The curriculum is a fundamental component of the education system, designed to meet the evolving needs of society. In 2022, the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology introduced the Merdeka Curriculum as a strategic response to global challenges and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, identify the challenges encountered, and propose strategies to enhance its effectiveness. The research employs a literature review with a qualitative approach, underpinned by Structural Functional Theory to interpret the dynamics of curriculum implementation. The findings reveal significant disparities in teachers’ readiness to understand and implement the curriculum, influenced by factors such as training, resource availability, and institutional support. Major challenges include insufficient infrastructure, gaps in understanding, and resistance to pedagogical innovation. The study concludes that strengthening collaboration among teachers, schools, communities, and the government, combined with intensive training and infrastructure development, can optimize the curriculum’s potential in fostering globally competitive human resources. It is recommended that all stakeholders actively engage in cross-sector collaboration to ensure the sustainable implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

As a nation with a predominantly Muslim population, Indonesia bears a profound responsibility to cultivate Islamic religious education (PAI) that transcends mere knowledge transfer and serves as a means to shape the character of the younger generation. PAI is anticipated to foster a character rooted in the noble values of Islam, as well as to internalize moral and ethical principles as guiding standards in daily life. However, religious education at the school level faces considerable challenges, as conventional teaching methods tend to result in minimal student engagement. This research aims to explore the impact of revitalizing Islamic religious education at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Baitul Arqom on the character development of students. Employing a qualitative approach, this study utilizes interviews, participatory observations, and focused group discussions to gather data. The analysis reveals that the implementation of routine activities, such as dhuha prayers, exemplary teaching by educators, and active learning methods positively contributes to the enhancement of students' discipline, sense of responsibility, and social concern. This research also uncovers a positive correlation between the quality of religious education and the character development of students, thereby underscoring the necessity for innovation within the curriculum and teaching methodologies of PAI. Recommendations are put forth for the development of educational programs that are more responsive to the demands of the times and the aspirations of the younger generation, ensuring that religious education in Indonesia can cultivate individuals who are intellectually astute and morally upright.

Previous research shows that digital learning media can increase student learning motivation, facilitate interaction between teachers and students, and encourage educational innovation. Student participation in the learning process is a key factor in improving the quality of learning. In the context of PAK, student participation can be measured through their level of involvement in discussions, assignments and other activities related to the lesson material. In this paper, the method applied by the author is a qualitative descriptive method with a focus on literature study. where books and other literature are the main focus of his research. Teachers play an important role in integrating digital media in the development of the PAK curriculum. Digital media technology that can be used in developing the Christian Religious Education (PAK) curriculum includes various types of tools and platforms that can improve the quality of learning. The use of digital media in developing the PAK curriculum has shown a significant increase in student participation. Canva is a graphic design tool that allows users to design creative designs online. This is a graphic design platform that can be used to create various types of graphics for social media, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content. Guru also makes it easy to create teaching materials and create Bible text games or create Bible verse quizzes. Even though there are several weaknesses that must be taken into account, this is not a problem that cannot be resolved by presenting material interactively and responsively. Therefore, the use of information technology or digital media is very influential in improving the quality of student learning.

Science literacy skills in Indonesia are still relatively low. This study aims to analyze the need to develop learning media, especially digital storybooks, to improve the science literacy of fourth-grade elementary school students. The analysis involves literature studies, field studies with teacher interviews, and evaluating learners' science literacy abilities. The results of the analysis showed variations in learners' learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and low science literacy needs. The teacher stated that the independent curriculum is used with learning activities that have applied science literacy, but it is still limited. The science literacy ability of students was recorded to be low, with an average percentage of 43.53%. Teachers see the need for innovation through digital learning media, especially picture storybooks, to increase students' interest and understanding of science material. Based on these findings, the development of digital storybooks can be an effective solution to improve the science literacy of fourth-grade students. It is hoped that implementing this media will help strengthen science literacy skills and improve the understanding of scientific concepts in everyday life. This research contributes to the field by providing evidence-based recommendations for integrating digital storybooks into the curriculum, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of science education in primary schools.
