This study aims to analyze religious moderation as an effort to prevent radicalism within Universitas Negeri Makassar. The background of this research is rooted in the growing vulnerability of students to radical ideologies spread through digital spaces and social interactions on campus. A qualitative approach was employed using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and document studies involving lecturers, students, and internal policy makers of the university. The findings indicate that religious moderation, based on the values of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diversity, serves as an effective preventive strategy against student radicalization. The implementation of religious moderation on campus is carried out through strengthening religious literacy, integrating moderation values into the curriculum, developing extracurricular activities grounded in diversity, and fostering interdisciplinary as well as interfaith collaboration. This study concludes that religious moderation functions not only as a normative discourse but also as a practical approach to building an academic culture that is peaceful, inclusive, and resistant to radical ideologies. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for higher education institutions in formulating more systematic and sustainable radicalism prevention policies.
