Indonesia, as the world's largest archipelagic nation with significant marine territory, faces major challenges related to Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing. This issue negatively impacts local fishers and the national economy. This study examines Indonesia's maritime policies, including measures to combat IUU fishing through decisive actions such as sinking foreign vessels caught fishing illegally and introducing new policies like quota-based fishing. While these policies aim to reduce marine resource exploitation and promote sustainability, challenges persist, especially regarding the welfare of small-scale fishers who remain trapped in poverty. The research employs library research methods to explore the impact of policies on Indonesian fishers and the fisheries sector while highlighting the importance of more effective policies to balance stakeholders' interests and achieve sustainable fisheries management. Combating IUU fishing requires more comprehensive measures, including stricter monitoring and enhanced awareness among stakeholders in the fisheries sector.

To strengthen the characteristics of Islamic banking and increase its contribution to the national economy, OJK developed a unique Islamic product called Cash Waqf Linked Deposit (CWLD). This research aims to investigate the effects of CWLD empowerment programs on the welfare of beneficiaries, financial inclusion, social participation, and spiritual growth, aligning with the principles of Maqasid al-Shariah. These principles focus on poverty eradication, social justice, and economic welfare through Hifze deen (faith preservation), Hifze maal (wealth preservation), and providing the poor with access to productive resources like education, training, and credit. The study examines OJK's initiative to enhance Islamic bank participation in cash waqf management for sustainable finance and broader objectives of Maqasid al-Shariah.  In-depth interviews with seven key figures (two donors, three waqf institution representatives, and two managers) are analyzed using NVivo software.  The findings reveal a high level of alignment between the proposed CWLD product design and stakeholder expectations. This strong alignment underscores the product's capacity to meet the objectives of Maqasid al-Shariah, such as poverty eradication, social justice, and economic welfare. By addressing these fundamental Islamic principles, the CWLD product contributes to sustainable finance, ensuring that financial activities support long-term economic stability, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

Community development programs are very important in reducing poverty and enhancing societal prosperity by improving quality of life, fostering economic empowerment, and promoting inclusivity. However, not all the programs have success as expected. This study examines ten evaluation studies of community development programs across various areas and tries to find common weaknesses. A qualitative analysis of evaluation studies identifies shortcomings in three domains i.e. program design and management, stakeholder engagement and participation, and external resource constraints. It is argued that these shortcomings are largely predictable and highlight the need for proactive strategies. The paper suggests that embedding risk management into the conception and implementation of community development programs can mitigate these challenges. A simplified framework adapted from project management practices is proposed, encompassing risk identification, measurement, assessment, evaluation, and control. By systematically integrating risk management, community programs can anticipate obstacles, strengthen accountability, and enhance their likelihood of success. Recommendations include applying risk management throughout program cycles and conducting post-implementation evaluations to inform future initiatives.

This paper examines the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation and the relationship between the Nigerian economy and the Treasury Single Account Policy (2015-2024). The Nigerian economy has developed slowly over the years, which has led to little to no improvement in the country's residents' standard of living. The study's overall goal was to determine how the Treasury Single Account Policy affected Nigeria's economic developments between 2015 and 2024. Its specific goals were to determine whether the human development index, Gini coefficient, and poverty rate of the country's economy differed significantly between the pre-and post-implementation periods. The research utilized the design of the quantitative study. Nigerian citizens make up the study's population, while the citizens of Nigeria for the years 2015–2024 make up the sample size. The study employed secondary data that came from the World Bank's National Accounts Data, the National Bureau of Statistics, and the Central Bank of Nigeria's Statistical Bulletin. The paired sample t-test was used to assess the data. The outcome showed that, except the variable of human development index, which showed a significant difference between the periods before and after the implementation of the treasury single account policy, economic development indicators (gini coefficient and poverty rate) did not differ significantly between the periods before and after the policy. Consequently, the analysis found that the Treasury Single Using the poverty rate and Gini coefficient as stand-ins for economic development, account policy had no discernible effect on the Nigerian economy. Additionally, it was determined that the Treasury Single Account Policy had a major influence on Nigeria's economic development using the Human Development Index as a proxy for economic progress. Therefore, it was advised that government programs for human development be maintained and improved, particularly in the fields of health and education.

