This research explores the low political participation of students in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the State University of Medan in conveying their aspirations to the government. Characteristics of a democratic country highlight the active involvement of its citizens in political activities, including student political participation. Student organizations are considered small entities similar to the government. The literature review involves definitions of democracy, forms of democracy, and political participation. The research method uses a quantitative and descriptive approach with data collection through questionnaires and interviews. The research findings indicate that the majority of students rarely or never convey their aspirations, driven by a lack of confidence that their aspirations will be responded to. Respondent profiles show a majority from the Geography department and with student registration numbers from the year 2022. Factors influencing low participation include lack of trust, low awareness, and lack of support from student organizations. Recommendations include increasing courage, organizational support, student awareness, interdisciplinary networks, innovation, easily accessible communication platforms, and active government engagement. This research provides in-depth insights and offers recommendations to enhance student participation in conveying political aspirations.

Writing Skills is one of the four maharah studied in Arabic. Writing Skills  is a way of expressing language and feelings through writing. In Writing Skills there are three elements that are trained intensively, namely, imla', khat (calligraphy) and insha'. The success of an Arabic written work can be seen from the effectiveness of the Writing Skills studied. The aim of this research is to determine the extent of the effectiveness of Writing Skills on the writing results of Arabic language education students at the North Sumatra State Islamic University Medan. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection methods using interviews and library literature. The results of this research found that the Writing Skills studied by Semester V Arabic Language Education students at the North Sumatra State Islamic University, Medan, was quite effective. Where students already understand the rules of writing Arabic properly and correctly and are able to write an essay in Arabic writing.

This research aims to explore the influence of two types of text, namely academic and non-academic, on student understanding in the learning context. Involving Medan State University (UNIMED) students, this research used a Google Form questionnaire as a data collection tool. The research results show that the use of non-academic texts can increase student interest and involvement, while the combination of academic and non-academic texts is considered effective for broadening insight and understanding of learning material. The conclusions of this study highlight the importance of flexibility in learning approaches, emphasizing that a diversity of text types is key to achieving effective education.

This research aims to describe facts in the field regarding the role, implementation, and factors that influence the application of Pancasila values for students. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Meanwhile, the data collection technique used in this research is a questionnaire. The results of this research show that the role of students in implementing Pancasila values is by having high tolerance, being active in social activities, having integrity as leaders based on Pancasila values, supporting the process of collective deliberation and decision making, and having a conscience. and put it into real action. Based on the results of a questionnaire conducted on Medan State University students regarding the implementation of one of the values contained in Pancasila, namely an attitude of tolerance towards cultural, ethnic and religious differences, the results showed that the majority of students had instilled and implemented it well. Meanwhile, the small number who do not understand and implement this attitude of tolerance may be caused by several internal and external aspects or factors.

This study aims to explore the role of scientific articles in the development of insight and critical thinking of students at Medan State University. The research method used a survey with 20 respondents. The results show that scientific articles are effective in deepening students' understanding and critical thinking skills. Despite challenges such as language comprehension, scientific articles remain a valuable tool in higher education, supporting students' preparation for a complex future.

This study explains the application of the Takwil verse in surah Taha verse 5 to instill the religiosity of students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan Arabic Language Education Study Program II Stambuk 2020. The type of research in this paper is qualitative research.  Data collection techniques used by way of interviews and also with various sources in the form of books and journals.  The results of this study indicate that what must be instilled and applied in the student environment is that the understanding of surah Taha verse 5 is that Allah exists without a place.  And the value of religiosity found in it is related to the issue of aqidah and about the nature of God which is different from the nature of creatures.

This research aims to find out the results of research analysis of students abilities through the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperative learning model from various literature, as well as to analyze the difficulties of students mathematical communication skills through the Two Stay Two Stray model. This type of research is descriptive qualitative and uses a literature study research method which was carried out at the Digital Library, Medan State University in July – September 2022. The instrument in this study was the author himself. The steps of this research are: (1) Designing the research. (2) Carry out the research design. (3) Analyze and provide conclusions on the results of the analysis. The analysis technique used in the selection of information related to data analysis techniques is the Miles and Huberman analysis technique. The data source used secondary data consisting of 5 journals. The conclusions of the results of this study show that: (1) The average results of tests of students mathematical communication abilities through the application of the TSTS model are: (a) The indicator of mathematical representation is 51.93%, (b) The indicator of writing/explaining mathematics was 40.31%, (c) The indicators describe is 37.94%. (2) There are several difficulties experienced by students and teachers are: (a) Students have difficulty connecting real objects, pictures, and diagrams into mathematical models, (b) Students lack confidence in communicating arguments and ideas in mathematical problems, ( c) Students are less thorough in working on questions, (d) Students have difficulty expressing mathematical ideas in the form of graphs, pictures, or tables, (e) Low student skills in understanding mathematical communication problems and drawing conclusions about mathematical communication problems, (f ) The role of the teacher is less than optimal in carrying out learning activities.
