This study aims to increase student interest in Social Studies (IPS) through the use of varied learning media in third-grade students at SD Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. The typically boring nature of Social Studies learning can be addressed by presenting engaging media tailored to student characteristics. Varied learning media, such as educational videos, images, interactive games, and props, are expected to engage students, engage them, and enhance their understanding of the material. This study used a qualitative approach through observation and interviews to determine students' responses to the use of these media. The results showed that the use of diverse learning media increased student motivation and interest in Social Studies lessons. Students appeared more enthusiastic in discussions, asking questions, and completing assigned assignments. Thus, the use of varied media not only increased student interest but also strengthened their understanding of the material presented. This study recommends that educators at SD Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP optimize the use of varied learning media to improve the quality of Social Studies learning, thereby making the teaching and learning process more enjoyable and effective.
This study aims to determine and analyse 1). The effect of cognitive diagnostic assessment on the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency. 2). The effect of non-cognitive diagnostic assessment on the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency. 3). The simultaneous influence of cognitive diagnostic assessment and non-cognitive diagnostic assessment on the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency; and 4). To determine and analyse the dominant variables that influence the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency. This research uses a quantitative research approach. The research was conducted on eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency, with a population consisting of all eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency, comprising five classes, namely: VIII 1, VIII 2, VIII 3, VIII 4, and VIII 5, with a total of 154 students. The sampling technique used was purposive random sampling, with 10 students representing each class, resulting in a sample size of 50 students. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, and data analysis was performed using multiple regression analysis, t-test, and F-test. The results of the study are as follows: 1) Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (X1) has a positive and significant effect on the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency. 2) Non-cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (X2) has a positive and significant effect on the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto Regency. 3). Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (X1) and Non-Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (X2) together have an effect on Social Studies Learning Motivation (Y) among eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto District. 4). The most dominant variable influencing the social studies learning motivation of eighth-grade students at UPT SMPN 2 Binamu, Jeneponto District, is cognitive diagnostic assessment.
This study aims to determine the effect of contextual learning models on monopoly media on the learning outcomes of 4th grade elementary school social studies students in introducing countries in the world. The use of contextual learning models using monopoly media can improve students' social studies learning outcomes, because students gain knowledge by developing and finding their own thought patterns. Through this contextual learning approach, real activities are prioritized so that students can find concepts in learning materials and connect these concepts to students' real-world lives. The research method used is a qualitative research and development method. This research method was chosen to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products. Based on the results of the study and discussion, it can be concluded that the use of contextual learning models using monopoly media can improve students' social studies learning outcomes IV. In monopoly media, critical thinking skills are trained in recognizing various countries in the world. These results indicate that there is a difference in the effect of implementing monopoly media and simply explaining by the teacher on students' learning outcomes. The results of the study can be concluded that the use of appropriate learning media by paying attention to the material and objectives to be achieved in the learning process.
In the elementary school curriculum that combines science and social studies learning into a single unit, namely science, differentiated learning is expected to be able to increase student understanding and support the improvement of learning outcomes because it adjusts the learning process according to the needs, interests, and individual potentials of students. This article aims to examine the effectiveness of differentiated learning in social studies learning through a literature review of various studies conducted between 2020 and 2025. This study reveals that the application of differentiated learning can improve the cognitive understanding, activeness, and analytical thinking skills of students in social studies learning.
Madrasah Ibtidaiyah plays an important role in shaping the character of the younger generation, especially facing the challenges of generation Z who have grown up in the digital era. This generation has characteristics such as visual orientation, high technology involvement, and learning patterns that demand interactivity. Social studies education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is a strategic forum for instilling Islamic character values such as integrity, cooperation and social responsibility. The development of an integrated and innovative curriculum, involving a thematic approach that is relevant to the needs of the times, is needed to eliminate barriers between scientific disciplines, thereby providing holistic learning. Learning strategies based on moral values, technology and collaboration can increase the effectiveness of character education. Teachers as curriculum developers play a vital role in compiling, implementing and evaluating teaching methods that suit the needs of generation Z, whether through Student-Centered Learning, Visual-Based Learning, or Flipped Classroom approaches.This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between teachers, students, and technology in realizing social studies education that is able to create a generation that is critical, moral, and ready to face global challenges without losing its Islamic identity. With this approach, madrasahs are able to produce the nation's next generation who are superior in character and competence.
