Technological developments and globalization have brought changes to the mindsets and behaviors of the younger generation, including a declining interest in history learning and low historical awareness. Islamic Cultural History (ISH) plays a crucial role in shaping historical awareness because it encompasses values of faith, scholarship, tolerance, leadership, and morals relevant to modern life. This study aims to analyze the role of ISH learning in shaping the historical awareness of the younger generation, explain its importance in understanding Islamic historical values, and examine the effective implementation of ISH learning in the modern era. This study used a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were obtained from books, scientific journals, articles, and various other sources relevant to the research theme. Data were analyzed descriptively and analytically through a process of collection, reduction, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that ISH learning plays a significant role in building the historical awareness of the younger generation by instilling Islamic character values and identity. Historical awareness helps students understand the interconnectedness of the past, present, and future, enabling them to draw lessons from historical events. Implementation of Islamic Education (SKI) learning can be carried out through a contextual approach, active learning methods, the use of digital technology, role models, and experiential learning. Thus, SKI serves not only as a means of transferring knowledge but also as a medium for character and identity formation for the younger generation in the era of globalization.

This study aims to examine the role of the family in Islamic character education and evaluate strategies that families can implement to build the foundation of children's morals in today's era. The method used was qualitative research with a library study, collecting data from various sources such as books, scientific journals, and related research findings. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that families play a significant role in shaping children's character through role models, the instillation of religious values, effective communication, and supervision of digital technology use. The implementation of Islamic character education within the family environment can create a strong moral foundation, enabling children to face the challenges of the times without losing their moral and spiritual values. This research provides implications that active participation of parents in family education is a major factor in building the character of a generation with noble morals in the modern era.

The importance of education as a foundation for developing an intelligent and qualified generation, with an emphasis on Islamic religious education as a tool for shaping students' character and morals. Islamic religious education, particularly in the study of faith and morals, emphasizes ethical values such as caring and honesty. With the challenges in education becoming increasingly complex, one example is that many educators are unable to utilize learning media in today's advanced technology. One proposed solution is the use of the digital platform Kahoot, which has been proven to attract student interest in learning faith and morals, overcoming the boredom often encountered with traditional methods, such as lectures. It is emphasized that schools need adequate facilities and strategies for using gadgets to enhance students' learning experiences. The quantitative method used in this study is a pre-experimental study. In this study, the researcher used the one-group pretest and posttest design model. Based on the research results, there was a pretest score with a mean of 93.46, a median of 95, and a mode of 95. The posttest score had a mean of 84.62, a median of 90, and a mode of 100. The sig. (2-tailed) table showed 0.002 with a research alpha of 5% or 0.005. It can be concluded that there is no effect because 0.002 < 0.005. Therefore, H1 is rejected. Therefore, there is no effect of using the Kahoot application on the subject of faith and morals on improving student learning outcomes at MAS Tarbiyah Islamiyah.

Systematic Literature Review Journal 2026 International Forum of Researchers and Lecturers

This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) research synthesizes findings from five scientific articles that focus on the vital role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in overcoming the crisis and moral decadence among the Young Generation triggered by the minimal internalization of positive values in education, the lack of family roles, and the challenges of the digital era. The results of the synthesis show that overcoming the moral crisis requires a comprehensive approach, including: first, Affective Approach: PAI must transform from a cognitive focus to an Affective Approach based on the core values of the Qur'an (Ihsan, Rahmah, Tawadhu', Sabr, Amanah) to touch students' spirituality; second, Social Integration: PAI must be integrated with social reality to foster social piety through community-based programs (mosques) that ground Islamic values contextually; and third, Digital Adaptation: PAI teachers play a strategic role as moral role models and are required to adapt to the digital era through strategies for utilizing interactive technology and forming positive digital communities to overcome the influence of negative social media content. Overall, PAI is a central pillar whose effectiveness depends on strong collaboration between educational environments and the ability of teachers to be technologically literate spiritual-affective guides.

This article explores the concept of a “House of Faith” as a holistic educational framework designed to build students’ character based on religious values. The fundamental idea of the House of Faith is likened to a school environment that provides a comfortable and safe space for students to develop their faith and noble character through learning activities connected to religious teachings. A religious school environment is created through everyday atmospheres that encourage the practice of worship, the presence of religious symbols, and community activities that strengthen students’ spirituality. Programs to reinforce religious spirit include activities such as communal prayers, religious studies, and social projects designed to gradually enhance students’ spiritual awareness. Teachers and educational staff play a highly effective role, acting as role models and facilitators in the learning process. Their approach to instilling faith and moral values involves interactive methods such as group discussions, inspirational stories, and personal reflection, all adapted to students’ developmental stages. Collaboration between the school and parents becomes a key factor in ensuring consistent support. This is carried out through regular meetings, joint workshops, and open communication that reinforces family values. The impact of religious spirit on students can be seen in increased discipline, social empathy, emotional resilience, and stronger academic motivation. However, implementation faces challenges such as limited curriculum time, diversity of student backgrounds, and cultural resistance. These challenges are addressed through solutions, including regular teacher training, program evaluation, and the integration of technology for distance learning. Overall, the article emphasizes that a school functioning as a House of Faith can shape young generations who are not only intellectually capable but also strong in faith and morals, contributing to a more harmonious and meaningful society.

