The rapid transformation of higher education driven by the advancement of digital technologies and the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of online learning platforms across universities worldwide. This study investigates the relationship between the use of online learning platforms, academic performance, and student engagement among university students. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from students actively participating in online learning environments to analyze how frequency of platform use influences academic outcomes and engagement levels. The results reveal a positive correlation between online learning engagement and academic performance, indicating that students who consistently participate in live sessions, complete assignments, and interact with peers and instructors achieve better academic results. Cognitive and behavioral engagement were found to be the most influential factors contributing to improved learning outcomes, while emotional engagement played a supportive role in maintaining motivation and persistence. Despite these benefits, several challenges were identified, including social isolation, limited face-to-face interaction, and technological barriers that hinder full participation. Comparisons with traditional learning environments highlight that online platforms provide greater flexibility and personalized learning opportunities but lack the immediacy of in-person interaction. Furthermore, differences between local and international contexts underscore the role of infrastructure and institutional readiness in ensuring equitable online learning experiences. The study concludes that effective integration of technology, instructor presence, and collaborative tools can enhance engagement and academic success in digital learning environments. Future research should explore long-term impacts, including the role of gamification and artificial intelligence in sustaining motivation and improving educational outcomes.

This research aims to develop and apply a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm to detect handwritten Roman numerals. Handwriting recognition is a classic challenge in the fields of image processing and machine learning, especially for less common characters such as Roman numerals. In this research, we use data augmentation techniques to increase the diversity and number of datasets used in model training, which is expected to increase model accuracy and generalization. The dataset used consists of 1,120 images for testing and 280 images for validation, each of which is divided into 14 classes of Roman numerals I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, L, C, D , and M. Image data was created directly using simple software, namely Paint version 6.3. This research uses the Python programming language and Google Colab as a computing platform. Model training was carried out for 300 epochs and showed significant accuracy in the 150th to 300th iteration. The results at the 300th epoch show an accuracy of 0.9607 and a loss of 0.1162. The implementation of this algorithm shows significant potential in practical applications, such as in the fields of education and historical documentation. The conclusion of this research is that data augmentation is an effective technique to improve the performance of CNN models in detecting handwritten Roman numerals.

The development of digital technology has significantly changed the work paradigm, creating a work environment that is not bound by geographical boundaries through the utilization of cloud platforms, online collaboration tools, and advanced digital communications. This transformation increases productivity and enables collaboration between employees, even if they work in different locations. However, these changes also bring new challenges related to employee well-being. One of the main issues is stress due to the blurring of working time boundaries, with employees often struggling to distinguish between work and personal time. In addition, there is an increased risk of physical injury due to the use of non-ergonomic digital devices, including injuries from improper keyboard and mouse use. To overcome these challenges, companies must implement ergonomic office equipment to support the physical and mental health of their employees.