This study aims to explore the role of entrepreneurship-based social studies learning in building the independent character of 5th grade elementary school students. Using a qualitative approach, this study examines the impact of implementing entrepreneurial learning in the context of social studies on the development of students' independent attitudes, social skills, and ability to innovate. Data were obtained through literature review and content analysis of various relevant literatures, as well as observation of entrepreneurship learning practices in elementary schools. The results show that entrepreneurship-based social studies learning significantly contributes to improving students' independent character, including the ability to make decisions, manage resources, and innovate in solving problems. In addition, this learning also strengthens students' social skills, such as cooperation, communication and leadership. This research suggests that entrepreneurship-based social studies learning should be further expanded at the primary school level to support better development of students' independent character and prepare them to face future social and economic challenges.
Social attitudes are activities in relationships with other people, whether with peers, teachers, parents, or siblings. In relationships with other people, very meaningful events occur in his life that shape his personality, which helps him develop into the human being he is. As an educator, cultivating social attitudes in students is very important so that students have the attitude to build relationships with other people in everyday life. Based on this phenomenon, the researcher took research at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar as the object of research with the aim of finding out how social studies teachers' strategies are in cultivating social attitudes in students. The formulation of the problem in this research is: (1) What is the social studies teacher's strategy in determining changes in student behavior and personality at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar? (2) What is the social studies teacher's strategy in cultivating students' social attitudes at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar? (3) What are the results of the social studies teacher's strategy in fostering students' social attitudes at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar? This research uses a descriptive-qualitative approach. The research location is at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar. The data sources in this research use primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques in this research used three techniques, namely, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data that has been collected is then analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that: (1) Implementing behavioral changes at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar starts from class VII students by getting used to: first making a greeting picket schedule after coming to school in the morning, holding the habit of doing dhuha prayers in congregation for all students and teachers, carrying out community service to clean the environment every Friday in mutual cooperation, familiarizing students with literacy, carrying out homeroom clinics to minimize mistakes made by students so that they can be minimized by each homeroom teacher, and teaching students good manners to respect parents, teachers, friends, and other people. Another thing is to get used to reading the Asmaul Husna before starting learning. (2) Developing students' social attitudes at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar by holding a program: they must collect social funds every Friday as sincerely as possible to help less fortunate friends. If they have damaged shoes, they can't afford them; the school buys the shoes using these social funds; treats friends. who are sick while at school; visits friends who are sick; works together to clean the classroom once a week so that students have the social spirit to care about dirty classrooms; picking up rubbish on the floor before starting learning can foster social attitudes by having a sense of caring about the surrounding environment. (3) The results of the teacher's strategy in cultivating students' social attitudes at MTs Negeri 6 Blitar make students more able to appreciate and respect other people, make students have a religious spirit by getting used to praying dhuha in congregation every morning and reading Asmaul Husna before starting social studies learning, make students more caring with the cleanliness of the surrounding environment because of cleaning activities on Fridays, make students love reading by holding literacy, make students more organized and minimize mistakes with the homeroom clinic, and foster a high social spirit with the existence of social funds every Friday and distributing These funds are properly used to buy necessities for underprivileged students, treat friends who are sick while at school, and visit friends who are sick.
