practices not only harm creators or rights owners but can also hinder the development of innovation, reduce industrial competitiveness, and undermine consumer confidence. Adequate IPR protection requires a combination of strong national regulations and an effective international legal framework. Instruments such as the TRIPS (Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights) Agreement under the WTO provide global standards to which compliance must be adhered, but implementation at the national level is crucial for their success. Weak or inconsistent law enforcement can open the door to violations that harm both domestic and foreign businesses. Beyond legal aspects, effective IPR protection also impacts the investment climate. Investors tend to invest in countries that can guarantee the security of their intellectual assets. Therefore, IPR protection is not only a legal issue but also a long-term economic development strategy. Therefore, in the era of free trade, developing countries need to balance market openness with strengthening IPR protection systems to create a conducive environment for innovation, sustainable economic growth, and public welfare.

This research investigates the cultural significance of the transformation in the Ngaben ceremony, a central cremation ritual in Balinese Hindu tradition, focusing on the shift from traditional firewood-based methods to modern gas-based cremation practices. The Ngaben ceremony holds profound religious, philosophical, and social meaning, symbolizing the liberation of the soul from worldly ties and its journey to the afterlife. In recent decades, technological advancements and socio-environmental considerations have prompted many communities in Bali to adopt gas cremation systems, offering greater efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and lower operational costs. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, this study draws on in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to explore how this transition affects cultural meaning, community values, and religious interpretations. The research compares the symbolic elements embedded in traditional and modern methods, examining how changes in materials, process duration, and ceremonial aesthetics influence the perceived authenticity and spiritual significance of the ritual. Findings reveal that while some community members view the adoption of gas cremation as a pragmatic adaptation that aligns with contemporary needs, others express concern about the erosion of cultural heritage and the diminished role of traditional craftsmanship. Furthermore, the study highlights the adaptive strategies employed by Balinese Hindu communities to integrate modern technology while preserving essential spiritual values, such as maintaining ritual sequences, symbolic offerings, and priest-led prayers. The analysis underscores that cultural transformation within religious practices is not a simple replacement of old methods with new ones, but rather a process of negotiation between tradition and innovation. Ultimately, this research contributes to broader discussions on cultural resilience, religious continuity, and the dynamic interaction between technological change and sacred tradition in contemporary Balinese Hindu society.

This article explains the influence of intellectual performance efficiency (MVAIC) and the moderating effect of innovation capital on company performance. The research population includes manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2024. This study used a purposive sampling method, and 18 companies meet the criteria, resulting in 108 observations. The MVAIC method was chosen because it encompasses RCE and INCE, and research on this topic in Indonesia is limited. Panel data regression was used for estimation, and Sequential Residual Centering (SRC) was applied to address multicollinearity. The study findings indicate that CEE, HCE, and SCE enhance profitability, while MVAIC, CEE, SCE, and RCE improve productivity. An important finding in this study is the moderating effect of INCE. INCE provides the appropriate environment and mechanisms to enable HC to effectively generate new ideas and improve ROA. Excessive investment in INCE can disrupt the optimization of the company's internal systems, processes, and infrastructure (SC), thereby affecting profitability. Excessive innovation priorities can divert resources from developing and maintaining strong external relationships (RC), thereby hindering productivity. The results of this study contribute to the understanding of potential trade-offs in IC investment, showing that excessive INCE can hinder financial performance derived from SC and RC. The implication, companies need to balance the allocation of IC resources to achieve holistic performance, rather than focusing solely on innovation.

This research examines the legal framework governing digital employment contracts on gig economy platforms, with particular focus on the tension between operational flexibility and worker protection within the Indonesian legal context. The study employs comparative legal analysis methodology, exam-ining Indonesia's regulatory approach against international frameworks including the European Union's Platform Work Directive (2024), California's AB5 legislation, France's flexicurity model, and Spain's Rider Law. The research analyzes the employment status classification challenges faced by approximately 2.5 million Indonesian gig workers who operate within a legal gray area between traditional employment and genuine self-employment. The investigation reveals that Indonesia's current regulatory framework lacks comprehensive provisions addressing platform-mediated work relationships, creating significant legal ambiguity regarding worker rights and protections. Through comparative analysis, the study demonstrates that jurisdictions implementing presumption-based employment tests, such as California's ABC test, have successfully reduced misclassification by reversing the burden of proof onto hiring entities. The research identifies that the absence of clear classification criteria in Indonesian law undermines constitutional principles of social justice and equal protection as enshrined in Articles 27(2) and 28D(2) of the 1945 Constitution. The study concludes that Indonesia requires adaptive legislation that establishes rebuttable presumptions of employment for platform workers while maintaining appropriate flexibility for genuine entrepreneurial activities. The primary legal insight reveals that effective regulatory frameworks must in-corporate algorithmic transparency requirements, collective bargaining mechanisms, and social security provisions. The research recommends implementing a presumption-based classification system similar to the ABC test, coupled with mandatory platform engagement with elected worker representatives on tariffs and working conditions, thereby ensuring fundamental labor protections without stifling technological innovation.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of Green Intellectual Capital (GIC) in the development of waste-to-energy (WtE) technologies, which is of special relevance for the incineration plants in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Although previous studies have focused primarily on technological and infrastructural aspects, this paper investigates the contribution of intangible assets such as green human, structural, and relational capital towards the performance and sustainability of WtE systems. Adopting a mixed-method approach, the results show that Green Structural Capital has the first place in supporting operational efficiency, followed by Green Human Capital and Green Relational Capital. The statistical analysis based on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) shows that all GIC dimensions are positively related to plant performance, with institutionalized knowledge and systems as the most significant enablers of innovation. Qualitative findings also highlight constraints such as lack of training, unhandy knowledge systems, and poor public-private interaction. The findings recommend policy suggestions for promoting GIC assimilation within environmental infrastructure and provide a region-based theoretical model connecting knowledge-based resources and sustainable waste management practices. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating intellectual capital into the strategic decision-making process of waste-to-energy plants to enhance their operational effectiveness and long-term sustainability. Additionally, the research underlines that fostering a knowledge-sharing culture and enhancing collaboration between various stakeholders, including governmental bodies, private firms, and research institutions, is critical for the success of green initiatives. Training programs aimed at developing green human capital and improving public-private partnerships are essential to overcoming the current barriers to innovation in the WtE sector. This study has practical and scholarly implications in unifying the focus from just technology to the facilitating role of human and intellectual capital in green transformation, further bridging the gap between environmental sustainability and technological advancements in waste management.
