The ecological crisis affecting Central Kalimantan reveals systemic environmental degradation, ranging from deforestation and river pollution to peatland destruction caused by massive extractive activities. The impact of this crisis extends beyond ecological damage, disrupting the social, cultural, and spiritual order of the Dayak Indigenous communities. This article aims to reflect on Dayak communal spirituality as a path toward ecological conversion in the light of the encyclical Laudato Si’. Employing a qualitative approach through theological–contextual hermeneutics and library research, this study examines the dialogue between Dayak cosmology, communal life values, and the Catholic Church’s vision of integral ecology. The findings indicate that Dayak communal spirituality affirms a reciprocal relationship among humans, nature, the community, and the Creator, which resonates with the call for ecological conversion articulated in Laudato Si’. This article argues that integrating Dayak communal spirituality into the Church’s pastoral praxis holds transformative potential in fostering ecological awareness, strengthening the inculturation of faith, and encouraging the active participation of the faithful in caring for our common home in a sustainable manner.

he fatherless phenomenon in Bandung City affects family communication patterns and influences how adult women determine partner criteria. This study aims to examine the conversation and conformity orientations in the family communication of fatherless adult women when choosing a life partner. The research employed a qualitative case study approach using purposive sampling, involving four key informants and eight supporting informants. The findings indicate that conversation orientation is more focused on the mother, but is limited by feelings of awkwardness and inequality in speaking positions, reducing openness in discussing life values. The conformity orientation, centered on the mother as the dominant figure, does not always reach the child due to emotional differences and the indirect delivery of expectations, which create emotional distance and tension. The mother assumes a dual role as the source of values, moral guidance, and understanding of family life; however, communication tends to be one-sided and less balanced. The study recommends that individuals who have experienced the loss of a father figure develop self-awareness regarding the influence of past experiences in partner selection, understand the relationship values they believe in, and foster healthy communication to build more stable and meaningful relationships. In addition, the study highlights the importance of creating safe spaces for dialogue within the family, so that openness and equality in communication can emerge. Strengthening social support systems, including peer and community support, can also complement family communication, thereby helping fatherless adult women establish healthier relationship choices in the future.

The Titanic drama contains many figurative expressions that reflect deep emotions, life values, and internal conflicts. These figures of speech are used to describe love, fear, sadness, and hope in a more vivid and memorable way. The emotional experiences of the characters, especially Jack and Rose, are shown not only through direct dialogues but also through creative figurative language. This study aims to examine the types of figures of speech found in Titanic, a drama film directed by James Cameron. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this study analyzes the film's dialogues based on the conceptual figurative theory proposed by Lakoff and Johnson. This study identified three main types of figures of speech: structural, ontological (including personification and metonymy), and orientational figures of speech. The results showed that structural figures of speech were the most dominant type, appearing in 45.9% of the total data, followed by ontological figures of speech at 29.7%, and orientational figures of speech at 24.3%. This finding proves that figures of speech are not only used to beautify language but also to express feelings and views on life in a deeper and more emotional way. The allusions in Titanic help the audience understand the characters' thoughts and experiences better.

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media and social environment on the hedonistic lifestyle among contemporary adolescents. A hedonistic lifestyle, which prioritizes the pursuit of personal pleasure and material satisfaction, has become increasingly prevalent among adolescents with the rapid development of technology, especially social media. This research employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and case studies involving adolescents who are active social media users in several major cities in Indonesia. The results indicate that social media plays a significant role in shaping ideal life standards that emphasize luxury, social status, and instant gratification, which influences adolescents to pursue similar lifestyles. Additionally, the social environment, particularly family and peer groups, further strengthens adolescents' desire to gain recognition and social status through a consumerist lifestyle. The study also finds that although a hedonistic lifestyle provides momentary satisfaction, its long-term effects can be detrimental both psychologically and financially, and can worsen self-image and emotional well-being among adolescents. Therefore, it is important to provide more comprehensive education to adolescents on the wise use of social media and support the development of healthier life values within family and school environments.
