Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture requires an efficient and low-cost feeding strategy that can support fry growth and survival. This study aimed to analyze the effects of three types of natural feed, namely silk worms, earthworms, and snails, on absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, and survival of Nile tilapia fry. The study was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Faculty of Science and Computer Science, Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo, from January 31 to March 2, 2026. An experimental method was applied using a Completely Randomized Design consisting of three treatments and three replications. A total of 45 Nile tilapia fry were reared in 9 plastic containers filled with 10 L of water, with 5 fish in each container. Growth and survival data were analyzed using ANOVA at the 5% significance level, while water quality was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the type of natural feed had no significant effect on absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, and survival. Descriptively, silk worms produced the highest length and weight growth, with values of 2.99 cm and 6.37 g, respectively. Snails produced the highest survival rate of 86.66%. Water quality remained stable, with temperature ranging from 26.3 to 26.8°C, pH from 7.6 to 7.9, and dissolved oxygen from 5.2 to 5.6 mg/L. These findings indicate that silk worms are potential natural feed for improving growth, while snails support the survival of Nile tilapia fry.

This study aims to describe the transformation of Biology learning through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to strengthen 21st-century skills at a State Senior High School in Waingapu, East Sumba. Amidst the limitations of physical laboratory facilities, AI emerges as an innovative solution to visualize abstract biological concepts. This research employs a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques involving observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the utilization of AI platforms, such as Generative AI and virtual simulations, significantly shifts the student learning paradigm from rote memorization to active inquiry. The integration of AI has proven effective in reinforcing the 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication). Students have become more critical in validating information, creative in designing science projects, and more collaborative in classroom discussions. Furthermore, AI assists teachers in streamlining instructional time, allowing for deeper conceptual exploration. Despite challenges regarding local internet stability, this transformation represents a strategic step in narrowing the educational quality gap between peripheral and urban areas. In conclusion, the implementation of AI, coupled with adaptive teacher guidance, is highly effective in developing competitive students in the digital era.

Clean water quality is an important factor in supporting public health. In Kaliwader Village, Bener District, Purworejo Regency, drilled well water is used as the main source of clean water, however, based on initial testing, discrepancies were still found in several water quality parameters, particularly turbidity. The Community Service Lecture (KPM) activity of the Al-Qur'an Science University (UNSIQ) aims to improve the quality of drilled well water through the implementation of a water filtration system combined with a venturi aerator and providing education to the community about clean water management. The method used is a descriptive method with an observational approach, including water sampling, laboratory testing at the Regional Health Laboratory UPT, and the implementation of a Malang sand-based filtration unit with venturi aeration. The test results showed that the water turbidity level before treatment reached 8 NTU, exceeding the established quality standards. After the implementation of the filtration system and venturi aerator, the physical quality of the water improved, marked by a decrease in turbidity and an increase in water clarity. Chemical and microbiological parameters were generally within safe limits according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. This activity demonstrated that the application of simple technology by UNSIQ KPM students can play an effective role in improving the quality of drilled well water and supporting the provision of more adequate clean water for the people of Kaliwader Village.

This study aims to describe and analyze the strengthening of eight basic teaching skills in prospective Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at the University of Qur'anic Sciences (UNSIQ) through the Micro Teaching course. The eight skills include questioning, reinforcement, variation, explaining, opening and closing lessons, guiding small group discussions, class management, and small group/individual teaching. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected over one month through participatory observation in the Micro Teaching Laboratory, documentation, and in-depth interviews with 12 informants consisting of 2 lecturers and 10 PAI students. The results showed that Micro Teaching learning significantly increased students' self-confidence and pedagogical competence. Specific findings indicate the integration of Qur'anic values in teaching practices, such as the use of kalimah thayyibah as a form of verbal reinforcement skills. Nevertheless, classroom management remains the most challenging aspect for students. This study concludes that intensive simulation and continuous feedback are the main keys to producing professional PAI teacher candidates with Qur'anic character.