The development of information and communication technology in the 21st century has driven a major transformation in the world of education, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The learning process is no longer limited to conventional classrooms but has shifted to interactive and dynamic digital spaces. This study aims to analyze the role of technology in PAI learning innovation by reviewing its effectiveness, challenges, and implementation strategies from a pedagogical and theological perspective. Through a library research approach with content analysis of scientific literature, this study found that the use of digital technologies such as e-learning platforms, social media, and Islamic applications has the potential to strengthen the internalization of Islamic values in a contextual and engaging manner for the digital native generation. However, the application of technology in PAI still faces various obstacles, such as disparities in access, low teacher digital literacy, and the threat of religious disinformation in cyberspace. Therefore, technology integration must be accompanied by strengthening digital ethics and the principles of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah to prevent the erosion of the spiritual value of Islamic education. The study's findings demonstrate that effective Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning innovations focus not only on the use of digital media but also on character development and noble morals through holistic, creative, and humanistic learning designs. This research contributes to the formulation of a new paradigm for Islamic education that integrates technology and spirituality as a means of developing a generation of Muslims who are morally upright, critical, and adaptable to the challenges of the digital era.

This research aims to respond to the complex challenges of the digital era, where students are not only required to develop scientific thinking skills but also to strengthen ethics and character as the primary basis for filtering information and acting wisely in cyberspace. Rapid technological developments are often not directly proportional to the mastery of moral literacy, so the application of Islamic ethical values is crucial to create a balance between intellectual intelligence and good morals. This research aims to examine how combining scientific thinking with Islamic ethics can strengthen students' character, while also identifying effective implementation approaches in contemporary learning environments. The method used is a literature study with descriptive qualitative analysis, involving the review of various literature sources related to scientific thinking, character education, and Islamic ethical principles. The results show that the collaboration between systematic, critical, and objective scientific thinking processes with Islamic ethical values such as honesty, responsibility, and politeness can shape students' mindsets and behaviors that are more moderate, responsible, and ethical in the use of technology. This integration also improves students' ability to carefully assess digital information, make appropriate moral decisions, and avoid deviations in cyberspace. In terms of implications, this research emphasizes the need to develop a curriculum and teaching strategies that structuredly combine cognitive and affective aspects, so that schools can produce a generation that is not only academically superior, but also has a strong, adaptive character and noble morals amidst the unstoppable wave of digital technology development.

Through social media, everyone can express themselves and access information quickly. Through social media, everyone can express themselves and access information quickly. The ease of access to information, the ease of interacting with others, the ease of expressing oneself and one's opinion, as well as the ease of building relationships and business, make social media an important technology for modern society. However, the easy access to the outside world through social media makes social media a double-edged sword for its users. Foreign culture that freely enters through social media has jeopardized local culture, morals, and norms in society, as many young people, including Generation Z, consume and imitate western content.

Therefore, moral education is present as a systematic effort to instill good values in a sustainable and contextual manner with the development of the times. This study uses a library research approach to explore the role of moral education in shaping the character of children who are devoted to their parents. Data sources are collected from scientific journals, textbooks, and current academic articles relevant to the theme. The results of the study show that the formation of filial character is greatly influenced by the example of parents and teachers, habituation of positive behaviors such as good manners, worship together, and affectionate communication. In addition, the integration of moral values in the school environment, explicit curriculum policy support for character education, and the wise use of digital media are important factors in supporting the success of moral education. Furthermore, strengthening the school culture and the active involvement of the community in internalizing moral values also strengthen the moral education process. This study concludes that moral education cannot run in isolation, but must be the result of synergy between family, school, and community. Thus, children not only grow up as intellectually intelligent individuals, but also have emotional and spiritual intelligence that reflects an attitude of respect and love for parents. Strong moral education from an early age is a long-term investment for the formation of a generation with noble character.

This article discusses the dynamics of Islamic education during the Sultanate of Banten, an Islamic kingdom that developed since the 16th century and became one of the centers of Islamic civilization in the archipelago. Islamic education in Banten not only shapes the Islamic identity of the community, but also strengthens morality, social solidarity, and cultural resilience. Islamic boarding schools are the main pillars of education that integrate the teaching of religious science, character education, and socio-religious practices. The role of pesantren expands, not only as a learning center, but also as a da'wah institution that instills the values of independence, justice, and brotherhood in the midst of a multicultural society. Great scholars such as Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani and Sheikh Yusuf al-Makassari have an important role in strengthening the scientific network between Banten, the Middle East, and the Islamic world. Their profound works in the fields of jurisprudence, Sufism, and morals had a great influence on the development of Islamic thought in Southeast Asia. The pesantren curriculum that focuses on the yellow book, with the teaching methods of sorogan, bandongan, and wetonan, produces students who are not only knowledgeable, but also disciplined, moral, and sensitive to social problems. The Dutch colonial period brought severe challenges with secular policies and restrictions on Islamic education. However, pesantren still exist as spiritual and intellectual fortresses. This success is supported by the ability of pesantren to develop economic independence and expand scientific networks through the overseas migration of students to various Islamic study centers abroad. Until now, Banten's Islamic education heritage has transformed into a modern Islamic boarding school that is able to combine classical traditions with technology and global insights. This study confirms that traditional Islamic education in Banten has a strategic role in shaping the social, spiritual, and identity structure of the Muslim community, which persists across generations.