The purpose of documenting the findings is to evaluate the extent to which the use of audio-visual media can implement learners' academic performance in Social Studies subjects at the primary school level. This research has been conducted using a qualitative method complemented by a descriptive approach, relying on data obtained from a literature review. Data sources include relevant scientific articles, books and journals that support previous findings and are in line with the main topic of this study. The research shows that the use of audiovisual media has a significant impact on improving students' learning rubric in social studies subjects. Audio-visual media proved effective because it was able to encourage active student involvement through activities such as asking questions, discussing, and responding to the material presented. In this case, it was due to the efficient presentation of the video that was able to keep learners' attention and reduce the risk of boredom. Thus, this engagement contributes to their improved academic performance. The integration of audio-visual media in social studies learning in elementary schools has a major positive impact on students' academic achievement and learning motivation.
This writing aims to describe the development of the Social Studies curriculum in Indonesia. Social studies education in Indonesia did not just appear and develop, but through a long journey full of dynamics. This article reviews social studies education from a historical perspective and its development using historical research methods, which include the steps of heuristics, source criticism (external and internal), interpretation, and historiography. The development of the social studies curriculum in Indonesia has adopted the concepts of social studies education in several major countries, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, which became a reference because of the similarity of the conditions of multicultural society and the background of the country's unstable situation at that time. Nevertheless, the development of social studies education in Indonesia is adapted to the conditions of society and government in the country, which has an impact on the preparation of curriculum and implementation of learning in schools. Along with technological advances, social studies education also continues to grow by utilizing a variety of learning resources and media. In addition, the development of social studies learning materials also involves the active participation of the wider community.
This research is motivated by problems experienced by students, such as continuous problems, the lack of interaction between friends can actually affect the student learning process, especially for class VII. Students are more limited or less active because they lack self-confidence and have difficulty communicating. Therefore, by implementing the contextual teaching and learning model, it is hoped that students can grow their self-confidence so that they can increase social interaction between students and create good learning activities. The research objectives are, to find out the step, supporting and inhibiting factors, impact of implementing the Contextual Teaching And Learning model in social studies learning in increasing the social interaction of class VII students at MTsN 3 Tulungagung. This research uses a qualitative approach, descriptive research type. Descriptive research is presented in the form of words found from observations which are then analyzed, interpreted and conclusions drawn. The population of this study was class VII MTsN 3 Tulungagung and school residents. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research are drawn to conclusions which show that the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model can increase social interaction between students, so that students tend to be more active and learning activities can run well.
The definition of Social Sciences (IPS) in Indonesia refers to the integrative study of human life in various dimensions of space and time and its activities. In the education sector, social studies refers to knowledge about the relationship between humans and their social environment. Character education, on the other hand, refers to a system of instilling character values that includes the components of knowledge, awareness, and action to apply these values in various contexts. The importance of character education in developing responsible, caring and empathetic individuals is emphasized in the culture and social environment concerned. The importance of integrated social studies includes several in-depth aspects, including a holistic understanding of the relationship between social science disciplines, development of critical and analytical thinking skills, development of social and emotional skills, and a broader understanding of human values, justice and democracy. Through various learning methods such as introduction to material, project-based learning, group discussions, case studies, simulations, and field visits, students can get to know integrated social studies well. After studying integrated social studies, students can show improvements in characteristics such as courtesy and responsibility. Through integrated social studies learning, students learn to respect cultural differences and be tolerant towards other people.
Syntax is a branch of linguistics that studies grammar in an utterance. One of the objects of study of syntax is phrases. Phrases are grammatical units consisting of two or more words that do not exceed the function limit. This study aims to use phrases that focus on noun phrases, verb phrases, and adjective phrases in narrative texts in social studies learning books for class VII of the independent curriculum. This study used a descriptive qualitative data analysis method by searching, finding, determining, and analyzing the phrases in the narrative text of social studies learning books for class VIII of the independence curriculum. In analyzing the data using the approach of theoretical study of syntax and using the study of documents as a method of data collection. As for the results obtained from this analysis in the form of finding seven noun phrases as the most used phrases in the text, three verb phrases, and five adjective phrases that are appropriate to their respective uses. It is hoped that this research will help many people, especially those pursuing education, better understand the different types of verb phrases, noun phrases, and adjective phrases in narrative text sentences.