Modern society faces multidimensional complexities, ranging from spiritual crises and technological disruption to social inequality. Muslims, with their theological and intellectual capital, are often perceived as suboptimal in responding to these challenges contextually and applicatively. This article aims to analyze the fundamental problems faced by Muslims in formulating answers to the problems of modern society and to explore the strategic role of Islamic higher education institutions, specifically the Muhammadiyah University of Malaysia (UMAM), in bridging this gap. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at UMAM. Data was collected through literature study, observation, and structured interviews with academics and policymakers at UMAM. The findings indicate that the main problems lie in: (1) the dichotomy between naqli and aqli sciences, (2) a static approach to religious texts, and (3) a lack of integrative and innovative solution models. UMAM strives to address these issues through three main strategies: integration of knowledge in the curriculum, problem-based research, and empowering community engagement. This article concludes that UMAM has the potential to become a model social laboratory of Islam that combines the Muhammadiyah renewal ethos with the Malaysian socio-cultural context to produce relevant, humanist, and rahmatan lil 'alamin solutions.

This study aims to determine the optimal pectinase enzyme concentration and hydrolysis duration for the most preferred physical, chemical, and organoleptic characteristics of kweni mango syrup. The research was conducted from October 2024 to August 2025 at the Integrated Laboratory and Basic Science Laboratory of the Agricultural Institute (INTAN) Yogyakarta using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a factorial pattern consisting of two factors and two replications. The first factor was the pectinase enzyme concentration (0%, 0.25%, 0.50%, and 0.75%), and the second factor was the hydrolysis duration (0, 30, and 60 minutes). Observation parameters included yield, vitamin C, viscosity, pH, total soluble solids, and organoleptic attributes. Data were analyzed using ANOVA at a 5% significance level followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed significant effects of both pectinase enzyme concentration and hydrolysis duration on yield, viscosity, total soluble solids, and organoleptic characteristics (color, taste, aroma, and overall acceptability), while no significant effects were observed on vitamin C content and pH. The best formulation was obtained using 0.50% pectinase enzyme concentration with a hydrolysis duration of 30 minutes.

Workshop on strengthening branding, storytelling, and social media-based promotion has been carried out to help female culinary entrepreneurs in the Sahabat Genggam Teman Indonesia (GTI) Community in Bekasi City enhance their digital skills. The training took place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the computer laboratory of Universitas Nusa Mandiri Jatiwaringin, Central Jakarta, as part of the 2025 DPPM Grant Program from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). This community service activity aimed to improve the digital skills of female culinary entrepreneurs in the Sahabat GTI Community in Bekasi City through training in branding, storytelling, and social media-based promotion. The challenges faced were low understanding of consistent branding, effective storytelling techniques, and appropriate digital promotion. The methods used in this activity included practical training, simulations, and interactive discussions focused on improving participants' skills in creating logo designs, crafting product narratives, and utilizing social media as an effective promotional tool. The results of the training showed significant improvement, with an average increase of 85%, especially in branding and the use of social media for promotion. This training successfully provided a positive impact in enhancing participants' digital competence, which in turn can improve the competitiveness of their culinary businesses in the digital market. Empowering female MSME entrepreneurs through this training opens opportunities for the development of more professional and sustainable local culinary businesses in the global market.

Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Transformasi Kesejahteraan 2025 Lembaga Pengembangan Kinerja Dosen

This community service activity aims to introduce the use of the PhET virtual laboratory and to identify students’ responses to the PhET-based virtual laboratory training in empowering students at SMA Negeri 1 Unaaha. The program also seeks to address the issue of limited science practicum facilities in the partner school. The study employed a descriptive quantitative design involving a single group of 23 participants from grades X to XII in the science stream. Participants took part in several sessions, including orientation, demonstration, and exploration of the Build an Atom and Circuit Construction Kit: DC simulations. Research data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 30 items covering six main indicators: conceptual understanding, motivation, activeness, interest, ability to operate PhET, and learning satisfaction. All questionnaire results were converted into percentages for each indicator. The analysis showed an average response rate of 86.67%, with details as follows: interest 92%, activeness 90%, motivation 88%, satisfaction 89%, operational ability 83%, and conceptual understanding 78%. These findings indicate a very positive acceptance and significant reinforcement in the affective, participatory, and technical skill aspects of the students.

