Substance and prescription drug misuse among adolescents continues to escalate and demands targeted preventive strategies within the school setting. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ knowledge about the hazards of drug abuse through an interactive, school-based educational intervention. The program was conducted on 11 November 2026 at SMA Negeri 7 Kota Batam, involving fifty grade-X students as participants. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The intervention combined interactive lectures, real-case illustrations, and two-way discussion, with knowledge measured using a content-validated questionnaire covering ten indicators. The mean score improved from 55.2 (pretest) to 86.3 (posttest), a gain of 31.1 points, while the proportion of correct answers across indicators rose from 48.6-62.9% to 80.0-91.4%. The largest gains appeared on items concerning rational drug use and the importance of professional health guidance, whereas the legal-consequence indicator improved more modestly. Interactive, contextually relevant education proves effective in elevating adolescent knowledge of drug abuse hazards, with stronger gains on experience-near content than on abstract regulatory aspects.

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as Diabetes Mellitus and Gout pose a serious threat to the health of the elderly due to their often asymptomatic nature. Cost barriers hinder the elderly community from accessing laboratory services. This community service activity aims to improve health standards and early detection of NCDs through monitoring blood glucose and uric acid levels in the Generasi Kaleb community of the JKI Injil Kerajaan Church, Semarang. The Participatory Health Screening and Education method used includes health education, screening using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) tool, and personal consultation on the results. The service subjects were 50 elderly respondents. The examination results showed a prevalence of abnormal random blood glucose (GDS) of 8%, 32%, had high uric acid levels with a maximum value of 10.3 mg/dL. This activity successfully transformed the elderly's awareness from subjective perception to awareness based on objective data, and encouraged community independence in managing a healthy lifestyle to prevent further NCD complications. .

This study aims to identify and evaluate the cultural tourism potential of Kalurahan Grogol in Gunungkidul Regency to inform the development of a community-based cultural tourism village. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach supported by quantitative scoring techniques using a 1–5 Likert scale across four assessment dimensions: cultural value, physical value, tourism value, and experiential value. The analysis applied Du Cros and McKercher’s Market Appeal–Robusticity Matrix to map the market attractiveness and cultural robustness of each cultural asset. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation studies of 46 tangible and intangible cultural assets in Kalurahan Grogol. The findings reveal that most cultural assets exhibit moderate to high cultural robustness, indicating that local cultural practices remain active and socially sustained within the community. Prominent cultural assets such as Rasulan, Karawitan Lestari Budoyo, Reog Sedyo Laras, Gejlok Lesung, Sega Berkat, and Tempe Godhong are positioned in Quadrant A1, characterized by high market appeal and high robustness, making them highly potential as leading cultural tourism attractions. Meanwhile, assets in Quadrants B and C present opportunities to develop creative, educational, spiritual, and wellness-based experiential tourism products. The study also finds that several sacred traditions categorized in Quadrant D are more appropriately preserved through non-commercial approaches. The absence of cultural assets in the D3 category indicates that the cultural system of Kalurahan Grogol remains adaptive and regenerative amid modernization. This research contributes theoretically by extending the application of the Market Appeal–Robusticity Matrix into the context of community-based cultural tourism villages. It provides strategic recommendations for sustainable cultural tourism development that remain sensitive to local cultural authenticity.

Churches and Christian institutions frequently face the challenge of congregations whose understanding of ministry remains confined to the spiritual dimension alone, while the holistic ministry mandate calls for active engagement across social, educational, and economic spheres. This study examines two primary objectives: first, how Christian Religious Education (CRE) shapes congregational understanding of holistic church ministry; and second, how CRE equips congregants with the concrete capacity to serve comprehensively. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed at Yayasan Sola Gratia Medan. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with seven informants comprising foundation leaders, program coordinators, active church members, volunteers, and beneficiaries. Analysis followed a thematic framework encompassing data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that: (1) consistent CRE implementation at Yayasan Sola Gratia has successfully shifted the congregational ministry paradigm from exclusively spiritual to holistically transformative; and (2) congregants who have internalized CRE values demonstrate more structured ministry capacity, stronger theological motivation, and significant cross-dimensional engagement. This research contributes a contextual CRE model relevant for church-based institutions operating in multidimensional urban environments.

The acceleration of digitalization in recent years has shaped a new socio-economic landscape in Indonesia. Access to app-based financial services and online entertainment has increased rapidly, but at the same time, illegal online lending and digital gambling, targeting adolescents, have flourished. This paper explores a Community Service intervention model that combines preventative digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) optimization within the La Tansa Islamic Boarding School in Palembang. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and written reflection analysis. Findings indicate that strengthening digital literacy based on critical awareness not only improves risk understanding but also deepens self-control integrated with religious values. AI training for educators also encourages changes in learning practices to be more adaptive and reflective of the dynamics of the digital era. This model offers a digital resilience approach that can be replicated in other educational institutions with similar characteristics.

The high volume of fishery waste often poses an environmental burden if not managed appropriately. Conversely, the circular economy concept offers sustainable solutions aligned with Maqasid Shariah principles in environmental preservation (Hifz al-Alam). This study aims to educate and implement the processing of fish waste into high-quality animal feed that meets halal standards (halalan thayyiban). This research employs a qualitative approach using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The stages include socializing the concept of Sharia circular economy, technical training on waste processing, and nutritional content testing of the feed. The findings indicate an 80% increase in community understanding regarding the economic value of waste. Technically, the fish waste processing successfully produced an alternative animal feed with high protein content, free from najis (impurity) through a purification process according to Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). This education proves that the integration of circular economy and Sharia principles not only reduces environmental impact but also creates sustainable economic added value for local communities.

