This study develops an architectural design framework integrating fun and playful spatial characteristics with futuristic, science-based approaches to enhance children’s engagement with science and technology learning. Traditional learning environments are often rigid and fail to stimulate curiosity, especially among children aged 7–11. Utilizing a qualitative conceptual analysis, this research synthesizes architectural theory, neuroscience learning principles, children’s spatial psychology, and science-based design methodologies. The results show that playful spatial elements—dynamic forms, color contrasts, sensory interactions, and imaginative environments—significantly improve motivation, exploration, and conceptual understanding. Futuristic design components further support scientific literacy by projecting technological possibilities and integrating interactive digital tools. The study produces a conceptual architectural model linking playfulness, scientific experience, and future-oriented visualization. It concludes that learning environments must be intentionally designed to merge emotional engagement, cognitive stimulation, and technological representation. The implications extend to the design of children’s museums, science centers, and early STEM learning facilities.

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning methods are strategies used by teachers to effectively convey Islamic teachings so that they are easily understood, internalized, and practiced by students. The application of appropriate methods can create a more engaging, active, and meaningful learning process, enabling students not only to acquire knowledge but also to develop Islamic attitudes and personalities. In the context of modern education, PAI learning needs to integrate a variety of approaches, ranging from lectures, discussions, demonstrations, to hands-on, experiential learning. Furthermore, learning environments such as museums, mosques, monuments, and open spaces can be utilized as resources and supporting learning media, even if these places are not specifically designed for teaching and learning activities. Utilizing these environments provides real-life experiences that help students understand Islamic values contextually. Thus, PAI learning methods play a crucial role in realizing a holistic, comprehensive educational process oriented toward the formation of Islamic character.

In the learning process, there are various important aspects that must be considered, especially by teachers as transmitters of knowledge. The success of learning depends heavily on the teacher's ability to manage the classroom to create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Therefore, teachers need to choose the right learning method so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively. One method that can be used is Outdoor Learning, which is learning outside the classroom that provides opportunities for students to develop talents and creativity more broadly through direct experience in the open air. Management of the learning environment is also a crucial factor in supporting learning success. Several things that need to be considered include understanding the nature and development of student intelligence, getting to know students individually, utilizing student behavior in organizing learning, and developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. In addition, teachers need to create an attractive classroom, utilize the environment as a learning resource, provide constructive feedback, and differentiate between students' physical and mental activities. The learning environment itself consists of indoor and outdoor environments. The indoor environment includes school facilities such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and auditoriums. Meanwhile, the outdoor environment includes places outside the school that can be used as learning resources, such as museums, mosques, monuments, and fields. Prospective teachers need to understand the importance of managing the learning environment and understand the various types and benefits of learning environments to support an effective learning process.

Museums are essential for preserving culture and history, especially in cities like Jakarta, which have a history that spans from prehistoric times to modern times. The Fatahillah Museum in Jakarta is the best place to learn history because it has a collection of artifacts, important documents, and thematic exhibitions. The museum is not only a center for education, but it also helps to promote local culture through various activities such as workshops and seminars. The main challenge to improving the visitor experience is poor layout and circulation of the space. The way visitors enjoy the collections on display in the museum is greatly influenced by the layout, including the way the space is arranged. The Fatahillah Museum uses a hub-and-spoke and linear layout to direct visitors in a systematic way. But there are some problems, such as limited space, unergonomic collections and a poor navigation system. The space is filled with unique but sometimes confusing vertical and horizontal circulation grooves due to the architectural style of colonial Dutch museums. Factors such as visibility, lighting, and ergonomics also play a role in improving visitor comfort. With over 615,000 visitors in 2023, this problem is becoming more apparent, especially during busy holidays. To address this, the layout must be optimized, modern navigation is used, and the design of the exhibition hall must be updated to become more interactive and help students learn. In addition, arranging the collection chronologically and thematically can help visitors understand the historical and cultural context of the museum's collections.