This study investigates the effect of added sugar on the stability of soap bubbles through a hands-on science activity titled “Magic Bubbles” conducted with third-grade students at SDN 1 Karangrejo. The activity was implemented collaboratively, where students observed, experimented, and drew conclusions together under teacher guidance, without the use of individual worksheets. Using a participatory observation method, the research described students’ engagement, reactions, and learning behavior during the process. Findings revealed that soap bubbles containing added sugar demonstrated greater stability and a longer lifespan compared to those without sugar. Students showed high levels of enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation throughout the experiment. The activity not only fostered engagement but also enhanced students’ gross motor coordination, observation skills, and early scientific reasoning. Furthermore, it encouraged cooperative learning and communication among peers. The results highlight the effectiveness of simple laboratory-based learning as a medium to introduce scientific inquiry at the elementary level. The “Magic Bubbles” activity aligns with the inquiry-based learning approach in science education, emphasizing direct experience, experimentation, and concept discovery through observation and guided reflection. This study demonstrates that contextual, play-based science activities can meaningfully improve motivation and conceptual understanding among young learners.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of bee pollen addition on the chemical composition of cow’s milk–based jelly candy. Bee pollen is a natural product rich in proteins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, which may enhance the nutritional value of food products. The research was conducted at the Dairy Technology Laboratory, Department of Animal Product Technology, Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya, from June to August 2025. The research method used was a laboratory experiment using Complete Randomized Design (CRD) ANOVA with 4 treatments and 4 replications. If different results were obtaindes between treatments, Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was continued. Four treatments were applied: T0 (control, without bee pollen), T1 (6%), T2 (12%), and T3 (19%). The results demonstrated that bee pollen supplementation had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on the protein content (Kjeldahl method), moisture content (Gravimetri method), ash content (Dry Ashing method), and carbohydrate content (By Different method), but showed no significant effect (P>0.05) on fat content (Soxhlet method). Protein content increased from 16.83% to 19.30%, moisture content increased from 29.56% to 34.30%, while ash content exhibited a fluctuating trend. Conversely, carbohydrate content decreased from 52.90% to 45.19%. Overall, the addition of bee pollen improved the nutritional quality and functional potential of milk-based jelly candy, particularly as a natural source of protein and minerals.

The implementation of Biology learning in senior high schools still faces various challenges, particularly the limitations of laboratory facilities and the low level of students’ science process skills(KPS). KPS  is an essential ability that supports conceptual understanding and critical thinking development through practical activities. This community service program aimed to improve students’ basic laboratory skills and KPS through hands-on training. The program was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Kuningan University, involving students from SMAN 1 Ciwaru. The methods included socialization, laboratory equipment training, preparation of practical materials, animal dissection training, application of virtual laboratory technology, and mentoring and evaluation sessions. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ abilities to use laboratory tools, prepare materials, and perform experiments according to scientific procedures. Before the training, only 32% of students were able to use laboratory equipment correctly, while after the training, this increased to 84%. The average scores for observation, measurement, data interpretation, and scientific communication also improved significantly. Furthermore, a satisfaction survey revealed an average score of 4.6 out of 5, with 92% of participants stating that the activity was very beneficial. This program proved effective in enhancing students’ basic laboratory and science process skills, providing meaningful, applicable, and sustainable science learning experiences. Low frequency and minimal practicum facilities have become the main problems in the implementation of science learning at SMP Negeri 1 Sambi, Boyolali. According to the Minister of National Education Regulation Number 24 of 2007, the learning process requires facilities and infrastructure that support optimal implementation. The benefits of science practicum include increasing students’ motivation to learn science and providing opportunities for them to satisfy their curiosity through scientific approaches. The purpose of this research is to examine the implementation of science practicum and to evaluate the quality of the facilities and infrastructure of the science laboratory at SMP Negeri 1 Sambi, Boyolali. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results show that the quality of facilities and infrastructure for science practical activities at SMP Negeri 1 Sambi, Boyolali is classified as good, as stated in the Minister of National Education Regulation Number 24 of 2007, with an average percentage of 71.62%. The implementation of science practicum is categorized as very good, with an average percentage of 97.8%. The results of the questionnaire also show that 93.4% of the science practicums fall into the very good category, meaning that the implementation of science practicum for Grade VIII in the odd semester runs well.

