This research examines the thought of Khawarij and Murji'ah in contemporary Islamic context with a focus on the relevance and application of these historical theological concepts to issues of extremism and moderation in the modern era. Through a qualitative approach with library research method, this study analyzes the doctrines of both groups and contemporary manifestations of their thinking. The results show that contemporary religious extremism phenomena have ideological connections with classical Khawarij characteristics such as takfirism, textual literalism, and tendency toward violence, while excessive political apathy reflects similarities with Murji'ah. The main challenges identified are how to balance religious commitment with tolerance in plural societies, and to overcome extreme tendencies in religious interpretation. In conclusion, a deep understanding of the historical roots of this thought can contribute to the development of a comprehensive approach to religious moderation in the modern era, with significant implications for social harmony and deradicalization efforts.

Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in fostering students’ social awareness, which includes understanding social values, developing empathy, and participating responsibly in community life. However, in practice, Social Studies learning often remains theoretical and textbook-centered, making students’ learning experiences less meaningful and disconnected from real-life contexts. To address this issue, utilizing the surrounding environment as a learning resource offers an effective alternative by bringing real social situations into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the concepts, implementation, and impact of environmental utilization on enhancing elementary students’ social awareness. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by reviewing relevant scholarly articles obtained from national and international databases such as Garuda, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect, using the keywords “environment as a learning resource in Social Studies” and “students’ social awareness.” The findings reveal that the use of the surrounding environment as a learning resource promotes students’ critical thinking, empathy, and social concern through contextual and participatory learning experiences. Moreover, teachers play a pivotal role in designing project-based and field-observation activities that strengthen the internalization of social values. Therefore, Social Studies learning that integrates environmental resources is proven to be effective in shaping students’ social character from an early age and supports the realization of holistic, active, and life-oriented education.

Child exploitation is a serious violation of human rights that involves children as victims. In Indonesia, such cases frequently occur due to severe economic pressure, lack of education, weak social supervision, and inadequate law enforcement. Children are often used as laborers or sources of income, either directly in the informal sector or through digital media. This study aims to examine how the juvenile criminal justice system in Indonesia addresses cases of child exploitation and to evaluate the effectiveness of legal protection for child victims. The research employs a normative juridical approach by referring to statutory regulations and relevant legal concepts. Data were collected from various primary legal sources, including the Child Protection Law and the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law. The findings indicate that although legal regulations are relatively clear and firm, their implementation in practice remains problematic. Coordination among institutions is not yet effective, social rehabilitation for victims is insufficient, and public awareness regarding children’s rights remains low. Law enforcement also has not fully prioritized the restorative justice approach, which emphasizes victim recovery and active community involvement. Therefore, stronger and more integrated legal policies, improved law enforcement capacity, and the empowerment of families and communities are required to ensure sustainable child protection.

This study examines in depth the concepts of maysir, gharar, and riba as three practices that are prohibited in sharia economics because they are considered to cause injustice and imbalance in economic activities. Through an analysis of the postulates of the Qur'an and Hadith, this study confirms that the prohibition of maysir is based on the element of excessive speculation that harms one of the parties, gharar is rejected because it contains ambiguity in the object and contract, while riba is prohibited because it creates an unequal addition in financial transactions. In addition, the study highlights how other religions and various modern economic systems have paid attention to the principles that are in line with the prohibition of these three concepts, especially related to business ethics, social justice, and economic risk mitigation. A cross-faith perspective shows that universal values such as honesty, transparency, and balance are essential foundations for building a sustainable economic order. By combining normative perspectives and cross-tradition comparisons, this study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the dangers of maysir, gharar, and usury, as well as the implications of the implementation of their prohibition in modern economic life. The results of the study are expected to be a reference in formulating economic practices that are fair, stable, and able to be widely applied in various communities.
