This research explores the low political participation of students in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the State University of Medan in conveying their aspirations to the government. Characteristics of a democratic country highlight the active involvement of its citizens in political activities, including student political participation. Student organizations are considered small entities similar to the government. The literature review involves definitions of democracy, forms of democracy, and political participation. The research method uses a quantitative and descriptive approach with data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The research findings indicate that the majority of students rarely or never convey their aspirations, driven by a lack of confidence that their aspirations will be responded to. Respondent profiles show a majority from the Geography department and with student registration numbers from the year 2022. Factors influencing low participation include lack of trust, low awareness, and lack of support from student organizations. Recommendations include increasing courage, organizational support, student awareness, interdisciplinary networks, innovation, easily accessible communication platforms, and active government engagement. This research provides in-depth insights and offers recommendations to enhance student participation in conveying political aspirations.

The research centres on the competencies of 200 randomly selected cadets, examining their proficiency in computer literacy while scrutinizing the influence of social and religious perspectives on their pursuit of an international maritime education. This investigation aligns with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) framework, emphasising the paramount importance of English communication skills for future global officers. Maritime Institute Jakarta (STIP Jakarta), renowned for producing a substantial number of qualified seamen, deck officers, and engine officers, offers applied bachelor's degrees in Nautical, Technical, and Port and Shipping Management majors. Cadets, hailing from diverse regions across Indonesia, incorporate Bahasa Indonesia and their traditional languages into their daily lives. However, the demand for international and global proficiency necessitates fluency in English communication. The research methodology adopts a qualitative approach with a focus on descriptive analysis. By investigating the social and motivational empowerment aspects, the study aims to uncover the intricate dynamics that influence the cadets' journey. Attention is given to the prayers and expectations of parents, reflecting on the cadets' plans and aspirations to become exceptional seafarers. The qualitative lens employed in this study allows for a nuanced understanding of the cadets' experiences, exploring the multifaceted dimensions of their educational journey. This research not only contributes to the understanding of computer literacy among maritime cadets but also sheds light on the socio-religious context that shapes their educational pursuits. The findings are anticipated to inform educational policies, curriculum development, and support systems tailored to the unique needs of maritime cadets in an international setting.

Abstract Economic relations in terms of trade between countries will always cause obstacles in diverse forms, one of the forms is the practice of dumping. This practice can cause losses for a country and trigger disputes between the countries concerned. In this research, the author will discuss a dispute about allegations of paper products from Indonesia that are considered to include dumping practices committed by South Korea. This research will focus on the Indonesian government's strategy in resolving the dispute and the legal process between Indonesia and South Korea. In resolving this dispute, South Korea has not completely gone through with the decisions of the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) in 2005 and 2007. Indonesia government called on the South Korean government to go through with the last decisions of the Dispute Settlement Body by using strategies such as retaliation plans also the forcing of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) imposed on all South Korean paper producers concerned. To resolve the issue, the South Korean government decided to take legal action through the Korea Trade Commission (KTC) by formally revoking the Anti-Dumping Duties. This decision marks a major success and victory for Indonesia in the world trade organization. Pada penelitian ini, penulis akan membahas sengketa tentang tuduhan produk kertas dari Indonesia yang dianggap termasuk praktik dumping yang dilakukan oleh Korea Selatan. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada bagaimana  strategi Pemerintah Indonesia dalam menyelesaikan perselisihan dan proses hukum antara Indonesia dengan Korea Selatan. Dalam penyelesaian sengketa ini, Korea Selatan belum sepenuhnya menerapkan putusan dari Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) pada tahun 2005 dan 2007. Pemerintah Indonesia meminta pemerintah Korea Selatan untuk melaksanakan keputusan akhir yang telah diputuskan Dispute Settlement Body dengan menggunakan strategi seperti rencana pembalasan dan pengenaan Bea Masuk Anti-Dumping (BMAD) bagi seluruh produsen kertas Korea Selatan yang bersangkutan. Untuk menyelesaikan isu tersebut, pemerintah Korea Selatan memutuskan mengambil tindakan hukum melalui Korea Trade Commission (KTC) dengan secara resmi mencabut Bea Masuk Anti-Dumping. Keputusan ini menandai keberhasilan dan kemenangan besar Indonesia di organisasi perdagangan dunia.

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the internal control system for the sale of merchandise at Jazzy Souvenir Store. The approach used is a qualitative descriptive method with the application of data analysis techniques using triangulation. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis results indicate that the internal control system for the sale of merchandise at Jazzy Souvenir Store is not yet optimal, as evidenced by the lack of adequate organizational structure and the existence of dual functions in the execution of tasks and responsibilities. Additionally, negligence in inventory recording by store employees leads to discrepancies between the physical inventory of merchandise and the recorded inventory in the system.

This research analyzes the role of the Karang Taruna Organization (OKT) in empowering the community of Tambakrejo Village, Krembung District.  The research method uses a literature review to detail the context and success of social empowerment programs.  Analysis of social, economic and organizational factors, as well as community participation are integrated in the literature review.  Findings highlight the importance of understanding local traditions, gender engagement, and understanding community needs.  Economic factors and resource accessibility influence participation rates.  Responsiveness to feedback, inclusive programs, and developing community networks are strategies to increase participation.  This research provides a conceptual basis for designing effective empowerment programs at the village level involving OKT.

Conducting research methods in the form of a literature review by analyzing books and scientific writings that have the same title and discussion, so that there are 3 journals taken randomly. This study found that there is a significance between Performance Audits on Public Accountability and Functional Supervision in moderating performance audits on Public Accountability.

The research was carried out using primary data, namely interviews and field observations, as well as secondary data in the form of financial reports at orphanages. Data collection was carried out via internet surfing from Google Scholar. The research data population is journals and books that focus on POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling). The results of this research state that the implementation of planning in Islamic business management must be in line with sharia values, ensuring that business objectives not only benefit the company, but also create social and economic benefits for society as a whole. The application of organizing in Islamic business management involves the creation of a fair and sustainable organizational structure. The separation of duties and responsibilities must reflect fairness, and strategic decisions must take into account their impact on society. Synergy between business interests and general welfare is the main key in the organizing process. The application of actuating in Islamic business management is the implementation of Islamic values in every company action such as work ethics, transparency and honesty and creating fair economic opportunities. The application of controlling in Islamic business management includes continuous monitoring of compliance with sharia principles. This includes ongoing evaluation of business sustainability and fair distribution of profits. Controls also ensure that the business operates in accordance with Islamic objectives and does not involve practices that are inconsistent with sharia law.