Archives, as information recorded in various media, including cassette tapes, hold significant historical, cultural, and commercial value. These materials are classified as audiovisual archives. Among them, cassette tapes containing national and international songs form part of the collection at the Museum Musik Indonesia, located in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. As a self-managed museum run by a community of music enthusiasts, the Museum Musik Indonesia provides public access to information about its song collections. Given the large number of cassette tapes preserved, an effective information arrangement system is essential. This study recommends the use of a geographical classification system to organize the collection. Archive data is entered into a database using Microsoft Excel, allowing for structured cataloging and easier retrieval. This research employs a qualitative method, involving interviews with several informants from the Museum Musik Indonesia. The findings indicate that applying a geographical classification system in organizing cassette tape archives significantly improves the museum’s management capabilities. This system facilitates the rediscovery of archived items, enhances organization, and supports accurate record-keeping. Furthermore, electronic storage of archive information reduces the risk of data loss and ensures long-term preservation. The implementation of this arrangement not only benefits internal management but also enhances the quality of service provided to museum visitors. By enabling quicker and more accurate access to the collection, the museum can offer a richer and more engaging visitor experience. This study demonstrates that systematic archival practices, even when implemented with accessible tools like Microsoft Excel, can yield substantial benefits in cultural heritage preservation. The approach can serve as a reference for other small-scale or community-based museums seeking efficient, low-cost methods for managing and safeguarding their archival assets.

Museums as cultural preservation institutions have the responsibility to convey information about collections in an informative manner to the public. One of the historical events displayed at the Brawijaya Museum is Operation Trident in 1968. This research aims to design collection labels as an effective communication medium by considering aspects of archive classification, material selection, label design, and information readability. The method used is action research which is carried out through the planning and action stages. The label is designed using Art Paper material with a combination of black-and-white colors and Times New Roman fonts. This research not only emphasizes the aesthetic aspect, but also pays attention to the functional aspect in conveying messages to visitors. The label design process is carried out by paying attention to the suitability between historical content and the form of visual presentation, so that information can be conveyed in a concise, clear, and interesting manner. Effectiveness evaluation was carried out through the EPIC model approach to 105 respondents, including empathy, persuasion, impact, and communication indicators. The results of the study showed that the label was designed to be very effective as a communication medium for museums with high scores on all four indicators. The implication of this research is to improve the visitor experience in understanding the historical value of collections and the efficiency of archive management in the museum environment. In addition, the design of this label can be a reference for other museums in developing information media based on a visual communication approach that is right on target. Thus, the museum serves not only as a repository of artifacts, but also as an interactive and communicative educational center. Furthermore, this research emphasizes the importance of integration between information technology and visual communication strategies in the management of modern museums. The use of professionally designed labels based on the results of empirical evaluation contributes to the improvement of the image of museum institutions in the eyes of the public. It is hoped that this approach can encourage museums to be more innovative in creating participatory learning experiences, especially for the younger generation.

This research explores cultural preservation strategies through the development of the tourism sector, using the Surakarta Palace as a case study. The Surakarta Palace, a cultural heritage site in Central Java with significant historical and cultural value, plays a vital role in preserving Javanese traditions while contributing to regional tourism growth. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the Surakarta Palace actively preserves culture through various initiatives such as organizing traditional ceremonies, staging classical Javanese art performances (like gamelan and wayang), and managing museums that house historical artifacts and royal collections. These strategies serve not only to maintain cultural continuity but also to increase the attractiveness of the palace as a cultural tourism destination. Despite these efforts, several challenges remain. These include limited financial resources, minimal use of digital media for promotion, and the lack of public awareness—especially among younger generations—regarding the importance of cultural heritage. To address these challenges, the study emphasizes the need for integrated collaboration between the government, the Surakarta Palace institution, and the surrounding community. Strengthening digital-based promotional strategies and educational outreach is also considered essential to increase public engagement and sustainable tourism impact. In conclusion, the Surakarta Palace serves as a strategic model for cultural preservation within the tourism framework. By improving stakeholder cooperation and adapting to technological advances, cultural heritage can be preserved effectively while supporting local economic development through tourism. Therefore, cultural preservation and tourism development should be positioned as complementary efforts, where the sustainability of both depends on strategic planning, inclusive participation, and adaptive innovation in facing the dynamic demands of modern tourism.