This study investigates the use of experimental statistical analysis as an instructional approach to enhance students’ understanding of variable relationships in science learning. Many students tend to memorize experimental results without comprehending the underlying relationships between variables, resulting in limited analytical reasoning and superficial understanding. To address this issue, the present study explores how integrating basic statistical tools-such as mean, correlation, and regression-into experimental activities can strengthen conceptual comprehension, analytical reasoning, and scientific literacy. Grounded in constructivist and inquiry-based learning frameworks, the research emphasizes active engagement, where students participate in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to draw evidence-based conclusions. The study employed a quasi-experimental design involving science students divided into experimental and control groups. Both groups conducted similar laboratory experiments, but only the experimental group received explicit instruction in statistical analysis. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure changes in students’ understanding of variable relationships. The results indicated a 25% improvement in the experimental group’s comprehension and reasoning ability compared to the control group. Students who applied statistical analysis demonstrated greater proficiency in interpreting data, identifying causal patterns, and connecting theoretical knowledge to experimental findings. In contrast, students taught through traditional narrative-based instruction showed minimal gains and relied heavily on memorization. The findings highlight the effectiveness of integrating statistical reasoning in promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning skills.

Science process skills and conceptual mastery are two crucial aspects. Conceptual mastery involves understanding scientific concepts, while science process skills encompass the ability to conduct scientific work, apply concepts, predict and inquire, interpret and communicate, hypothesize, conclude, plan, and conduct experiments. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between science process skills and conceptual mastery through practical methods. The research method employed is quantitative with a correlational design. The study population includes all 11th-grade MIPA students at SMA Negeri 1 Bumi Agung, Lampung, with cluster random sampling used to select Class XI MIPA 1 as the sample. Data collection involved observation sheets and tests. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The correlation analysis began with testing prerequisites such as normality and linearity, confirming that the data were normally distributed and linear. The correlation between science process skills and conceptual mastery yielded an pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.940 with N = 32. The critical value (r-table) was 0.349. Since 0.940 > 0.349 and the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.00 < 0.05, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, indicating a very strong relationship between science process skills and conceptual mastery through practical methods. Theoretically, these findings affirm the importance of practice-based learning in strengthening conceptual understanding. Practically, the results recommend integrating structured laboratory activities to enhance students’ scientific inquiry skills and conceptual mastery.

The low scientific literacy of elementary school students, influenced by the use of conventional learning methods and lack of interactivity, encourages the need for new innovations based on digital technology. This study aims to test the optimization of the use of digital technology as a strategy to improve scientific literacy through a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of 60 fifth-grade students from one elementary school, namely SDN Pondok Labu 03, taken from 2 classes, each consisting of 30 students (30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group). The experimental group was given a digital technology-based science learning treatment, namely a virtual laboratory (Labster), and an educational application (Quizizz), for 8 weeks, while the control group used conventional methods. The research instruments included a scientific literacy test (HOTS questions) and student activity observation sheets. Data were analyzed quantitatively using t-test and ANOVA to compare the increase in scientific literacy scores between the two groups. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in scientific literacy scores (N-Gain 0.72) compared to the control group (N-Gain 0.32). The research conclusion proves that the systematic integration of digital technology is effective in improving the scientific literacy of elementary school students at Pondok Labu 03.