Zakat is one of the main pillars of Islam, required of Muslims who possess wealth exceeding the nisab threshold. Beyond its religious obligation, zakat also serves as a strategic tool for poverty alleviation and socioeconomic enhancement. The primary objective of zakat is to purify the wealth and soul of the muzakki (zakat giver) and to assist the mustahik (zakat recipients) in meeting their basic needs. In Indonesia, with its large Muslim population, the potential for zakat is significant, yet its impact on poverty reduction remains limited. Optimal zakat management is essential to ensure targeted distribution. Zakat includes eight categories of recipients: fakir, miskin, amil, muallaf, riqab, gharim, fii sabilillah, and ibn sabil. Through a productive approach, zakat can provide business capital and training to mustahik, enhancing their economic self-sufficiency and reducing social inequality. This study employs a library research method and a qualitative approach to explore the role of zakat in improving community welfare. The findings indicate that effective zakat management, especially in the form of productive zakat, can strengthen social solidarity and promote economic empowerment. Zakat functions not only as wealth redistribution but also as a holistic empowerment tool, contributing to achieving more equitable and comprehensive societal welfare.

Islam as a religion of rahmatan lil alamin, its teachings not only contain ritual worship, but also social worship. Zakat is a form of worship which is an obligation that must be fulfilled by every Muslim who has excess wealth. The potential figure for zakat in Indonesia is 327 trillion per year. The large potential zakat figures are not balanced with the welfare of the people, especially Muslims because the poverty rate in Indonesia is still high. The distribution of zakat in Indonesia is considered to be ineffective in overcoming the problem of poverty. BAZNAS as a national zakat management institution is now following in the footsteps of implementing productive zakat, although there are not many, but in Jakarta there are already BAZNAS that accept productive zakat, one of which is BAZNAS DKI Jakarta. This research was conducted to see the efforts and strategies of BAZNAS DKI Jakarta in managing productive zakat to reduce poverty. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with case study techniques. Data was obtained from interviews with BAZNAS sources as primary informants and the community as secondary informants. The results of the research show that the role of productive zakat in alleviating poverty is just helping the mustahik in running a selling business and has not provided any significant changes to the mustahik, and BAZNAS DKI Jakarta has three strategies in managing productive zakat, namely direct assistance (cash), indirect assistance. directly (products), and empowerment of disabled people.

Used goods are often considered garbage, but waste management is a serious problem in Indonesia, especially with increasing waste consumption and high poverty rates. Bank Sampah is emerging as a solution by managing used goods that have economic value, governed by environmental regulations. Although Bank Sampah is growing, there is no clear regulation on the legal entity used, especially in cooperation with third parties. Waste Bank with a sharia financial system has also emerged, but it is not yet clear in accordance with the applicable sharia banking regulations. The approach method used is normative juridical, analysing laws and regulations through literature study with the main study material in the form of regulations and secondary and tertiary materials. The results showed that the Waste Bank is a government solution with the 3R principle, involving the participation of the community, business entities, and local governments. Islamic Waste Banks such as iqtishadia in Pasong Village, Sumenep, are not only a place for collecting waste, but also conduct community assistance programmes. The Waste Bank helps alleviate poverty and the environmental law approach is key in achieving effective structuring and improving the environment.

Even though MSME business performance has not reached its optimal potential due to various obstacles such as lack of capital support and obstacles in business management, attention to the MSME sector remains important and growing. The three main reasons for supporting the increase in MSMEs are: first, MSMEs act as a survival strategy in times of economic downturn; second, the tendency of MSMEs to absorb labor and intensively utilize local natural resources; third, the role of MSMEs in reducing poverty levels and encouraging income distribution in society.
