This study aims to analyze the factors determining the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia through a literature review approach. MSMEs make a significant contribution to the national economy, but their growth still faces various structural barriers. Based on the results of the literature review, it was found that access to capital, human resource quality, managerial capacity, innovation, digitalization, marketing strategies, and government policies are the main factors influencing MSME growth. Limited capital and low financial literacy are dominant obstacles that hinder business expansion. Furthermore, weak managerial capacity and digital competency prevent many MSMEs from optimally exploiting market opportunities. Innovation and the use of digital technology have been proven to increase efficiency and marketing reach, but the adoption rate remains low. External factors such as government regulations, simplified licensing, and support from empowerment programs also play a significant role in creating a conducive business climate. This study emphasizes that MSME development requires a comprehensive approach that integrates internal aspects of business actors and structural government support. The research results are expected to serve as a reference for academics, policymakers, and MSME actors in formulating more effective development strategies.

This study analyzes the contribution of the nighttime economy to the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pekanbaru City, particularly the culinary sector, which dominates nighttime economic activity. This research is motivated by the increasing public consumption at night, which shapes urban economic dynamics and requires effective public governance. The research method uses a qualitative approach through literature review and in-depth interviews with nighttime MSMEs to describe business conditions and governance challenges. The analysis is based on Adam Smith's Theory of Economic Growth, emphasizing capital accumulation, population growth, and technological advancement. The results show that nighttime economic activity generates high levels of consumption, which increases MSME income and enables capital accumulation for business development and product quality improvement. Urban population growth and the use of digital technology, including social media, delivery services, and digital payment systems, contribute to expanding market reach and improving business efficiency. However, MSME development in the nighttime economy remains constrained by limited access to capital, inadequate public infrastructure, and regulatory uncertainty. This study emphasizes the need for integrated local government policies.

This study investigates the influence of financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and financial inclusion on the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through business sustainability. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) examines the impact of financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and financial inclusion on MSME performance through business sustainability mediation by synthesizing empirical data from 12 research (2020–2025) across Scopus and Web of Science. Positive direct effects on sustainability (financial literacy via budgeting/risk management; training via adaptive resilience; inclusiveness via digital access) and performance metrics like profitability/growth are confirmed by results using the PRISMA 2020 flow.  Amid obstacles like financial access restrictions and COVID-19 disruptions, business sustainability appears as a crucial mediator, linking these factors to improved MSME results in developing contexts (Africa, Indonesia). Practical implications compel policymakers to give integrated literacy programs, contextual training, and inclusive finance top priority. Theoretical contributions combine financial literacy, entrepreneurial learning, and sustainability ideas into a holistic mediation model. The results highlight the importance of integrating financial education, entrepreneurial skill development, and inclusive financial systems to strengthen MSME resilience and competitiveness. This study provides practical implications for policymakers, financial institutions, and support organisations in designing effective interventions that foster sustainable business growth. The research also contributes theoretically by confirming the mediating role of business sustainability in the relationship between financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, financial inclusion, and MSME performance. Future studies may expand these insights by examining additional contextual factors such as digital technology adoption and business networking that further support sustainable MSME development.

This study aims to analyze the role of the Makmur Mandiri Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP) in supporting the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). KSP Makmur Mandiri serves as a microfinance institution providing financial access and business mentoring for MSME actors. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a Group Investigation approach, involving group discussions to gain deeper insights from relevant literature sources such as journals and books. The theoretical review supports understanding the cooperative’s role in improving member welfare and the obstacles faced in managing and developing MSMEs. The findings show that KSP Makmur Mandiri has succeeded in providing continuous capital and support, helping MSMEs to survive and grow despite economic challenges, especially after the pandemic. However, the cooperative faces various internal and external obstacles that require strategic collaboration for sustainable development. The implication of this study is to encourage enhanced managerial capacity of cooperatives and the need for stronger government policy support to optimize the cooperative’s role as a strategic partner for MSMEs.

The economy of West Sumatra Province has shown a significant decline in recent years, with the lowest growth rate on the entire island of Sumatra. This study aims to examine the influence of capital expenditure, unemployment, and the Human Development Index on economic growth in this region between 2014 and 2024. Using multiple linear regression and data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance, the analysis shows that capital expenditure and unemployment have a significant negative impact on economic growth, while the Human Development Index (HDI) has no significant impact. Although capital expenditure varies, the decline in unemployment indicates a change in labor market conditions. This information indicates that government efforts to increase spending on infrastructure and public services are still ineffective in driving growth. Therefore, it is recommended that the government prioritize budget allocations in productive sectors such as infrastructure, tourism, and MSME development to help small businesses grow and advance through training, capital support, and technology implementation to ensure competitiveness and sustainability. Therefore, this study is expected to provide deeper insight into the elements that influence economic growth in West Sumatra and serve as a guide for further, more comprehensive research.

This study aims to examine the potential of processing purple sweet potatoes into stick-shaped snack products as an effort to improve the economy of Tebing Linggahara Village. Purple sweet potato is a local commodity with high nutritional value, antioxidant content, and promising market prospects when processed into modern snack products. The research method used was a descriptive approach consisting of observation, interviews, and direct product processing practices with the local community. The findings indicate that processing purple sweet potatoes into snack sticks provides higher economic value compared to selling fresh sweet potatoes, which generally have lower market prices. In addition, the community gained knowledge of food processing techniques, hygiene standards, packaging, and effective marketing strategies to enhance product competitiveness. Business legality is very important for business actors in the development and sustainability of a business. Business Identification Number (NIB) is an important identity for MSMEs that can increase product attractiveness and make licensing easier. NIB is very profitable in obtaining capital that can be used to optimize its business so that it can compete in the global market. The government has assisted MSMEs through the OSS system in establishing business legality. However, there are still many business actors who lack knowledge and understanding in making business legal. This service is carried out with the aim of resolving this problem, by providing socialization of understanding and assistance in making business legality through Online Single Submission (OSS).
