This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using vlogs as a Project Based Learning (PBL) media in the Fantasy Makeup course to enhance students’ soft skills, particularly in communication, public speaking, creativity, and problem solving. This research employed a pre-experimental design with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 25 students selected through a census sampling technique, in which the entire population was used as the research sample. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires administered in two stages: a pre-test before the implementation of the learning model and a post-test afterward. The data were analyzed using a Paired Sample T-Test to identify the mean differences in students’ soft skill scores before and after the learning treatment. The results showed a significant improvement in communication, public speaking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities after the implementation of the vlog-based PBL model. This study focuses on improving digital literacy and formal Indonesian language proficiency among the Indonesian diaspora community in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The community faces challenges in adapting to digital technology and maintaining linguistic and cultural identity, which limits their socio-economic participation and engagement in community activities. The objective of this research is to develop and implement a community-based program that enhances digital skills while promoting national language usage and cultural preservation. The program employed a participatory and interactive approach, including workshops, hands-on practice, mentoring, role-play, and storytelling, targeting 30 participants comprising youth, MSME actors, teachers, village officials, and housewives. Pre-test and post-test evaluations, direct observation, and interviews were used to assess the impact of the program. The results show significant improvements in digital literacy, with participants demonstrating enhanced skills in e-mail usage, document sharing, e-wallet applications, and digital security awareness, with post-test gains ranging from 40% to 45%. Likewise, proficiency in formal Indonesian language, public speaking, and cultural knowledge increased by 25% to 28%, reflecting both technical and cultural skill development. The findings indicate that community-based, participatory learning integrated with cultural reinforcement effectively bridges the digital divide and strengthens linguistic identity among diaspora communities. The study concludes that such a hybrid model not only empowers participants in digital and linguistic capacities but also promotes cultural sustainability and social cohesion, offering a scalable and replicable framework for similar communities.

A lack of self-esteem is often accompanied by nervousness when speaking in front of an audience, but a positive body image can help build confidence. Many challenges await first-year students, including adjusting to a new setting. Still, it's not always easy to perform for a live audience. In order to express themselves on campus, students need to work on their public speaking abilities. The primary objective of this research was to examine the relationship between first-year nursing students' body image perceptions and their anxiety when it comes to presenting in front of an audience. A cross-sectional approach, prevalent in quantitative research, is utilized in this study. Undergraduates from Semarang's Sultan Agung Islamic University's nursing program (class of 2024) participated in the research. A total of 157 students were selected at random. The correlation tool used in this study was Spearman's rank test. A high correlation between first-year nursing students' negative perceptions of their bodies and their anxiety when speaking in front of an audience was found among the 157 research participants (p value 0.000), according to the data analysis. Among the students, nearly half (40.8%) reported extremely low levels of body image satisfaction and nearly half (41.4%) reported extremely high levels of anxiety when it came to public speaking.

Self-confidence is a character that must be instilled in oneself from an early age, especially in this case for teenagers in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. The coastal area of Tomini Bay has rich natural resource potential and diverse cultural diversity. However, this area often faces various challenges, especially in terms of education and character development of its young generation. Teenagers tend to feel unable to be equal to other teenagers in urban environments. This is because of their low self-confidence. Therefore, starting from this problem, the community service offers a solution by forming a self-confidence character through Public Speaking training for junior high school students in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. Public Speaking training gives students the opportunity to practice speaking in front of many people, be able to respond to feedback constructively, and overcome nervousness or anxiety. A structured and ongoing training program is expected to form a self-confidence character in students. The implementation of this community service activity uses a training method. This community service activity will be carried out at SMP Negeri 3 Satap Bonepantai. This school is one of the schools included in the coastal area of Tomini Bay.
