Anxiety disorders are common mental health problems among adolescents, particularly high school students who face academic demands, social pressure, and emotional changes. Family support, sleep quality, and academic stress are considered factors related to students’ anxiety levels. This study aimed to examine the relationship between family support, sleep quality, academic stress, and anxiety disorders among students of SMAN 1 Sumbawa Besar. An analytical study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 114 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Perceived Social Support–Family (PSS-Fa), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Educational Stress Scale for Adolescence (ESSA), and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42). Bivariate analysis was performed using the chi-square test, while multivariate analysis employed binary logistic regression. Bivariate results indicated significant associations between family support, sleep quality, academic stress, and anxiety disorders (p < 0.05). However, multivariate analysis revealed that only family support and sleep quality were significantly associated with anxiety disorders, while academic stress was not significant after controlling for other variables. These findings suggest that anxiety prevention efforts should prioritize strengthening family support and improving sleep quality, alongside academic stress management within the school environment.

This study examines the dominance of mother tongue use in junior high school environments and its implications for the use of Indonesian as the language of instruction. The research is grounded in the sociolinguistic reality of multilingual Indonesian society, where students tend to rely on their first language in daily communication. The objective of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the dominance of mother tongue, its impacts on students’ Indonesian language proficiency, and its pedagogical implications. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review design, analyzing relevant scholarly sources published in recent years. The findings indicate that the dominance of mother tongue is influenced by linguistic, social, and psychological factors, including family environment, peer interaction, and limited Indonesian vocabulary mastery. The study reveals dual impacts: while mother tongue use facilitates comprehension and increases students’ confidence, it also potentially hinders formal Indonesian language development and leads to language interference. The study concludes that mother tongue should not be viewed solely as a barrier but as a potential pedagogical resource. The implications suggest that educators should adopt contextual bilingual strategies to optimize Indonesian language learning in multilingual classrooms.

Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools plays an essential role in developing students’ critical thinking skills and civic attitudes as part of 21st-century competencies. However, in practice, IPS learning is still commonly teacher-centered and lacks contextual learning experiences, resulting in low student engagement and limited development of higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in IPS learning to enhance critical thinking skills and civic attitudes of grade VI students at SDN Prekbun. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers, students, school principals, and parents, as well as documentation of learning activities. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the implementation of PjBL effectively enhances students’ active participation, critical thinking skills in analyzing social issues, and civic attitudes such as responsibility, cooperation, and social awareness. Learning becomes more meaningful as students are directly involved in contextual, collaborative, and problem-based project activities. Despite these positive outcomes, several challenges were identified, including limited learning facilities, time management constraints, and variations in students’ confidence levels. This study implies that PjBL is an effective instructional model for strengthening character education and developing 21st-century skills in elementary social studies learning

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Al Miftah method with a behavioristic approach in improving the ability of students at the Raudlatul Ulum II Islamic Boarding School to read classical Islamic texts. This method provides stimuli in the form of repetitive exercises and positive reinforcement that actively motivate students to learn nahwu and sharaf rules, the main foundations in learning classical Arabic texts. The results of observations and interviews show significant changes in the students' learning behavior; from being passive to being more active, motivated, and able to understand the learning material better. The use of innovative media such as nadhom songs strengthens the memorization of Arabic language rules in a rhythmic and enjoyable way. The role of teachers as facilitators and evaluators is also very important in guiding and motivating students individually. Evaluation of students' abilities through classical Islamic texts reading tests shows that this method is effective in improving reading performance and understanding of classical Islamic texts. Some limitations, such as limited learning time and the number of certified teachers, are concerns for future development.

This article discusses strengthening civic identity through multicultural education based on local wisdom in Gorontalo Regency. The main problem raised is how local culture, although recognized as a symbol of regional identity, has not been fully translated into an inclusive and reflective pedagogical design to shape students' civic awareness. This study uses a qualitative case study design based on document analysis, with data sources in the form of indexed journal articles, regional official publications, and educational documents published in 2021–2026. The focus of the study is directed at educational practices in Limboto and Dungaliyo. The data was selected purposively based on relevance, credibility, and thematic proximity, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show three main findings: first, huyula local wisdom as the value of mutual cooperation, solidarity, and collective responsibility functions as a cultural bridge that connects social diversity with civic disposition. Second, multicultural education is more effective when local values are explicitly integrated into classroom interactions, school habituation, collaborative work, and reflective discussions. Third, challenges arise because many local values are still implicitly practiced so that they have not yet formed a reflective citizenship consciousness. This article concludes the need for a shift from symbolic recognition to structured pedagogical design through curriculum contextualization, teacher mediation, and school-to-community partnerships.

Academic stress is a condition of psychological strain that arises when academic demands are perceived to exceed an individual’s capacity to cope. In this context, university students frequently use entertainment related to public figures as an emotion-focused coping strategy, one of which is celebrity worship. This study aimed to describe the level of academic stress among students who engage in celebrity worship. A descriptive quantitative design was employed, with purposive sampling of 230 active university students aged 18–25 years. Data were collected using the Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS) and the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS). The results indicated that the respondents’ mean academic stress score was relatively high (M = 46.05; SD = 8.38), and the level of celebrity worship was also relatively high (M = 86.10; SD = 15.89). Categorization showed that most students were in the moderate academic stress category (47.0%), followed by high (30.0%) and low (23.0%). For celebrity worship, most respondents were categorized as moderate (49.6%), followed by high (29.6%) and low (20.9%). Crosstab analysis suggested an increasing proportion of high academic stress as celebrity worship levels increased; notably, the high celebrity worship category was dominated by high academic stress (67.6%). Group difference testing also revealed significant differences in academic stress by gender (p < 0.05), with female students tending to report higher stress levels. These findings indicate that celebrity worship may serve as an emotion-focused coping mechanism, yet it may also become a source of distraction when the attachment is excessive. The implications highlight the importance of fostering adaptive coping strategies and time management skills among students to manage academic stress more effectively.

The Qiroati method is an instructional approach to reading the Qur’an that emphasizes direct practice of tartil recitation in accordance with the rules of tajwid. This method is practical, systematic, and implemented gradually, meaning that learners are not allowed to proceed to the next level before achieving fluency at the current stage. One of the main challenges in learning to read and memorize the Qur’an is the limited use of structured teaching methods, as some teachers still rely primarily on personal experience and conventional reading approaches. This condition contributes to students’ lack of fluency in reading and memorizing the Qur’an, as well as decreased learning motivation due to monotonous and less effective instructional practices. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Qiroati method in improving students’ Qur’anic reading ability within the Tahfidzul Qur’an program at SMP Daruttaqwa Full Day School. The findings are expected to provide useful insights for educators and contribute to academic knowledge. This research employs a field research design with a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on describing the application of the Qiroati method in enhancing students’ reading ability in relation to Qur’an memorization. Data were collected through interviews, tests, and documentation, while data analysis involved data collection, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the Qiroati method effectively improves students’ ability to read the Qur’an in the Tahfidzul Qur’an program. This is evidenced by the improvement in students’ reading scores compared to their previous performance. In practice, the method involves teachers modeling correct recitation, followed by students reading collectively. Therefore, the Qiroati method not only enhances students’ accuracy in reading the Qur’an but also fosters a more engaging and effective learning environment.