Postpartum depression is a postpartum mental health disorder that significantly impacts maternal well-being, infant development, and family functioning. The high prevalence of postpartum depression in Indonesia is due to limited access to health services, low mental health literacy, and social stigma in the community. This indicates a significant gap between the need for maternal mental health services and the availability of existing interventions, making education a crucial component in efforts to prevent postpartum depression early. This study aims to analyze the prevention of postpartum depression in postpartum mothers through telenursing-based education and screening using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) in the community. A descriptive case study design was used, involving one respondent, a 25-year-old primigravida mother residing in the Bantul area. The intervention was implemented online via WhatsApp and video calls, including structured health education on postpartum psychological changes, adaptive coping strategies, and the importance of social support. The intervention also included daily remote monitoring of the respondent's condition via the WhatsApp mobile application. The EPDS was administered as a pre-test and post-test to evaluate changes in the respondent's psychological condition. The findings showed a significant decrease in the EPDS score from 16 (moderate depression) to 6 (minimal depression), indicating significant psychological improvement. These results imply that integrating EPDS screening, structured health education, and daily monitoring is an effective and accessible community-based approach to preventing postpartum depression, particularly for mothers with limited mobility and access to health services.

Persons with disabilities often face negative stigma and challenges in developing their potential due to limited access to appropriate education and training. Despite the growing body of literature on disability empowerment, existing studies have predominantly focused on hard skill development and economic outcomes, while the role of social skills programs in facilitating broader social integration remains underexplored. This study aims to analyze the empowerment and social skill development of persons with disabilities through programs implemented by the Sahabat Difabel Community, employing the theory of secondary socialization proposed by Berger and Luckmann (1966) and the critical pedagogy framework of McLaren (2010). Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from November 2024 to June 2025 in Semarang. The findings indicate that the community provides both hard skill and soft skill training to support the independence and social skills of persons with disabilities. This potential-based empowerment model emphasizes social inclusion and work readiness while complementing the role of families in fostering independence. The study recommends further collaboration among communities, families, private institutions, and the government to create an inclusive environment that supports the development of persons with disabilities.

Reproductive health is an aspect of health that still requires serious attention, particularly for women of reproductive age. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder with a prevalence of 3.4% among women worldwide, yet it often goes undetected due to a lack of awareness. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of women of reproductive age regarding menstruation, PCOS, and the importance of early detection through an educational webinar titled “Hormone Talk: Exploring Menstruation, PCOS, and the Importance of Early Detection.” The event was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform on December 13, 2025, and was attended by over 100 participants, the majority of whom were female students. The evaluation method utilized pre-tests and post-tests analyzed using a Dependent T-test. The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score from 64.78 (pre-test) to 79.67 (post-test), with a difference of 14.89 points and a p-value of 0.000. This demonstrates that reproductive health educational webinars are effective in enhancing participants’ knowledge. It is hoped that this activity can serve as a model for sustainable digital-based health promotion interventions in efforts to improve reproductive health literacy among Indonesian women.

Exclusive breastfeeding is a crucial step in improving infant health, yet it remains under-practiced in Indonesia. This is primarily due to a lack of knowledge and positive attitudes among mothers. Health education using leaflets has become a popular strategy in community-based nursing due to its simplicity and ease of understanding. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of leaflets in improving maternal knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding exclusive breastfeeding. A systematic literature search was conducted using the PRISMA methodology. Data were collected from scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025 that met the inclusion criteria for intervention studies using information leaflets with pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women. Twenty original articles meeting these criteria were analyzed. The results showed that most studies found a significant increase in maternal knowledge after distribution of information leaflets (p < 0.005). Furthermore, improvements in attitudes toward exclusive breastfeeding were observed, although practices varied. Many studies have shown that audiovisual materials are more effective than leaflets, although leaflets are easier to use and distribute. Factors such as social support and infrastructure influence the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This study concluded that leaflets were effective in improving mothers' knowledge and attitudes toward exclusive breastfeeding and remained valuable inhome care, especially when combined with other educational methods

Hypertension is a global health problem that requires ongoing management, one of which is through a low-salt diet. However, many people with hypertension do not adhere to this diet due to a lack of information and understanding of the disease's risks. The Health Belief Model (HBM) can be utilized as a health education method to encourage hypertension management behavior using leaflets. This study aims to analyze the application of the HBM theory in the use of leaflets to increase knowledge about a low-salt diet among hypertensive patients in the community. The method used in this study was a literature review following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines through the steps of identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and selection of articles until 16 articles were obtained that met the inclusion criteria. The results of this study indicate that leaflets are effective in increasing knowledge about a low-salt diet, adherence to health behaviors, and blood pressure control for people with hypertension. The components of the HBM, such as perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and cues to action, play a role in shaping risk perceptions and encouraging changes in health behavior. Therefore, leaflets based on HBM are highly recommended as a form of promotional and preventive intervention in nursing practice in the community because they are easy to use, low cost, and support self-management of hypertension.
