This study aims to analyze public perceptions of SM Entertainment's reputation through netizen comments on digital platforms. Employing a qualitative approach and participatory observation method, the research examines 15 viral posts made by netizens related to the case. Findings reveal that public opinion is significantly shaped by the pseudo-environment formed on social media. Criticism of SM’s crisis management, disappointment among the fandom, and allegations of supporting bullying emerged as dominant themes. These results highlight the importance of transparency, speed, and social sensitivity in crisis communication in the digital era. Language plays a crucial role in human daily activities. In using language, people cannot avoid using various language varieties that reflect the context and social background of the speakers. Therefore, the importance of sociolinguistic studies has a major influence in recognizing language variations that emerge in communication, especially in the digital space. This study aims to examine the language variations used in comments on the Instagram account of Nur Rofiah, a public figure who is known to be active in voicing gender justice issues from an Islamic perspective. This study uses a sociolinguistic approach to identify forms of language variation and the social factors that influence them. Data were collected through documentation methods on comments on a number of Nur Rofiah's uploads that were considered representative. The results of the study show that there are various language variations, including variations based on dialect, level of formality, use of mixed language (code-mixing), and emotive varieties that reflect the identity and social background of the user. In addition, it was found that factors such as age, gender, educational background, and ideological orientation also influence language choices in digital interactions. These findings indicate that social media is not only a communication space, but also an arena for expressing people's social and ideological identities.

Manipulation of public data in criminal policy is a strategic practice that selects and frames information to cover up institutional violations, and legitimizes repressive policies that ignore the principle of justice. Unfortunately, the development of communication technology has accelerated the circulation of information, leading to the birth of repressive policies based on popularity and distorted narratives. This study uses a qualitative research method with a conceptual approach. The data collection method was collected using library research, then analyzed using qualitative methods and presented descriptively. The results of the study indicate that manipulation of public data in criminal policy shifts the orientation of policy from fact-based rationality to biased emotional responses, so that it not only widens inequality and creates selective law enforcement, but also damages institutional legitimacy and erodes public trust in the criminal justice system. A transformative mitigation strategy is needed institutionally and culturally, through the implementation of comprehensive transparency in the entire data management cycle, strict and enforceable regulations, increasing public data literacy as a bulwark against misleading narratives, and the ethical use of digital technology, in order to return policy to a basis of evidence that is fair, accountable, and relevant to the social complexity faced.

The purpose of this research is to study the phenomenon of slurred language disorder using a psycholinguistic approach. This study concentrates on the phoneme changes that occur in individuals with lisp disorder who are active on digital platforms such as YouTube and TikTok.  One definition of lisp disorder is difficulty articulating certain phonemes, especially /r/, /k/, and /s/, which impacts the ability to speak effectively.  Using observation and analysis of the utterances of five individuals with a lisp featured in the videos, this study employed a descriptive qualitative methodology for data collection. Based on the age and physical condition of each subject, the analysis results show the substitution of the phonemes /r/ into /l/, /w/, /g/, /c/, /k/ into /t/, and /s/ into /c/.  This study provides important knowledge about the phonological changes of lisp disorder and how it impacts language acquisition and public communication in the digital age.

This research aims to explore the role of social media in Indonesia's digital democracy, by highlighting the tension between its function as a tool of hegemony or a means of emancipation. The background of this study is the increasing use of social media by political actors and civil society in voicing, shaping or criticizing public narratives ahead of the 2024 elections. This study uses a critical qualitative approach with a descriptive study design, and applies the Critical Discourse Analysis method and netnographic observation of political content on three main platforms: Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram. Data was collected through literature studies, digital documentation, and observation of user interactions in digital political campaigns. The results show that the digital space is dominated by hegemonic actors such as political elites, partisan buzzers, and platform algorithms that reinforce certain narratives. However, there are also spaces of emancipation formed by digital communities and independent content creators who use social media as a means of political education and symbolic resistance. Counter-narratives that emerge tend to be temporary and are often limited by distribution and visibility controls. These findings have important implications for the development of more critical and participatory digital literacy policies. In addition, this study contributes to the enrichment of critical communication theory, by affirming the importance of viewing social media as a complex pedagogical and ideological field in contemporary democratic practice.

This study investigates the complexity of contextual meaning in political texts posted by public figures on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Grounded in Halliday and Hasan’s theory of situational context and Searle’s speech act theory, the research analyzes how political utterances function through locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts. The data, drawn from tweets during the 2024 Indonesian presidential election period, were collected using documentation and structured observation methods. The findings indicate that political texts on X are highly layered, combining explicit facts with implicit criticism, ideological stance, and persuasive strategies. Through representative, expressive, and directive speech acts, public figures construct meaning that influences public perception, evokes emotional responses, and fosters political alignment. This study contributes to the understanding of digital political discourse by highlighting how pragmatic strategies shape the interpretation of meaning in online political communication.

This study examines the effectiveness of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) in addressing the dissemination of pornographic content on Twitter/X. Using a literature review approach, it highlights UU ITE’s role in regulating digital activities by prohibiting the distribution of obscene content. Despite providing a robust legal framework, its implementation faces significant challenges, including user anonymity and limited monitoring capabilities. Data from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) reveals a substantial increase in the number of blocked pornographic content, although it represents only a fraction of the broader issue. Additionally, Twitter/X’s content moderation policies often conflict with local regulations, requiring closer collaboration between governments and digital platforms. Potential solutions include adopting artificial intelligence for automatic detection, enhancing user verification, and fostering international cooperation. This study concludes that synergy between the government, digital platforms, and the public is essential for creating a safer and more conducive digital space.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of content marketing strategies in the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia, with a focus on the effectiveness of content in enhancing audience engagement and building the image of Islamic brands. The research was conducted through a literature review of various academic sources and previous studies, as well as an analysis of the content marketing of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) on its YouTube channel as the main object. In the digital context, the types of content used include educational videos, marketing videos, and collaborations with influencers. The findings indicate that visual, educational, interactive, and authentic content has a significant impact on driving digital engagement and increasing brand awareness. Meanwhile, promotional content delivered through influencers tends to be more effective when preceded by strong brand image reinforcement, enabling consumers to develop a more positive perception of the institution. Further analysis reveals that BSI’s YouTube channel has demonstrated consistency in branding, Islamic positioning, and delivering educational messages. However, audience interaction remains limited, as reflected in the minimal responses to comments, underutilization of community features, and subscriber growth lagging behind major banks such as BCA. This situation highlights the need to optimize strategies through strengthening two-way communication, delivering serial educational content, employing more strategic calls-to-action (CTA), and integrating with the official website and other digital platforms. The study concludes that the success of content marketing in Islamic banking heavily depends on value relevance, publication consistency, and the ability to build sustainable interaction with audiences, thereby supporting increased loyalty and customer acquisition. These findings provide important contributions to designing effective and sustainable digital communication strategies that align with ethical principles and Islamic values.