The industrial revolution 4.0 has begun to develop in aquaculture activities by utilizing the internet of things (IoT) in the last decade. The increase in intensive shrimp farming on Bangka Island in recent years is still conventional witfar from the use of digital and internet-based technology, especially vaname shrimp farming, including the Bio Ebi Micro Pokdakan in Air Mawar Village. This activity aims to design a water quality monitoring system that can be used in vaname shrimp aquaculture ponds. The main components in designing a remote-based pond water quality monitoring system consist of sensors, processing, data transmission, data storage and display. The activity has started with the design of a water quality monitoring tool in October - November 2022 in the Instrumentation and Acoustics Section of the Marine Science Laboratory at Bangka Belitung University which is then used by partners to monitor water quality conditions in shrimp ponds at Pokdakan Mikro Bio Ebi partners

The objective of this journal article is to present the findings of a dissemination activity concerning effective methods for studying legal science within faculties of law. This initiative responds to the persistent issue of the low quality of law graduates from institutions of higher education in Indonesia. The dissemination of effective learning methods in legal studies reveals that the improvement of campus facilities, paricularly classroom, libraries, and the overall safety of the academic environment must be prioritized alongside the enchancement of teaching staff quality. Such enhacement may be pursued by increasing lecturer’s income, thereby allowing them to concentate solely on reserch and teaching without the burden of administrative duties. Improved lecturer quality is expected to contribute significantly to academic quality of law graduates. This is due to the fundamental principle that effective legal education requires extensive reading, which is facilitated through library devolepment, as well as the frequent practice of procedural law, which necessitates the availibility of a legal laboratory in the form of a moot coourt facility.

This study aims to analyze the strategy of natural science laboratory management in improving the quality of practicums in senior high schools. This study uses a literature review approach by examining various academic sources related to laboratory management. The results of the analysis indicate that effective laboratory management includes five main strategies, namely management of equipment, materials, data, laboratory personnel training, and cost budgeting. The success of implementing this strategy depends on the implementation of supporting factors such as work safety, infrastructure quality, personnel capabilities and excellent data management systems. However, there are still many obstacles, including limited facilities and infrastructure, lack of professionals, inadequate budgets, and optimal planning and implementation of practices. Comprehensive improvements in laboratory management are expected to enable learning science to be implemented in a more optimal and sustainable manner.

This study aims to examine the problem of the lack of implementation of experiment-based learning in Biology subjects at SMA Nahdlatul Ulama Padangsidimpuan. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, with data collection through interviews with Biology teachers and literature studies. The results showed that limited laboratory facilities, lack of practicum tools and materials, and limited learning time allocation were the main obstacles in the implementation of practicum. Although teachers realize the importance of experimental activities in improving students' understanding and science process skills, structural support from schools is still very limited. In response to these obstacles, several alternatives such as the utilization of virtual laboratories, the use of experimental videos, and simple experiments based on local resources have been attempted. This research recommends strengthening educational policies that support practicum-based learning through the provision of adequate infrastructure, continuous training for teachers, and development of alternative learning media. Thus, Biology learning can be more effective in fostering students' scientific skills and critical thinking according to the demands of the 21st century.

Sterilization is a process that aims to remove all forms of microbial life, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores, from an object or surface. This process is very important in various fields, such as medicine, laboratories, food industry, and pharmaceuticals, to prevent infection and contamination. This article was written through a literature review of articles originating from international and national journals. Data searches were carried out through scientific-based websites and databases, namely Google Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed. The results show that of various sterilization methods such as autoclave, oven, ozone, filtration, steam, 70% alcohol, UV radiation and gamma rays, each has different effectiveness in killing microorganisms, and each method has advantages and disadvantages. . The conclusion of this article provides a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of various sterilization methods used in laboratory and industrial contexts.
